I just totally downloaded this backing track and pulled up some effects and did a quick test then sang it and as you can tell, I didn't even know the ending. haha I even don't come in on the chorus at the end cuz I did not rehearse and wasn't sure when to come back in. But it's odd to try these w/o rehearsing because instead of spending a week on it to get that extra 5%... well, it's 20 minutes instead and eh, I did okay on this for the time I spent. Who can really sound like Bon Scott? You have to have a high as hell voice to begin with and a slimy sound. I haven't heard anyone sound much like him in any covers. I sound close in the choruses, I guess. Less so in the verses.
Just a quick huge THANK YOU to all who have watched and commented on this crazy attempt at singing Bon Scott. These vocal vids were all just experiments to see what I could do. I had and have no aspirations for doing any of this live - ever. With millions of views in the last two months, I cannot reply to comments as a rule so I wanted to say thank you all so much and know that I try to at least view a few comments now and then!!! I've always had this question, concept in my head, when I watch Neil Young, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, Hendrix- any of the greats. Alot of acdc covers catch the voice imitation, but not the pitch/tone. (most are flat or lacking extension). It's not a good cover if both voice and pitch are not spot-on. You nailed it both. This was one of the best.
This put a smile on my face. AC/DC ended for me when Bon Scott died.

I listened to all the Bon Scott stuff (still do), then Bon died and I couldn’t imagine anyone else in his place. Then came Back in Black and I though, damn...well, maybe that will work. The songs were great, Angus’s playing was a little more refined but he was still horsing around with his early/late timing and and kept his figity licks in there that I loved so well. Brian did an amazing job. Shockingly good album that’s still sounds great! Then, For Those About to Rock...well, it sounded like Back in Black but the songs weren’t as good. Spellbound is the only thing I still listen to, I lost interest after that but I gotta say I still love the guys and I’m glad they have had such great success, and I listen to the early stuff still, almost every day. (I just had to say all that because somehow I agree with both of you guys)
