  • This Video will show you where overtightened hardware may lead to a situation where the resistance will no longer change on your NordicTrack S22i, S15i, or other similar exercise bikes. After loosening any hardware preventing the resistance motor from turning freely, remember to power the bike off and back on.
    Note: the resistance will not change or may only change a very small amount when the bike is at a decline. Test the resistance functionality in a manual workout when at 0% incline on the console or higher.

    Why did they loosen the 2 screws on servo and the one on lower part of brake? Did they retighten?

      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  2 дні тому

      Over tightened screws can interfere with the movement of the resistance motor.

    Where do you get a replacement part? Cost? How long for delivery and what is the return policy if it does not fix the problem?

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  7 місяців тому

      There are multiple locations where replacement parts are available. If you purchase the part from the manufacturer or from www.iconservice.com parts typically arrive no later than 7-10 business days with standard shipping (expedited shipping is available), parts can be returned withing 30 days in like new condition, and there is a 10% restocking fee (S&H is not refunded). If you purchase your parts any where else you will need to check that specific stores policies. The cost will depend on your specific model number.

    my resistance is on even when the bike is "off" could it be stuck from not using it in while? in the video do you leave the m6 shoulder screw on the resistance arm loose? TY!!

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  4 місяці тому

      "Loose" is relative. You do not want it so tight that it crushes or binds the arm so it can not move.

    I’ve done all the updates and tried all the steps above, but my incline and resistance won’t work. I have a model NTEX02117.2. Any help is greatly appreciated!

      Does the console still show speed and cadence when you are pedaling? If so that is a good indication that the wires between the control board and the console are intact. If the console is behaving like the incline and resistance are working (levels change on the screen) then the console is likely also working. The first thing I would do to rule out anything simple would be to recalibrate the incline. (instructions are in the user's manual). Calibrating can resolve many incline issues and the resistance is closely tied to the incline on this model. My guess, from past experience and your description of the issue, is that the control board (down under the side shields) may need to be replaced.

    My model NTX02117.2 is having similar issues. My resistance and incline stopped working suddenly. The resistance buttons and incline buttons still beep and change the numbers on the screen and but do not change any resistance while pedaling or move the incline. (Incline is stuck patches 3rd down arrow printing on the bike) all the wires are connected and I did all the steps in your video. I calibrated, reset a couple times and nothing works. What do you recommend doing next?

      If there is no physical obstruction and the wiring is all intact so the machine can communicate then there is likely a software issue. Most of the issues similar to the ones your equipment is displaying are due to a corruption in the software in the lower control board and it should be replaced.

    My bike stopped working (no incline or resistance and also not recording rpm’s or watts). This happened right after a software update and now Nordic track support wants me to buy 5 parts to fix 😞 machine was barely used I’m so disappointed.

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp

      It is unlikely that there are problems with 5 different parts. What is your model number? Looks like "NTEX12345.1" Most of the time its not actually related to software. If the console is still able to start and display a workout then it probably isn't that part or related to the update. i may be able to suggest some other more likely problem parts if I know which model you have.

    Like many comments my S10i (NTEVEX14718.1) has stopped working. No resistance or incline and nothing happens when I calibrate the machine. Although when I first tried it did seem to do something after a long time and now appears to be stuck on a slight incline. Since then I have tried multiple calibrations and no movement at all. The machine still turns on and I can go into a workout and the console shows the resistance and incline levels changing but no watts or distance so the workout cannot be saved.
    I did as the video above explained and all the wiring seems fine. Any idea as to what may be the issue? Thanks in advance.

      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  4 місяці тому +1

      If the wires are intact and the console software is up to date then I think the most likely issue is a corruption in the controller. All of the motors and sensors go to this board before the information is communicated to the console. It is 1 part that explains failures in the speed sensor and the resistance and the incline. It's not likely you have 3 failures.

      @@FitnessEquipmentHelp Something I have noticed when I checked the wires on the controller is that there appears to be a fair bit of white glue by the looks of things around the 3 red wires and going between them. Really not sure it is supposed to be like this looking as your other video on the controller replacement doesn't look the same. I have taken a photo of it so not sure if I can send this to you to have a look at?

      @@FWS8072 some of the manufacturing facilities may have used hot melt glue to secure the wires. This will very by model and factory. It may require you to peal off the glue before replacing parts but it should not cause any issues with the bikes functionality.

      If all of the wires are intact and connected correctly and the console appears to be operating normally then based on this limited information I could suggest replacing the controller (lower circuit board). If you have any other details or a model number i may be able to be more specific.

    Hello can you please show us how to FIX the resistance and incline? Because it looks like I took alllllll this stuff off and the video doesn’t show how to troubleshoot these areas, that’s a bit cray. I appreciate the video but if you could actually show us the part we are searching for (how to fix the incline & resistance) in a vid, that would be amazing ❤❤❤

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp

      Failure of the resistance and incline can be from may different causes. The issue/resolution demonstrated in this video is just one of common causes affecting the ability of the resistance motor to turn freely. Thinks that can effect Both the resistance motor and incline that you can check would be damaged wires between the control board and the console. Other things that can effect both the resistance and the incline, at the same time, would be the control board or the console.
