This means a lot. Thank you. It’s really hard finding things now that we are in lockdown. I hope I can continue to provide good restorations. Thank you for your support.
Great job. Folding back the metal on the handles was my favorite part. Not everybody gets that some times you just have to get creative and make it your own. Excellent!
I seem to be the first :-). It seems to me that such ends of the lever slightly violate the style. And they can be a little traumatic for the palm with a lot of effort. Good painting. All in all a good job, as always.
I do like the ends, away to do that without having a lathe to copy the factory style, it's something I wouldn't have thought of. I just did it with regular nut threaded on and then peened over and filed round, acorn nuts would have been nice but didn't have any

Withthe bar looking like it is, it has made it useable for girls as the bar looks like it has bows on the ends. Should have powder coated it pink to match the bows.
I like the style of it, not sure if it really matches the rest of the clamp but it's cool looking. I personally have a modification I love to make on all my levers, whether they're clamps, vices, etc. I make an etching on the ends that is (depending on length) up to six inches long, and it's literally just a ruler marking. That's so I can make quick small measurements without having to move from my work area. I've always found it to be very helpful personally.
@@mytinyworkshop1213 Thanks. It was taught to me as a child by my grandfather, he had a real way with tools. I'm not nearly as good, but I know a lot of bits that help.
Nice job. My hobby is restoring vices and g clamps and you can get those handles straight and back to mirror polish without taking them apart. I’m about to do a number 0 or 2 1/2” Record vice so I will put my money where my mouth is and video it. It’s time to put back and start my own UA-cam channel. I’ve really enjoyed your channel and watching you convinced me to get a powder coating set up. So glad I did as I just love it. Cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺
This makes me happy. I have a weakness for vices. I’m so glad you have a powder coat setup. I wish I had one 10 years ago. I look forward to seeing your videos.
Does your wife know what you bake in her oven? Mine would make lots of roasts out of me for doing that. She almost did when I heat treated a few knives, they were her birthday presents.
Why? It can't hurt the oven any can it? I've used my oven for all KINDS of crafts. As long as it isn't something that will explode or overflow, what's the big deal?
Another very nice job. It may have been simple but it took a lot of time and effort to get such attractive results. I like the custom touch. I put a drop of light oil on the swivel of the clamp pad at the end of the screw. Thank you and best wishes from the USA.
142 likes in 2 hours says it all . Beautiful restoration of a very useful tool . I have 2 of this type of clamp . They are my go to clamps , l think it's time l showed these 80+ year olds a little respect and restored them .
That's a creative Tommy bar 👍🏻 How dies the powder coat adhere over the filler - the filler is not electrically conductive, so shouldn't electrostatically attract the powder?
Thank you very much. Not sure if you’ve seen my first videos. But my main pointer is to start with whatever equipment and knowledge you have. And just have fun. Do what you want and how you want. You will learn on way. I started with a pillar drill, a bucket of vinegar, and a basic knowledge of diy.
My tiny Workshop I currently do the restorations out of my one bedroom apartment that I share with my girlfriend but I’m hoping to get A house with her soon and work out of the garage!
I've never seen ends like that done before...I'm a purist, but I do like the end result, it doesn't look ugly. As for safety, you wore gloves, when you were using paint stripper, wear them with the parts washer too, mate. You do good work, and I'd hate to see you get cancer or have your hands wrinkled up and dyed yellow (which MEK will do, if you've ever used it).
just about everything is wrong with this...what is the point of using paint stripper....sand blasting will remove paint....the handle looks horrible it will be uncomfortable in use it's just a bloody clamp for christ sake they are always abused ...just oil the thread and give it a wipe over.... its not a work of art or do you just want to look at it and not use it
Fantastic just fantastic thanks for sharing and remember stay safe and make. 🍺🍺👍👍
Thank you
You need some file handles. Put a tang through your palm you will definitely know about it !
As you said a simple restoration but it was done well !! Good job ! Nice touch reworking the handle Looks great
Thank you. Glad you like the handle. Thats my favourite part.
Great little project and video, thanks for sharing
His channel is still underestimated. I hope there will be more subscriptions. And he often finds excellent old English iron for restoration.

Good painting.
All in all a good job,
Thank you
I like how you customed the winding part. Good job. 👍👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I really like your idea with the handle! Keep doing that fine work you do.
Great restoration but I respectfully vote no on the split handle.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I had to be creative since I didn’t know how to weld properly.
@@mytinyworkshop1213 I don’t know how to weld either. It is on my list of things to learn also.
I just bought a mig welder. Gonna start teaching myself. Hopefully it’s better and easier than arc welding.
That turned out well. Stay safe. Cheers
Thank you very much.

I agree about the style of the handle. But refreshing to se something new. Overall very nice work 👍🏼
Yes, medieval style lever...
Thanks. I wanted to break the norm and try something different. It’s not that bad on the palm.

I nearly went for a much simpler design. I didn’t want to settle for something simple though. It took me many days to figure out this design.
Save a lot of time in your vice by putting wooden jaw protection..saves damage to metal parts when clamped down
No. Just no......that lever needs traditional end caps.
I would love to hear the audio coming from this video
I know I asked you to bring home a blues record, but that wasn't what I meant.
Nicely done, sir. To bad you didn't paint the letters in white or gold.
Thank you. I’m not a fan of painting the letters.
Wowsa!

I would have painted the label in another colour, perhaps in white.
I’m not too keen on painted labels. I did do that in a couple of my earlier restorations though.

$2 at any flea market.
Funnily enough this is the most expensive clamp I’ve bought. Seems like rust cost more. I usually pay 50p - £2 for ones in nice original condition.
Talking money with restoration is useless. I'm also restoring things and not doing it for money, just a pleasure and once is done I feel so happy
