To be fair if EA ran Duel Links we'd be paying for a pass fir each new world
I actually have fun leveling up the characters and stages. There is an actual sense of progression like pokemon. I honestly don't mind not having all the new cards when they are released as I am currently focusing on completing the card catalog (as much as I can). Duel links has become a collecting card game to me. No point in playing for real in kccups or anything. At least half of them are cheaters
@@itsmesteve1081 I basically only play KC-Cup for the gems, if at all. For me, it's also more about collecting cards. The problem with the level-up-rewards is that a lot of them suck. They've already removed the 300 free gems for reaching level 30 a long time ago and didn't bother with anything similar to the additional 50 gems as a side-reward. Duel Monsters' and GX' characters are at level 45 now. They could've easily added an additional gem-reward, since they only add 5 levels with each update.

I feel like the “more to do” in duel links is just more busywork though. I’d rather just craft the cards I want and then jump into competitive ladder rather than farm 8 hours to get a card I need. It’s just mindless grinding instead of playing the actual game

Yeah, Duel Links first and foremost was built like a mobile game, whereas Master Duel was built like a digital card game first.
Probably the best thing about it though was it allowed me to learn and experiment with certain archetypes that happen to be cheaper in this game than in master duel. It's where I got the idea to experiment with mecha phantom beast tetherwolf as a 1 card verte in master duel from.
casual ladder is probably enough to satisfy many players if konami wants to add it to the game

It would be nice if there was just a shitload more cosmetics and instead of buying them with gems better used on cards they each had an associated challenge. Maybe a mode to earn holo upgrades, maybe unlockable alternate artworks. Things that the lack of wouldn't prevent you from playing the game but still feel like a reward

Thats the point, isnt it? Its like Magic Arena. Thats one thing I do appreciate, its not that addictive. I can get by in Master Duel without either spending my money or feeling obligated to have to play constantly. Its not like a gacha game, I have other ways to build decks and I can even make alt accounts if i so choosed to.
same. I actually appreciate that Master Duel isn't that much of a FOMO gacha game. Duel Links on the other hand.... is still a FOMO gacha game with tons of farming
@@haydenlee8332 The amount of farming being necessary lessened a lot though. I barely farm any characters anymore because the rewards keep getting less interesting. The gacha-aspect is actually the most interesting part of Duel Links now, because PvP sucks. To be honest, PvP was never really fun to begin with, but even that has its good points sometimes. Long story short: I'm just accumulating gems to build the decks that I want to build. If they're competitively viable, it's fine. If they're not, it's also fine.

I honestly really like the low powered format of Duel Links. Plus they release cards much more frequently than master duel so the meta stays a lot more fresh

Yeah sure, technically it's more to do but in the end it's just more hoops to jump through to get enough gems in time for the deck you're working toward to get banned or power crept.

Duel Links is so much more fleshed out than Master Duel, it's silly. If it were easier to get cards, I might actually prefer it over the current version of Master Duel. There's just nothing to do in Master Duel outside of ranked duels, and even those are full of bots.

Can someone explain why he's playing Sartorius? Is it just to have something to pop with Metalfoes that's as unlikely as possible to help your opponent?
Yeah, the skill doesn't activate until your turn so your opponent can't destroy it if they go first.
Oh yeah, if you know this,
Metalfoes Mithrilium (the card who bounces back to the hand/extra deck):
it will only function when you have 2 Metafoes cards from the 'graveyard' to return them to the main deck .
Fusion summoning Metalfoes that is 'on field' will put the cards back to the 'extra deck zone' not to the 'graveyard'
The ways to put cards pendulum cards on the grave this would be:
XYZ cards detaching materials, using Painful Decision, and Fusion summoning from the hand.
The fusion cards we currently have are Metalfoes Fusion and Fullmetalfoes Fusion which fuses from hand and field.
Aside from these two cards we have Parametalfoes which gave Metalfoes their own food to do their Fusion summon shenanigans at MR5 after the Pendulum nerf.
Since the game is random at giving turns, popping your own scales isn't okay when the starting hands is 4-5 and the space is limited.
Currently, there is a one powerful card that will brick them and completely stop them from functioning if you are going first against them:
Xing Zheng Hu Replica, it targets a single facedown set card. Everytime they want to fusion stuff they first pop a face-up card draw from the main deck and show and set a card which gives you an opportunity to target that specific Fusion Card that stops them from fusion summoning and make them rely on their weak normal cards which only the highest attack of 2400.
I wish Master Duel had all the gimmicky shit that Duel Links had. And the music 😭
