Tyler and Kanye have sampled Bound by Ponderosa Twins so beautifully, it fits the narrative of IGOR with love and ends Yeezus in such an awesome way.
You know, the more I listen to Bound 2 and A Boy Is A Gun* next to each other, the more I realize that while I respect Kanye's sampling, Tyler truly knows how to use a sample to elevate a song without relying on it to make the song good. The "you started with a mere hello" sample is honestly incredible for both the narrative of the song and the follow-up vocals to show the deterioration of Tyler's relationship with this person. His optimism with the relationship mirroring the lyrics of Bound, only to subvert those lyrics with "a boy is a gun, no don't shoot me down." In just those few lyrics, it tells the complete narrative arc of not just the song, but the entire first half of Igor.
Edit: Yes, I get the point that Yeezus and Igor are completely different. This comment was made like a year ago after I had a traumatic breakup with a partner, so of course i was probably thinking that Igor was the deepest shit in the world. I still think at minimum that ABIAG definitely used the sample more dynamically regardless of intention, which is why I still consider it to be way more impressive than Bound 2. That said, outside of Wolf and Flower Boy, I definitely DO enjoy Kanye's discography more and even have started enjoying a lot of singles off Yeezus.

I actually agree though, after listening to the original bound, I do like it more than Kanye's flip. The magic of the song is in the sample, and Kanye's voice sort of ruins it for me. Bound > Bound 2.
