this is amazing!!! I laughed when you were stumped in the makeup department: I've cosplayed & done zombie makeup for a few years and always feel awkward searching for stuff to complete a look, while people around me are staring at a large bald guy poking through kohl sticks😂 if you do the look again, I recommend a sealer (I use Graftobian setting spray).. this makes the makeup more smudge-proof. I agree.. a little darker blue around the eyes & on the lips, but have you thought of using blue mascara on your beard? Sorry for rambling, but this vid got me ridiculously excited! I love that instead of just giving reviews, you have fun with your viewers! Thanks for posting this Dan-o!!!!! ps: I pronounce it "twee-leck"
What a fun video! Glad you branched out and tried something new! You looked great as a Twi'lek. I pronounce it Twi-lek like it's spelled and not Twee-lek. Thank you for the great content! Keep it up! I say wear the Twi'lek out somewhere fun!
Ok so here is my review...I like it better than the truguda one. It moves much like it should, where as the truguda one is stiff in comparison. In the truguda one turning your head is very limited, but the twi'lek one is incredibly easy to move in no matter which way you turn your head! My only complaint the twi'lek head peice only comes in pale blue...I would have like more color choices. Also I love the feel of the twi'lek one and it fits nice and snug.
Really needs the full spectrum of Twi'lek variations of colors for a big sell to me. I might even buy a Lethian Twi'lek version if they do. Darth Talon was the reason I made Twi'lek Jedi and Sith in SWTOR. Talon needs much more love from Disney.
To answer your question.. different types of Star Wars content is appreciated. Loved following along on your haul and the headpiece review was great content!

I'm glad you took my advice on the make up. Next time give it some time to dry b4 doing other layers and time to dry one your done. Then it won't come off so easily. If I was closer I'd teach you and help you with it. You don't need it on thick either just nice even coat.
Is it ridiculous? Yes! Do I love it? Also, YESI think we need a weekly installation of Twi'lek Dan-O, or like a 30 second spot spliced into random videos. Maybe he is your "breaking news" or "contest alert" character that breaks into your videos? A+ for effort. Loved the video all around!
Thank you for reviewing these! I was curious about them, didn’t think they would be squishy/flexible but glad they are! For the facepaint, yeah you definitely need to add contour in, eyes and cheeks for the bare minimum, and the lips as a darker shade of the facepaint. Facepaint flattens and eliminates any natural shading so you have to add it back in. Think about it in the same way as human shades, but with blue as the base tone instead of brown/red. For sealing it, I’ve been using setting powder and the sealant spray from the same brand, Mehron, but there’s others out there people recommend more (I think Ben Nye Final Seal is the top recommended I’ve seen but it’s pricey). It’s not perfect, but helps a lot with the rubbing off compared to without it. Don’t worry about your ears peeking out, most male Twi’leks have pointy human-shaped ears, so it fits. But if you don’t want them to, maybe you could do cups attached to the goggles like what Hera Syndulla has?
Mine just arrived! Thank you for showing how you wear them without pulling the latex over your head. Wearing it with just the flight cap holding them on makes it a lot easier to get on, as well as making them more comfortable to get your Star Wars on! I'll make sure to take photos from the cruiser of me in my whole look. Thanks again!
This was fun. And it looks like you enjoyed doing it. I've always steered clear of the Funko Pops. On one hand, I don't really care for the way they look, and on the other, I've got an addictive personality. If I'm going to go down that rabbit hole, it needs to be something I'm really into. Normally I collect Vintage Collection Star Wars, but the last couple of years I've been taking a break to collect Masters of the Universe Origins.
I think I've only ever wanted one Funko Pop, and I'm a bit sad that I missed out on it.I think I say "Twee-lek" but both are canon, so... either's fine, I suppose. Didn't expect it to work so well when you were applying the makeup, but you're right, some extra layers made it match the lekku perfectly. It's not bad!
I was on performance dance so we were always doing crazy makeup. And I understand how hard it is to get it all off. I love how much fun you had with this video.
