- Finishing the exterior sheathing of our home build in the Canadian woods.
Our names are Ashley & Jeremy and we are building a cabin alone in the Canadian wilderness.
We're a couple trying our best to live a more self reliant life after a medical release from the army changed everything. We are currently building on a small mountain in the woods. We'll be sharing that and much more, so subscribe.
Glad u r feeling better Ashley
The addition is coming along. Looking forward to seeing it tied together. Ashley...looking good!!!
Looking Good guys one step closer and Ashley your looking very uncomfortable but your looking good❤️🇨🇦
Our family is from the East Coast, we are so happy for the coming birth of your child.
It is a joy to watch your progress toward the day of birth.
May the Lord gift you all your needs.

Hello, dear hearts! The new addition is really going fast. I love it when Jeremy is always asking you if you are okay, making sure that you are not lifting anything heavy. He is truly a wonderful husband and dad. So, my sweets, keep on staying safe and healthy. Hugs for Sam and JoJo. ( I'm not sure of the name, sorry, 😊) God bless you all!!!
Sounds like you got all the name correct :)
Beautiful pug

Jeremy thank goodness Ashley wasn’t inside when the Nail shot through, a thing for anyone using a Nail Gun. You two work so well together, sure looked Hot in that Sun ☀️ perhaps need a hat Ashley. That little one is sure growing and you have so many waiting to welcome them into this world. Love to you three ❤️💙❤️xxxx
For sure, she would definitely let me know if she was in there. And thanks so much, we are so excited to meet her 😊
Greetings from New Hampshire! I learn so much from watching your projects. Your family shares many similar values as ours. We were pregnant with our third and had a miscarriage, your channel also helped us cope with handling that. We are now pregnant again and overlapping with yours, really cool to see and keep up the good work!
Oh that is great news! God bless and thanks so much :)
Jeremy and Ashley your cabin is coming out good I like how you guys work together as a team you can't look at anything heavy
I'm happy your weather is favorable to continue. The project is looking Great. Hoping you received the Amazon,CA packages for upcoming baby. Stay safe Ashley. Hugs from Santa Barbara. 🤗😘🙏🌹🍷👏😎
Thanks! And yes! It came the other day, thanks so much! Very much appreciated ! I hope you join us for the online baby shower on June 28 on mbfers :)
I'm really enjoying watching your build here, but what did my heart good was seeing you follow one of my Dads Golden rules of carpentry. If you pull a board off that has nails showing, stop and remove the nails before making another move!!!! It sure saves your feet and the need for shots
Awesome job on getting your sheets up. Keep up the great work.
Looking great can’t wait to see finished product looks like your feeling better
Another good step complete in the build - good job guys
Awesome job you guys, the homestead is going to be beautiful!!!
hang in there Ashley its all worth it in the end!
Just found your channel after months if not seeing it come up. Don't know why I'm still subscribed and black bell was still on. Well, what a change, I'm surprised, firstly congratulations, last I you were hoping to get pregnant. I'm very happy for you all. I'll have to back watch the videos if I can figure that out. Love watching you guys. Great progress as well.
Thanks for stopping by again :)
Awesome job you guys are getting errr done
Hi Jeremy. When you are holding heavy pieces of wood it is helpful to nail on a ledger board at the bottom to hol the piece. (Know -it- all -here.)
lol, it was pretty easy.
LOOKING GODD!
Good job guys looking good
Bonjour de Chamonix en France. Vos vidéos sont super. Bon courage 😊
Hi kids, happy Friday
Have a great weekend 😊👍
Great teamwork, guys. Loved the time-lapse speeded-up bits. Bet you wish it was that easy in real life too.
Thanks, and yes, too bad it wasn't all that quick!
Hi happy Tuesday.
Looking good yawl !
Looking radiant Momma ... and Jeremy - replace the "D" with that joke at the beginning with a "B" because that was a Bad Joke ... normally I chuckle at least a little - that one my stomach growled! lol ... Build is looking great - good work young folks!
Haha
You both work well together.. Ashley you are glowing and looking beautiful pregnant ❤ love you videos. 😍 hello from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
🥇🥇💗💗
Take care of yourself Ashley. Great build you guys have going. I would not do steps on the end of each side of the hallway. Trip Hazzard. Just my opinion.
Thanks :)
The thumbs up is just for the opening joke😂😂😂. Great job guys.👍🇨🇦

