Awesome car, enjoy it. Yes traxxas may cost more initially, but their parts support is second to none. And they by far, have the cheapest repair parts in the hobby. This is something I’ve learned over the past 25 years owning traxxas, Losi, Associated, HPI, Kyosho, Tamiya, and most recently Arrma. Most people can’t see past the initial cars cost. And pay NO attention to whether their hobby shop has good parts support for the car they buy, or how expensive the parts are. I broke a lower front A arm on my traxxas XRT. New one was only $16, for a 1/5 scale $1000 car. I broke a rear A arm on my 3s Arrma granite. It cost me $35 for a new one for a 1/10 scale $329 car, more than twice what the XRT A arm cost me. Believe me, everyone thinks the cheaper cars initial prices make them better. But in the long run, it’s always gonna even out. And they all wanna hate on traxxas. But wait until you have to start opening up that pocketbook to replace parts on your “cheaper” purchase price cars. I have a Losi Nitro Ten T from around 2009 that I need an onboard battery for. Can’t find one at any hobby shop anywhere. Yet I can walk into almost any hobby shop that carries RC cars and still buy parts for my 1997 traxxas Nitro Sport, and for very little money too.
I have a Rustler 4x4 VXL for the last 3 years. Been running it on 3s and constantly breaking driveshafts and wheel hexes. Especially with larger but much needed bigger tires. Running it on 2s a lot lately and it's still and rocket and doesn't tear up anything. I believe Traxxas is over engineered their chassis and driveline and cutting the power level to increase durability on the Mini Max and new 2s versions of all their new releases. That's how I see it anyway.
Great Vid And Review but ima stick w my rlaarlo rog 1 3s 1/14 scale. I have to give up on traxxas simply because they underbuild vehicles. I bet the mini maxx will get a HD upgrade from the factory a few months after regular version drops. Keep up the Good Work Waldorf RC.
Agree with YOU! I think rlaarlo another great model omni terminator is better! From control to body design, every aspect rlaarlo would be my best choice in this scale!
Thanks for posting this Mini Maxx video. Just moved to the area. Needed something closer than Laurel. See you soon. Do you parts for the TRX-4M Bronco?
A 3s Arrma Grom Battery that is undersized but was fine for the photo shoot. Since them I have been running the stock battery because it is so much ru just with that battery.
I agree on most but I don't think anyone will quit buying them. Traxxass holds a lot of those newbs hostage with that proprietary battery crap. If you start out with Traxxass chances are you buy the battery and charger. That means you gotta buy more, different batteries and charger to swap brands. That's a big part of why I stuck with them so long. That plus I believed the shills that they really were a premium brand and an aluminum chassis would bend if you sneezed nearby. Thanks for that Talbot... luckily for me Arrma put the Fireteam on sale for $399 a few years back and made it worth the risk. That Fireteam is still on the original chassis and the spare I bought off Jenny's the day I bought it is still in the bag. Also my collection only has 2 Traxxass remaining instead of only Traxxas. They're gonna have to do a lot better than this or that little Jato joke if I ever buy another.
The truck is ~$250 with a 2s lipo in the box... the BL2s is a base brushless motor. Not really sure what the hate is for. The BL2 is a far better option over the brushed Titan 550 that has a service life of ~40 hours. We already know they're going to sell an ultimate version with the vxl3s, GTRs, TSM & I'm sure all of the other upgrades available for ~$450 if you want to wait for it. I'll be honest- Traxxas has the best supply and keeps parts for legacy/discontinued models. The bonus is that they also have a good amount of shared parts between models. Despite that, Traxxas has been losing my interest in favor of other companies with more interesting small scale options... until the Mini Maxx was announced. This new model renewed my interest in Traxxas (for now 🧐)
And What does the spare parts for other Brands cost? (IF EVEN AVAILABLE)I know that i payed 16€ for my xmaxx arm once it broke after 1 yhear and a new front arm for the arrma granite 3 s cost Double that price crazy how a small spare front arm from a 3s car costs Double as much as an 8s car,s spare arm crazy how yall just wanna hate on traxxas even when the price Equals over time with parts i have a kraton 6s to and most of the parts cost double as much as parts for my xmaxx and sometimes i can,t even get parts for my arrma bc they are out of stock
Does anyone know what the stock bl2s motors kv is or if it will hold up on 3s? Planning on just dropping a 3s capable ESC in mine with a center diff and seeing how that goes 😂
@lmlz3 gotcha, if thats the case then on 3s voltage it should spin at about 37,000 max which should be well within the limit for most motors. Im going to find out either way! 😆 Haha
@@brethenry3434 it really is a 2S max. But on a side question- how did you get to 37,000 rpm max? On 2s its max is 27,720. If 3s were possible, 41,580 (3300x12.6)
Didn’t they send these to UA-camrs like everyone else ? I have not seen a single one like I’ve seen rlaarlo and Arrma vids all in the same days . Man , I want to try every single RC car form arrma and traxxas and the lot of them 😂
Traxxass ain't giving nothing away. Their fanatics will buy them without reviews. It wouldn't matter one bit. Folks even bought the Maxx Slash after everyone except the hard core shills ragged it.
Man i would not buy that 💩 🤦🏾. I keep my hpi salvage xs . And run circles around that truck on 2s not even 3s . Its way faster than that. Come on traxxas man 😮
@@waldorfrc plus the if the hpi i geared its goin 60 to 65+ on 3s come on man . And the motor spin faster it has a 4000kv castle also . What are u talking about bro . I know i have them

We do stock parts for that vehicle, Come check us out Your first beer is on us.
Thanks for the insight. 👍
Awesome upgrade and review. Keep up the good content. My go to store for fast and bash cars!
Awesome Video!
Is it faster with the VXL3 Combo on 2S than with stock motor and esc?
Or did it get faster with the 3S Motor and ESC but on 2S.
Yes slightly faster
To me 80 mph is flying for a basher . Most of us are in the 40 s and 50 s with one screamer . Gotta have one screamer .

I have 3 saved for me at my local shop
Aw man you’re in for a “treat”
That thing looks plush and durable . I ll bet this thing rocks if its around granite size ?
It's definitely not. It's a mini. I wanna say it's a bit smaller than an Omni terminator.
It is larger than the grom series
Which track do you drive at?
The Track in Gaithersburg MD

I challenge you to run this little thing on 4S! (With a different ESC of course))
I don't think it needs 4S. this combo on 2S I actually think is the sweet spot.
@@waldorfrc Does not need it, but would be fun..

how much would it take to get it to 3s?
The upgrade is $125
Traxxas continues with the selling of downgraded electronics to sell newbies on upgrades. It's going to cost them customers eventually.

@lmlz3 i usually go off nominal voltage so 11.1 or 11.4 volts, but yes you are correct, that would be the true max RPM
Its a 3300 KV motor, I personally think it can run on 3s

KV is not always the most important number. But I always like to stay positive but it's interesting you spelled the car as SALVAGE
