Hello, thanks for stopping by. Mosaics have been used for ages to decorate homes or gardens. In this video I will show you how to turn pebbles into a beautiful stepping stone for the garden and I do hope that you will get some inspiration to try it out yourself, all the best, Erika
Hello Anna, thank you so much for your kind words 😍😍. I am glad you liked the pebble mosaic stepping stone. It takes a bit of time to place all the pebbles but you will a piece of art that you will cherish. Have a great sunday and best wishes, Erika
Liebe Lydia, vielen lieben Dank!
Thank you so much for your kind words.❤❤ I am glad you liked it. I made several for my garden and even after years they are still in top shape! Have a wonderful week and best wishes, Erika
Thank you kindly for your comment, it is greatly appreciated. It just takes a bit of time so I would recommend doing it in sections as making a whole yard will try your patience. Just decide on a simple pattern and I am sure you will love making your own stepping stones. Have a wonderful week and all the best, Erika
Thanks a lot for your comment, really appreciated! It is pretty simple and you can lay the pebbles in any design you like. It takes a bit of patience but it is worth it.
Thank you so much. I did several during the summer and they are now in front of our greenhouse. I guess I will make some more when the weather gets milder as some of the things are better done outdoors! Have a wonderful sunday and all the best, Erika
Hello Liz, thank you so much for your kind words. No, I didn't add latex to the concrete. My mosaics have been outside for three years now and the mixture of sand and cement (concrete) works just fine. And no polyurethane needed as weather protection although we have snow and ice during winter. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to contact me, have a great day, best wishes, Erika
Hello, thank you for your question. Mosaics have been used in many different countries and pebble mosaics can stay outside in harsh conditions. My stepping stones have been outside during 3 seasons now (Austria) with rain, snow and even hail and still look the same. I don't think that you have to worry about water logging or algae so if you like to give it a try go for it, they are worth the effort. Have a lovely weekend and best wishes, Erika
Good day to you too, thank you for your nice comment, I am glad you liked it. The pebbles are between 7-15 mm large. You have to sort them by size as they come in a mixed bag. Your mosaics are looking very beautiful too. Have a wonderful week and all the best, Erika
@@HomeMade_AT : Thank you very much. You are very nice. Thanks also for praising me for the mosaics. My mosaic workshop is being built. I want to make the stairs according to your instructions. Sorry, my English is not good :-). Heda
Thank you kindly for your comment. No, I don't seal it. This isn't necessary. My stepping stones have been out during two winters now (and we do have snow and ice) and they still look the same. You can put some polish on them the one you use for marble so they get mor shiny but this isn't for protection just for a glossy finish. Hope that helps. Have a great week and all the best, Erika
Thank you kindly, this is greatly appreciated. I joined yours too as I think you are a brilliant artist. Have a wonderful Valentine's day and all the best, Erika
You can use an already made stepping stone but only if you use the direct method. The direct method means gluing the pebbles directly to the stone without using the sand and grouting it later. The downside to this method is that you won't get an even surface as the pepples are of different heights and an even surface is vital for a stepping stone. The method that is used here is called the indirect method taking care that the different heights are evened out due to pushing them down till they hit the bottom of your mold. I hope that helps. Have a great day and best wishes, Erika
Hello, thanks for your comment. Those are marble pebbles. We have those in many colours from brown, to green and up to white. They are not polished in any way just cleaned. I hope that helps. Have a wonderful week and all the best, Erika
Hi Johanna, I used a normal chicken wire mesh with a hole size of 25 mm. It's easily bendable and cuttable but still sturdy enough to act as an armament. Hope that helps but please don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions. Have a wonderful week and all the best, Erika

Very inspiring 🎉 do you add polyeuothane to help protect from the weather once finished? I noticed you didn't add latex to the cement, why was that?

Hello,
Can this mosiac be used in a wet country like UK? Am bit worried there might be water logging and end up having algae on the stones.

How can you seal it? Do you put any type of polish or protectant over it?
