Today I talk about my full experience with the French Made Triangle 40th Anniversary Duetto speakers. These are hand made high end beauties that truly impressed me over the last 2-3 months.
In this video I share my experience with them, compare them and talk about the best amplification I found for them.
These may not be on many people's radar but I can say without question that these are truly fantastic speakers that have a wide open and very clear presentation. While they are not bright they are very clear and spatial as well. Never thin, hard nor of they ever dull. These will bring the goosebumps and a beautiful translucent sound to your room.
The parts and build quality are top rate, world class even. So what do the best Triangle bookshelf speakers sound like? Find out in today's video!
Enjoy!

Why is every speaker the best you've ever heard?!
The DHz Ambers and the Borresen x series are at the top of the list for someone wanting to build a rewarding system that is also impressive to others in the game... just saying.
It’s so simple Scott, you might experience the best thing happening at that moment, and you might find a better one the next day. e.g., food, cars, drinks, movies, books…
You've taken a lot of incoming for the promotional style reviews you do, but you don't censor your critics from my experience and that says a lot about you. I'm starting to think this passion of yours is genuine. Maybe you don't get kickbacks from any of these manufacturers as I assumed was likely happening. Your comment about Mark Levinson doubling the price on those Daniel Hertz speakers doesn't make sense if thats what was going on. Maybe I misjudged you. Liked and subscribed.
Had a demo yesterday, ordered a pair today, superb.
How are these speakers working out for you?
And what are you driving them with?
Thx
Hi, wie gut ist den Triangle 40 Duetto in Vergleich zu Klipsch Heresy IV ihrer Liebling Lautsprecher? MfG,
always liked Triangle, very underrated speakers !
They are indeed.
I have a pair of triangle bookshelf speakers and love
I can never understand why hobbyists say they don't feel the need for a subwoofer, especially with stand mount speakers like these, as if the sub-bass isn't really necessary.
Sub-bass has a time and place, but it gets in the way most of the time for my taste.
100% agree. Many audiophiles claim they want to hear the exact recording, nothing more or less, yet they don’t care if the lowest ranges are just missing?? And many times people want speakers that go up to 30khz or more when almost none of us can hear anything over 22k - I know I can no longer hear over 14k. I can sure feel bass under 20hz though, and I like it!
"Clear", "clarity", "never heard before details" usually (almost always) means raised treble. These wouldn't be the first speakers from Triangle with exaggerated treble.
These look a lot like my Bowers & Wilkins 705-S3 signatures. Similar wood effect. Gorgeous. Would need a sub with these I think. ( maybe not with the AGD?). I wonder how these Triangles sound compared to my B&W. If I didn’t already have my nice B&Ws, I’d buy these today.
Beautiful speakers! The stands not so much..
Triangle drivers take at least 120 hours of break in to get 90% of their potential.
Yep it feels like forever....but worth it.
I have broke in 4 different sets from these guys.
Check out the Magellan Cello, or the Delta Signature models.......amazing.
Love my Duetto's I've own 5 different Triangle models. This is the best yet.
How do they compare to a pair of Focal Sopra 1‘s?
Hi was just wondering, you're not interested in, or personally don't see value in CD players?
I truly admire TRIANGLE loudspeakers.
Nice looking speaker
bro is the ceiling caving in ?
Off-hand anyone know the diff between standard duetto and 40th? Im getting 40th-envy.
Gulf between comete and conete 40th was WIDE. Wondering the gap between duetto and duetto 40th..
Answering my own question after reading up last night. Triangle reworked the tweeter, the woofer in 40th and appears the crossover. Freq response and sensitivity seems unchanged, however their recommended amp power drops to 30W minimum with the 40th, while it's some 60-80W min with the standard Duetto. The binding posts look different on 40th too, and of course the aesthetics, finishes..
And min impedance seems lower on the non-40th. Guessing the tweeter and crossover mods yielded some efficiency gains with regards to impedance dips..
Why not show rew results?
How this compares to Daniel Hertz Eva?
I talk about this in the review.
The Eva's will roll up a triangle and smoke it.
@@gettcharged4982 not at all.
Can’t wait to hear about the comparison between these and the Borresen X2’s
The guys at Lone Crow are doing insane promos on a full Borresen and Axxess systems... OMG. Tell them I sent you!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
What ? No Grilles/Covers ???
Nicest finish I've ever seen on a speaker 👍🔥
It's pronounced "Sha-day"
Ahhh! Thanks.
It's Shar-Day actually. Her last name is pronounced Ah-Doo.
I love my triangle speakers
Wondering if these Duettos will associate properly with the Luxman 590axII in terms of overall balanced SQ?
Currently have some Signature Alphas. Thinking about picking up some Cello's. Love Triangle!
Does anyone know how these compare to the 40th edition comete? How about the “standard ” comete EZ? I have the Borea BR03s and love how they sound. I’m looking to upgrade them. I’m not ready to upgrade to the Duetos, yet, but the comete (40th or standard) looks very appealing. TIA
Sade is pronounced Shar-day, i have personally met her & worked on her Mercedes back in the late 80’s she is a really nice person one of the better celebs I’ve met. Smooth operator is my go to favourite 80’s track.
Exotic looking.
I have always wanted to hear older Triangle speakers from even like 40 years ago. Would love to hear all their past models because the company is renowned from way far back.
Better than Borresen M1 for 100 grand? That's what I like my ESL-63 forever (used for around $1500).
I agree your statements about Treble and foreward presentation of Triangle. And also that Yamaha amps match well with it. I have the Triangle Quatuors and blew B&W, SF and many other brands away.
I got Triangle magellan duetto sw2 would love to hear what these have on the older version.
I want those Duet Amps. Those seems REALLY great.
They are very special. Listening to them now. I go back and forth between them and the Audion but the duets are a bit more refined. The Audions are a little more soulful in the mids. Best amps I’ve ever heard. Also love the small size, absolute zero noise and the guy who makes them knows his stuff. This, I feel, is the future of audio amps.
I love my Comete speakers. The Duetto are on the future list.
Love them too, 40th comète here with L31 , perfect !
@@Skyouu One more time 40th Comete. Great speakers!
@@82ivaylo definitely ! The sound is huge for the price.
@@steven3557 I got them , it's very nice speakers.
@@steven3557 I love them. Very nice speakers, try them and you will see.
Beautiful
Thanks
Super happy with my Triangle Magellan Duetto SW2, Uses Musical fidelity with a lot of power! sounds fantastic!
That has to sound amazing.
Same here, 'Sade' or 'Sharde', I never know how to pronounce it.
"Sha-day.'
@@skrem23 ummm... no.... on my 1984 CD, it specifically reads "SADE (Shar-day) - Diamond Life" on the spine.... Tho it's possible the music group is Sharday and her name is Sade??
It’s pronounced Shar day, Sade is her name not the band. Sade Adu to be precise,i have personally met her & worked on her Mercedes in the late 80’s at the Mercedes dealership i worked at, she is one of the nicest celebs I’ve met & a great singer.
great rewiew as usual , maybe i ll go for the Duettos , thanks
I’m sitting right now listening to them. Can’t stop. They also sound great at night, lower volumes.
@@HiFiHuff That is a key piece of info. I think it's important to note whether or not a speaker plays well at low and/or high volumes, I would recommend including this attribute in future reviews.
I hope you can review the Audiovector R1 Arrete speakers. Best standmount speakers i owned, also better than the Børresen X1
Those are pretty
