I haven't watched many of his videos but in one of mythicalsausage's, he effectively is either actually sent to or has some sort of vision (wouldn't say dream because he doesn't fall asleep during it, not sure how to explain it) of being sent to hermitcraft season 8 for a minute or so alongside bdubs, and sausage mentions that this has been happening SINCE THE RIFT SHOWED UP but this is the first time someone else came along. This effectively confirms that the rift has some influence outside of the portal itself. Which does make me believe that what happened with Xb was not some random dream and was definitely at bare minimum a dream influenced by the rift. Also as a sidenote, I think Ren's gigacorp plotline could be connected to the rift. Not entirely sure, mostly going off of memory for that, but I remember that there is some "coming darkness" or whatever gigacorp is trying to stop and that's what they are having ren work towards, and that really the coming darkness could have something to do with the rift or at least something connected to the rift plotline.
The last time I made a theory in your comment section it became real so I'm kind of scared to do the same again, but picture this... Grumbot is just lonely and wants some hugs.
Great the rift is really causing a lot of theorys to bounce all over the place. If the universe is in danger theory is true it would take them everything to fix that, from the gods and goddess from empires to the sever spying watchers. It's not going to be easy isn't it to get everyone together to fix this. On the bright side hermitcraft, evo, and the life series is connected in the same universe so a collision with them wouldn't be much of an effect.
