To be fair Archie can be vey convincing. Danielle was coming across as hysterical and you would believe someone who was calm over someone who was hysterical. I always thought the Archie/Ronnie abuse was far fetched. Arche being a manipulative liar would have been enough and a good contrast to his brother Eric who was violent. Archie attacking Stacey was just about plausible but the Archie/Ronnie abuse - too far fetched. She would never have forgiven him for that and cut all ties to him plus it's out of character for Archie.

I think she knew but accepting it would have thrown her off the deep end when her sister was pressuring and gaslighting her into accepting their dad being around as her abuse was dismissed because her sister was the golden child and she was the scapegoat. She had internally shut down, Archie knew he was caught that’s why he was being very quite in tone and ‘business like’ about getting her out of the pub, the guilt was evident. And Danielle’s desperation and frustration at not being validated, at her whole fucked up cagey family refusing to look at the truth stating them in the face so she looks like the crazy one and gets cast out. I know what that feels like firsthand and this actress played that brilliantly.

Not ridiculous at all for an abuse survivor, especially if the one who abused them is family or a friend. Archie was a charming, conniving, manipulative, narcissistic psychopath. He got in her head and made her believe she just made it up. That's what they do.

I always thought that when the Ronnie/Archie rape storyline happened, it would reveal that Archie was Danielle's biological father.
That made the most sense to me and would be a huge part of why he didn't want Ronnie to keep the baby. He didn't want "evidence" around of his crime.

Although this was a well acted episode especially from Danielle and Ronnie and tragic circumstance too add which makes a powerful episode, but this was such a Cruel way to end things, it's such a shame they never even had a chance to at least talk to each other as mother and daughter, this was very frustrating storyline and ending for the viewers.

Couple of point Soaps are the bread and butter for TV but sine going from two episodes a week to almost every night you simply can't keep writing gripping story lines. Second is Lauren Crace i do actually believe wanted this plot,in as much as she is a theatre actor and for me the cast are playing their part as directed but Danielle puts a live stage performance on. Her face,body movement upstairs and pub lounge are similar to stage .
