Escape From Colditz: The Best of British (VHS)

In the penultimate episode of this UK Channel 4 documentary series from 2000, ex-prisoners and guards of the German prison, Colditz Castle, discuss the various ruses the British Army inmates concocted to foil their Nazi guards, during World War II. The show also includes recreations of certain escape attempts, such as when one POW disguised himself as a German officer.

Although quiet a bit older than me I was friends with Ken Lockwood who was interned in Colditz, I spent many hours listening to his gripping stories of his time spent as a Pow. RIP Ken, we owe so much to your generation.

I hate all the escape films and TV, nearly all British POWs were digging coal in Polish mines, many from 1940 until late 1944 when they were marched west, many dying on the way.
