My dad went parasailing early 90s and went up 900ft he wanted to do it again but never got to and passed away last October. So I'm going parasailing for the first time this September going up 800ft and this flight is in memory of him I'm wearing purple swim trunks his favorite color and a rubber bracelet with his name and Correctional Officer rank (retired) with the State of Maryland.
Who woulda thunk it, I'm making a comment on your video a year later.
First, i want to thank you, you did an excellent job. Second, I'm so glad you did this. I'm actually from Ocean City and remember when this parasailing first got started. They had platforms in the Bay and you would launch off of those. They would then reel you back onto the platform. As it was new, they were still kinda experimenting and a friend of ours got seriously hurt when they brought her back down. The way they would bring people back down was not a proven method yet and they slammed her face into the reel as she got back to the platform. Her face was ripped up and several teeth were knocked out. I do not know the outcome as far as charges or even a lawsuit. I think you had to sign some sort of waiver back then and I don't know if you still have to do that. Either way, it is so much different and better now. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. It's really strange to think about how long ago it was and how much Ocean City has changed. Back then there were no such things as cell phones or video recorders, just 8mm film cameras and I don't know if anyone who ever took one of those up to film what it was like. In all the years I lived in OC I never went up on one of those things. As a "local" we who lived and worked there never really got chances to do what the "tourists" did. So this was really nice! 🙂

Been there. Done that. Solo. 1000'. (For comparison, Tri-Cities Airport is 833' elevation.) Great experience!
