You will ask for the dog to calm down, quit jumping the fence, stop slipping its collar, etc. Never make a border collie a family pet! It's cruelty to the dog and will test your patience.
Oh, please no, no, no! These are working dogs; they need a daily high energy job. They will suffer greatly in a typical family pet role and the family will tire of them very quickly. Never get a border collie for a house pet! Please!

They’re probably the best dog, but only if you’ve got the time. They are too smart, energetic and athletic to be a house dog.

They make the most amazing companions! Had 4 and loved being a border collie Mom! You have to train them though otherwise they train you😅