I love this video! I wanted to get myself some Lekku but was worried that the makeup wouldn’t look good, but you look great! Like you I have always pronounced it as Twi ( like pie) lek. Thank you so much for making this video, it helps so much to see how easy this was to accomplish, and how much fun you had doing it 😃
I use a light hand with the cake makeup and set it with blue pearlescent mica powder. Letting the powder provide the opacity and using less cake makep. It stays on better. Follow up with a good sealer spray like Ben Nye final seal for a long wearing paint job.
You look amazing!! I do say tw “I” lek. I do a twilek pretty regularly and if you ever need tips let me know! If you ever want a bigger pair, twilek Pam is the person to go to! If you set it will translucent powder and setting spray it won’t rub off Also if you wanna keep your beard you can totally lightly dip a comb in black water base paint. ✨ happy to see more male twi’leks!
Great job with the makeup. You did a great job getting it all even and a consistent color, and the match to the lekku was perfect as you said. I too say Twee-lek now. I've heard both in canon, so I think it's a personal preference. I can't recall hearing any actual Twilek's saying the word though, so that would be more definitive to me. I need to look for those Lightyear ships. I really dig the design of those, though I think I'd repaint them and give some weathering to really make them pop. I wish my Target's stocked the Bandai Mando models. I had to get mine online. Especially the 1/12 scale character models, they're like a superior Black Series figure that you get to build that has more detail and accessories.
Make up color looked good with the head piece. Definitely need different color for lips. I would so be buying those if I had a voyage booked. They need to make those in different colors! Even make a tan/nude color like they did for Jennifer Beals in Book of Boba Fett. Then wouldn’t need the makeup. I would love to have a pair in purple personally.
Good job! Looks great! Perfect color match! You can use that blue and be the genie of the lamp too! Male twi have ears showing. The female twi usually have those weird cup thingy over their ears. I’ve heard it said that it makes it hard to hear. Nice that it comes with the headband. All in all I think it’s not a bad price.
You blue it! I don’t want Pops either. Is Action Fleet now part of Disney and wow that Carbonized Scariff Trooper is probably the most well stocked figure I’ve seen in ages! Maybe it’s a pegwarmer?
I call them Twileks. Did you get waterbased or oilbased make up? Both come on and of easy but waterbased involves more skills when it comes to water and paint mix and it could come off if you sweat, or are in rain and it could smedge if you are unlucky. Oil based make up are easier to aply and come of easy when not set - But if its set it had to be removed with a remover. They set with setting powder and its higly recommended when you are in an enviroment like the starcruiser cause you are more proof to get paint on other costumes and parts. I bet my two cents that the captain and Gaya uses oilbased make up if they dont have a special thing like a mask going on. Johan.
I think we sat near you on Friday lunch and asked to take your picture. We were in the Tatooine tourist outfits and were so happy to see someone else go all out in costuming and wanted to take your picture. You looked great!
if youre concerned about your ears popping out, you could add on some ear decor...like egg shaped ear cups to cover over that eare and give more coverage. theyd be in character and "valid" design-wise.
That was great fun and the blue makeup looks fantastic. When you took off the head piece your face reminded me of the Disney ghosts from Haunted Mansion. I definitely enjoyed the different kind of video. Well worth the watch! Thanks for sharing. Oh, forgot to ask? What's the name of the pin you're wearing?
I think it looks cool as is. Don’t add color to the lips. Maybe continue the blue make up down and around the neck more and finish with a settling powder so it won’t smudge. Thank you for sharing this video - love it!💖
Twi'leks do have variations in color of their face. Their lips, around the eyes, cheeks, and even some shadow areas would have a darker hue. You get a better look by using shadows with make-up, since natural shadows from light sources don't work that great. I mean, look at art work. Darth Talon isn't just one shade of red and black. Maintaining the precise straight line was not easy. Again, great job! Additionally, I think Disney made a mistake limiting the Twi'lek headpiece to only blue, as we've seen numerous colored Twi'leks, including a pasty whatever you call Bib Fortuna's shade, orange (Cham Syndulla), light olive green (Hera Syndulla), turquoise (Numa, in Clone Wars & Rebels), and lastly purple (Gaya). So, doing only one color is a surprising limitation from Disney.
I have no plans do to star cruiser nonetheless I really enjoyed the video! This video does get me interested in Star Wars cosplay though. I don’t usually dress up for Halloween but I think i might this year and do something star-wars themed because I really love all of the creativity, customization, and cool props that you can choose from.
