Impresario Mervyn Conn was responsible for staging the International Festivals of Country Music at the Wembley Arena, in London, for 23 years. The first festival was in 1969 with the final curtain falling in 1991.

This was such a treat to see Tanya Tucker doing such a lively good show. Life sometimes gives these artist a lot of hard knocks but she seems to keep going in these later years by still entertaining.
Peter Rowan was on Facebook live about a week ago. He is a old timer now. Glad to see and hear him when he was young.
Wish, they would have shown more on Tanya, as she certainly "looks as good as she sounds" (David Allan). Just an amazing performance from her. I saw her in Frankfurt at the same festival one or two weeks later and she wore a real tight golden suite and looks at least as great as in London. Since that appearance I became a fan of her - the fans went crazy as she did also some great rockin' stuff and a duett with David Allen Coe on "Would you lay with me".

Johnny Russell was not at this show as he was poorly and could not make the flight. O.B. McClinton was also supposed to be there that weekend, but died a few days earlier. Sad loss to Country Music.

I walked out on the portion of Jerry Lee Lewis. He did not do one single country song on his set. Seriously disappointing as he was a greet country singer when he wanted to be. I spent the time buying records instead.