Hey, doing great , thanks and the bun is in the oven ;)
Are you expecting. Best of luck dear!
Yes, thanks :)
Nice job
Almost there 🙏
Awesome job you guys!!! You work so well together and remind me of my husband and I. Hard work pays off… eventually! How long did it take you to get all side walls up and sheathed?
A few days, but that was just doing a bit at a time.
Curious as why you didn't just nail a board at the correct location on the rim joists. That way those 4x8 sheets of osb could have rested on top of them and been installed by one person and at the perfect height. Then just remove the bottom board after the osb was installed.
This was still pretty easy.
Great progress. I’m glad it’s sounds like you don’t have a cold anymore. Sometimes colds are harder to shake when pregnant. Are the chickens laying yet ? Have a Great Week and Thanks for sharing.
Hey! Yes, feeling better cold wise and the chickens have been laying for a couple weeks now :)
I imagine you guys are getting the hang of this by now...haha
Haha
LOOKS GREAT JEREMY & ASHLEY . Did you trade the GM for a RAM ?
Hey, thanks! And we sold the old Ford and bought the Ram with the growing family , etc.
One step closer! Y'all are doing great. Replaced the old Ford? I missed that development.
You are the first person to notice ! Yes, with the bench seat and another child on the way and some work needing done on it, it was time :)
@@MBFModernHomesteading, admittedly I'm a bit of a car nut. Looks like a GM tail light, but a lot of vehicles are really similar these days.
@@terrycastor8299 dodge ram like we had before .
@@MBFModernHomesteading Those are popular. It should be a good vehicle for y'all.
Wake the plate
The plate is not sleeping ;)
@@MBFModernHomesteading ha ha walk the plate
🇳🇴👍👍👌
Curious why you struggled instead of putting a temporary 2x ledge, butted up against the already installed sheathing. It would have lined the bottom up perfectly without having to struggle.
It was actually pretty easy.
😅if anything put two three nails at the box …much better…easier…🎉🎉😂😂
lol what
He is shooting the nail gun like he’s pregnant 😂😂😂
Maybe he is.
Can I assume if you’re ordering roof trusses that the second floor option was put off?
Yes
HI A CARPENTER TRADE QUALIFIED HEADERS SHOULD FLUSH WITH FRAMING
They are, you must have missed our previous video mentioning that they will be built out on the interior later ;)
WOMAN! you saw him shoot that nail through the plywood and then you go running inside when you were doing the front... you need some body size safety glasses made out of kevlar
I was out of the way for that part, if there was sound you would have heard him each time ask if I was out of the way ;)
👍👍✌️🤰
What happened to the old ford pickup?
Sold it for the same price we bought it and got the dodge with the expanding family, etc
For me everything horizontal
It ties everything together that's my opinion
You can go both directions, we do horizontal as well, anything over one story we would always do horizontal.
Are you going to connect the two cabins together?

15:36- Did Jeremy get a new truck?
Yes, with the growing family and the old ford only having a bench, etc he went back to another dodge ram like he had before.
@@MBFModernHomesteading Sweet... Congrats!!!
Are the two of you expecting a little boy or girl?

I have a question. The OSB flooring that is waterproof, can you use it on your walls?
It is tongue and groove and really thick so wouldn’t really be practical. Also cost quite a bit more.
@@MBFModernHomesteading Also congratulations on your baby coming soon. We started watching your You tube from the start 2 weeks ago and just today we finished your last one posted. Love seeing the info on Bluetti.
@@TheTxbutterfly47 thanks so much!
Great job Romans 10:9-13❤
Thanks looks good to me.
✌💗💗🤗
Please, please, please do not put steps in a hallway. The plans you reveled for the connecting hallway has a step on each end. Steps in passageways are falls waiting to happen. As a designer I can’t tell you how many clients asked for help in removing these types of steps. It is way too easy to get distracted and miss the step. Adults with progressive lenses or bifocals may not even see the steps. Plans to light them up in the dark is not adequate. Everyone in your family will end up tripping on them sooner or later. Carrying your baby would block your vision and down you go, along with your baby. There are a number of framing options to raise the walls to allow for straight level floors. I think the easiest is to frame the two connecting walls higher so they are above the edge of the roof. Then when they are above the roof edges you would still to frame a shed roof. Plus, there are other ideas, all better than putting single steps in a hallway.
You’ll see it in the end and it will make more sense :)
A woman always looks beautiful when pregnant and you Ashley you are pretty but now prettier
Hun tell your husband to take you down to the steam or creek what ever it is so you can cool off. You need a hat Hun. Take care of yourself please in this heat
I am taking it easy, promise :)
Ashley looking sexy, hope it's a boy!!!!! You guy's coming long good on that cabin. God Bless and stay safe.
It's a girl...
God Bless :)
😊 love love love you guys. Your UA-cam is one i happened upon afew years ago. Been watching since your RV LIVING Days on you first build. Baby coming is so exciting. Was surprised "initially" when you moved... The explanation spoke clearly. The beautiful home you purchased are you all still working on it?
Hey Ms Ashley you are adorably preggers. At 5'10" i never looked adorable or cute... Looks so wonderful on you. Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
We have shared some videos of working on it on our secondary channel MBFers but are looking to sell it soon now. Thanks so much :)