@@Dan-O yes! I recently visited galaxy’s edge for the first time (now that I’m finished with college and a have money)and it completely reignited my interests in the star-wars franchise! I will definitely be back very soon and a visit to Savi’s isn’t even a question.
You should do the toy search stuff with the makeup and head things on just to see if anyone notices. Also, are you going to review any Lightyear stuff, because that did look cool
I met Mathew Wood (Bib Fortuna and the voices of the Battle Droids and General Grievous) at a convention. I asked if it was pronounced “Twee-lek” or “Tw-eye-Lek” and he said George Lucas didn’t care. Everyone has their own dialect. Just how Lando pronounced “Han” different from the way Luke and Leia did.
Ouch, latex is a natural material that degrades over time. For $100 I would want it to last for many years. Nice job for a first time go on the makeup. As an ex LARPer, I have seen a lot worse efforts done. Liked & Shared the video.
You look like a good Twi'lek. I thought it would always look female but it does not. Btw I would shave the beard because Twi'leks don't have facial hair but it still looks really good and I love the goggles.
I usually say "twy" over "twee" thanks to English words like "twice" and "twilight" but I think it can be either because I remember both pronounciations were used in the Clone Wars (so it was either intentional that some characters said it wrong, or they just didn't care enough to correct the voice actors, LOL). I think you looked awesome, especially since it was your first try with makeup! I sense a Twi'lek smuggler character cosplay in your future?
I pronounce them Twee - lick. Although they could be pronounced either way since each species has a different pronunciation for names. I honestly think Gaya's lekku should have been this softer material instead of being stiff. Twi'lek's lehhu are meant to be soft and should move on their own very subtlely. They use them as part of their Rylothian language. To stiffen up the lekku just a little for a more fleshy feel, add a little more polyfill. It seems as they come, they seem too squishy and not have enough "brain material" that they should have.
You could have had your wife go with you so you can get the the stuff to apply the makeup and ask her to help you with your makeup next time it'll work way better your friend Draco
Nah we don’t go shopping together. We both keep pretty busy on weekends so when we are together we don’t squander that time at a store. But I should have at least texted her and asked. It was more fun this way.
Awesome.

@@Dan-O I personally want a fresh color and a nice green, maybe like Hera's green with the circle design.

You look like a good Twi'lek. I thought it would always look female but it does not. Btw I would shave the beard because Twi'leks don't have facial hair but it still looks really good and I love the goggles.
Does anyone else think of pickle rick when they see Twi'lek Dan-O or is that judt me?
Don-o both ways are correct way of say twi lek according to wookiepedia
So funny but it's great.
I think it depends on how your accent is of how you say Twi’lek
I thought u were accidentally giving us the finger at first. And I thought the blue was a gummy thing.
Reminds me of Han's name in Empire Strikes Back. 😆
💜💜💜
Do a smurf next!
Getting Papanpida vibes 🤣👍🤘 👌 awesome
So far in all the star wars games i played where they mention twi’leks they pronounce them twee lek.
Is the fam going with you to celebration??
Yup. Everyone is coming along for the celebration trip.
@@Dan-O can’t wait to see the videos!! You are the man 👊🏼
I always pronounced it like you, but I noticed that on mandol they said twee. I think it’s pronounced twee lek
Reminded me of arrested development
What's ur opinion of Jurassic park/ Jurassic World?
I love them. I did a ton of Jurassic World Fallen kingdom vids a few years back.
@@Dan-O oh. I have to go back and watch them now. When I'm done Bing watching star cruiser.
*binge
Tw-ie-lek
I always said twill ek lol
Smurf twee 😝
you look....blue, bro. i am trying my best not to laugh right now, i swear.
I’m blue if I was green I would die
🤣
You could have had your wife go with you so you can get the the stuff to apply the makeup and ask her to help you with your makeup next time it'll work way better your friend Draco
Nah we don’t go shopping together. We both keep pretty busy on weekends so when we are together we don’t squander that time at a store. But I should have at least texted her and asked. It was more fun this way.
My bad I hope you have fun with your twi'lek look you look awesome in it
twe lek
