- We react to Episode 72 of the BR Chopra Mahabharat, the first of three Episodes that cover the Bhagavad Gita spoken by Supreme Lord Krishna.
Plot: Arjun refuses to fight and kill his relatives and friends. Krishna tells him that “Atman (Soul) cannot be killed,” and advises Arjun to be strong. Krishna’s teaching to Arjun at the battlefield form the basis of the “Bhagawad Gita” (the Song of God).
The Mahābhārata is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India, the other being the Rāmāyaṇa. It narrates the struggle between two groups of cousins in the Kurukshetra War and the fates of the Kaurava and the Pāṇḍava princes and their successors. It also contains philosophical and devotional material, such as a discussion of the four "goals of life" or puruṣārtha. Among the principal works and stories in the Mahābhārata are the Bhagavad Gita, the story of Damayanti, the story of Shakuntala, the story of Pururava and Urvashi, the story of Savitri and Satyavan, the story of Kacha and Devayani, the story of Rishyasringa and an abbreviated version of the Rāmāyaṇa, often considered as works in their own right.

Nitish Kumar did Krishna's best ever roll and It seems as if Lord Krishna would have been looking exactly like that in Dwarpar Yug. I can recall 1989-90 when this serial was released and roads free of traffic at the time its episode was playing on TV. People every where stuck around TVs and Complete Silence all around.
May be it’s not said enough. Not just Nitish Kumar (Shri Krishna) but even Arjun is a fantastic actor, he is pleading like a real person in huge dilemma would. He is supposed to represent all of us in this world, and he does it beautifully.
All actors who played major characters are great actors. Just look at Mukesh Khanna sahab who played Gangaputra Bhishma.

I appreciate the expressions in the episodes because they feel genuine and unfiltered. I've revisited episodes 72, 73, and 74 numerous times, especially. The conversations between Lord Krishna and Arjuna give me goosebumps every time I listen. BR Chopra's presentation is truly remarkable. Hare Krishna.
