  • The British Grand Prix was nothing short of a catastrophe for Sergio Perez. The Mexican driver’s weekend was marred by a disastrous trip to the gravel during Q1, which brought out the red flag and prematurely ended his qualifying session. This unfortunate incident relegated him to the back of the grid for the start of Sunday’s race.
In a car that was widely expected to be well-suited to the Silverstone circuit, Perez was anticipated to make significant progress through the field. However, he failed to live up to these expectations and instead found himself playing the role of a tire strategy guinea pig for his teammate, Max Verstappen, as the rain began to fall.
This marked the sixth consecutive disappointing result for Perez, and despite a freshly inked two-year contract, the pressure on his position within the team is intensifying. The performance clauses in his new contract, which were leaked during the British Grand Prix, have put the Mexican driver at serious risk of losing his seat mid-season.
The next two races are the most important of Checo’s life because anything short of perfection could cost him his F1 career. Do you think Checo is still worthy of the Red Bull seat, or is the summer break the right time for Red Bull to cancel his contract?

Between Checo and Danny Prick? I'd still go with Checo. The lesser of two evils and if the Horndog pulls the trigger and bins Checo and Ricciardo botches it up even worse?! Remember that Dr. Helmet Palpatine and Jos Vader are always lurkng in the shadows, waiting to pounce and screwing this up could be a career-ender for the Horndog if he gets it wrong. Liam Lawson really is the safest bet since it's clear they've got it in for poor, unloved and very much unappreciated, Yuki. Go figure! 🤨

They put him on hards for the start ! They put him on inters at the wrong time! They also put him on slicks at the wrong time in qualifying! Max fell off the same place on the track, even though Perez had already come off. The team are letting Perez down and using him for tyre info for Max.

So you’re saying that his abysmal performance across the past 6 races consecutively was due to assessing tyre data? My word.

@@thecomicsarereal no, I’m saying that across this event, the team played a massive role in his poor performance. He didn’t put the slicks on when it was still wet in qualifying, he didn’t put inters on the car when the track was dry. The team’s performance, on his side of the garage, was rubbish, almost as if they were helping him to fail. The contrast between the two sides of the garage was startling. I found your report to be both biased and disingenuous.
