- Hi Everyone, Welcome to my channel!
Every Tuesday I’ll bring you tutorials, tool reviews and vlogs all about plastering.
My name’s Anthony and I’m a third generation plasterer from Prestatyn in North Wales. I’ve been plastering since 1999 and I’ve had the fortune to have been taught by my dad. I want to help spread the knowledge that I’ve learnt and to keep developing my skills. Plastering is an ever evolving trade and I would love for you to join me on my journey.

Great video. Hugely informative. Well done.
Glad it helped 😀
It's a pleasure to watch your videos - thank you. I have a whole pebble dashed house - is there a way to render over the pebbles without removing them?
I bought the makita mixer of your review pal, we. Love it.... Perfect for little mixs.. 👍
Nice one, I can’t live without mine now 😀
Top work again mate
Cheers Darren 👍
Great video as usual mate👍
Cheers bud
Great job. What paint do you recommend to go onto pebbledash?
Another great video Anthony you deserve a lot more subscribers
Cheers Billy, I’m working on it, hope you’re all well 😀
@@AnthonyParryPlasteringhow do you fix a crack running straight from soffit to ground?
Good man
Nice clean job, blended it well. One thing i would say, is have yourself on normal speed when casting. People wanting to learn might want to see your technique. Great job!
Normal speed would be great. To get the technique.
My thoughts exactly. Nice vid, just tuned in to see the process of getting the pebbles on the cement. We can all throw but it'd be good to see that element. Cheers.
Hi Anthony great video, just a question ...I live in a pebble dashed bungalow that is in need of replacement with new pebble dash......I am also having a window taken out, replacing with patio doors. Can you please tell me the order of how things happen ...should the existing pebble dash be removed before the door frame is fitted?
nice neat job mate 👍
Cheers bud 👍
Very nice 👍
Cheers bud 👍
Would you ever use yellow sand for pebble dashing bud ?
Knowing north wales there’s plenty of pebbledash to keep you busy!
I had my house drydashed and some of the brown pepples ran with colour when it rained any tips on what I could use to clean them up thanks
Where are you based? Would you be happy to remove pebble dash and what estimate would you give?
Jus interested, What type of stone you used for your dry dash?
Excellent job, Quality 👍👍☺️
Thanks bud, On this job i was using limestone gravel. 👍
Hello could I just removed the pebble dash and re point?
Thanks Anthony…
Where do you buy the matching pebble dash? And roughly what are the prices thanks
is that building sand or plastering sand your using
that's top work how long do you have to wait to painted.
Honestly I’m not 100% sure. I always say wait until it’s had a bit of time to settle. But I’d say about 2 weeks
Anthony what's the tightest coat you would do with normal render? I've seen some render where they have gone over the old tyrolean stuff but it's a crap coat of red sand and it's soft but only like a skim to smooth it off. Could it be scraped off and redone with a good waterproof mix? Adhesive under it?
can you dash straight into the scratch coat ?
No
I have black damp patches on external pebbledash just around the corners of windowsills how can I fix this, any suggestions please
It’s mostly likely gonna be staining from the dirt collecting on the windowsills and when we it rains it just runs down the wall and stains it. You can try hosing it off but then you have the risk of the pebbles coming lose.
My dad is painter and decorator and he hates paint in pebble dash
Were the pebbles thrown onto the wet cement?
Yes the sand and cement needs to be fairly wet. It a balance thou if it’s too wet the pebbles will slide down. It’s all about controlling the suction
Where’s the best place to buy the pebbles?
I get mine from my local merchant. But if I’m near I’ll go to a quay and get it direct from them.
The render thats pebbledashed on the back back of my house is old and has come away where ive had new windows put in and also coming away around back door. A renderer told me it cant be fixed and said should take it all off and put new up. Dont think he actually check how much of it was hollow. Any advice? Cant afford the full job atm
Honestly I would probably go with the advice of the renderer. Once the pebbledash has blown(goes hollow) it tends to keep going.
The pebbledash will never look perfect when you patch it up. You might end up paying twice
Best advice would be to get multiple plasterers/ renderers to have a look and take their advice.
Hope that helps
@@AnthonyParryPlastering cheers. Its just so expensive. Want some kind of temporary solution till can afford it. Can the part of the window and door frame you aren't meant to be able to see
Why did you use a different colour of pebbledash?
Hi Steven, the whole house was getting painted. So it seemed pointless spending the extra money on the coloured pebble.
@@AnthonyParryPlastering Ah, never thought of that one. That would make sense. Cheers!!
You said you use “Red sand “ is that building sand ?
Yeah building sand will be the same. Here in North Wales we’ve got red sand, which is little less gritty as the building sand.
Thank you very much for your reply, is there a reason you prefer that to plastering sand ?
@@barrybloggs22 its just what we have up here in north wales, we don’t have plastering sand because we have our own quarries here.
Why speed up tutorial?
