- Fresh Beat Records (1985) This track showcases the amazing programming skills of Mr. Mixx (David Hobbs) on the Roland 808 drum machine and some nice scratching cuts from the early days of the craft. Fresh Kid Ice providing some unique flavor on the vocals. This track was recorded and produced in California before the 2 Live Crew moved to Florida and became a household name.

This is easily the best song the 2 Live Crew ever made! Note** Without Luke!! 1984
The flipside of this record is my favorite ! So many memories, when it came out . P-rine in the house…..
What's on the flip side?
I used to have the cassette & played it on my Walkman all the time & in the car bumpin..My yellow brotha RIP🙏
I have thousands of tapes about half are random recordings from radio back in the day, me mixing vinyl, tape to tape, all that. I'm listening to a blank unlabeled tape now and this song came on. Still bangin
the good ole days....when the 2 and the U ruled.
Man, I remember when this first dropped. Ghetto Style DJs used to set up on 58 terrace and 11th ave where Luke used to live. I lived on 58 terrace and 12thave. Man those were the days. Those Miami Days and Pac Jam teen disco

First track from Fresh Kid Ice.
It would be 2-3 more years before I was introduced to.hip-hop through 2 Live Crews first album and LL Cool J's-BAD. Time flies.
I have been listening to 2 live crew since 1990 and I still listen in 2020.
The original before they came to Florida and paired up with Luke. Best version ever!!!!
Mr. Music thanks for the upload! Fresh track; first time listener of the song as well. I been researching 2 Live Crew tonight, and this is some great history in rap/hip-hop right here. God bless.
I bought this tape as soon as it came out then bought the two 12" single for mixing...1987-88 was a good year!
Damn this was the jam.
R.I.P. FRESH KID ICE.
Rest in peace Fresh Kid Ice
WHAT!?!?!
He died of the age of 54
Mr. Mixx was always one of my favorite DJs.
Same
Days before Miami, they came from the westcoast and did this hit..... Luke Cambell aka Luke Skywaker heard their style and it was more of the Miami style then the westcoast style that Egyptian Lover did and signed them and also Luke join the crew and started the Dirty South style that the people were not ready for.....
Pass it on brother yes…… I remember this… killer ass jam still obsessed with it ……woooooowwwwww
mike fresh, mr. mixx my all time favorite beatmakers.
That was the joint, Rest In Peace Fresh Kid Ice
LOVE THIS TRACK!

Legendary
Celebrity Underrated brought me here. RIP Fresh Kid Ice (Christopher Wong Won).
Dude thank you sooooooo much... I had this original tape stolen from me... when I went to replace it all they were selling is the remix version... which I like too, but I like the effect on his vocals on this one better and the extended cow bell session... Oh and at the very end when they yell "treach"!
wow never heard this version! Thanks for providing the information to this song. I still can't believe they are both gone. 😢
dope track. i reside in the "m" and love that old mr. mixxx cutting. i think this iz a hellified banger kid. peace and one.

Representing the Bottom, people don't even KNOW we had a scene in South Florida that was DOPE in the early 80s that was totally our own thing.
When 3:34 would kick in we would all bug out on the Dancefloor SOOO GOOD!
Thanks for posting!
I remember dancing to this at Charles Drew middle school in 85. Good ole days.
Rest in Paradise Christopher Wingwong aka Feesh Kid Ice.

Totally agree...no comparison.
Perfect jam!!! Rather you rolling or sitting in the drive-thru line for 20 minutes😎
Mike Fresh, And Treach Dj Mr. Mixx, Just as good or better then Dr. Dre. And In my eyes the originator of not only the term, but " This is how it should be done, my style is identical too none. " the MEGA MIXX.
Nice, old school. Hearing the 808 cowbells reminds me of Mantronix
Wow 2 live Crew, awesome sounds 😂

RIP Chris 🙏🏻
This is a Whole Classic!
Hab es gerade erst wiedergefunden 😊und ich liebe es noch immer 😇☝️
RIP 🪦 Ice & Bro Marquis …..
I had this on cassette, it is too live!!
first I've heard of this and a lot of the comments on here talking about early 2 live and Luke and vee and I need to get the book I guess but all I know is that as a white kid in Dallas TX and 10yrs old in 1985 I couldn't get enough of beat street the movie and 2 live crew and a lot of other underrated groups compared to today's weak ass rhymes and music!!! I know this though, Houston has a underground scene with riff raff and before you knock him please just listen to his lyrics Cuzco he has some serious rhymes along with slim thug and Paul Wall etc.........
S.I.P FRESH KID ICE
