Yes sleep is a luxury, I need narcotics to sleep. It’s been this way for over 30 yrs. It’s prescribed and only a small amount as needed. And it’s needed every night.
@@ChildofGodforevr - I, too, have the suffering (and it is suffering) of not being able to fall asleep or stay asleep. I have not tried meds beyond melatonin, which is very, very iffy. Sleep meds could probably help me, too.

EDiiTzZ97 - Please get your condition treated. Left untreated, it can lead to high blood pressure, stroke, perhaps even sudden death as your heart rate becomes more unstable during periods without oxygen. It can be a widow maker.

Had never read the book, only watched the movie. My favorite part was the backstory of the tin wood man, his empathy, and his love for the munchkin maiden. Was disappointed in the end that he made no mention of going back to her.

I love this story ... so much better than the film imo but then books are always better than the movie...
I always liked the China town, as well as the extra minions the witch had. The poor bees especially, they just ineffectively die attacking the one guy out of them all that they can’t even damage.
Sure they were going to try to kill whoever they saw when they got there, but still it’s kind of funny in a sad way that they just die like that.
I had no idea that the book was so very different from the movie. This is nearly a brand new story to me.

I never knew the original Baum version before, so thank you for that. (I fell asleep before Dorothy found the Scarecrow and had to rewind this morning so I could finish the story. ^_^ )
This should prove to people who get so angry with filmmakers for changing a book in order to create a film (two vastly different medias), that such changes can still produce a great film!

I want to let you know that I’m having a lot of trouble sleeping but that you’re comforting me while I can’t sleep and when I fall asleep and I wake up and I’m scared your voice in the rain comforts me and it’s like I can feel your spirit with the intention of it to help us who are listening. I really feel that you sincerely care and I’m so grateful for you. I hope you never need comforting as much as I do but I hope that if you do it arrives immediately❤

I love listening to your books as we fall to sleep. My son is 4 and we listen to "big kid books" as we fall asleep. It helps him sleep so much better.
That's adorable! I've been really taken with some of these "big kid books", they're really special and surprisingly deep and moving some of them! (The Wind in the Willows and Narnia have been great)

Your voice is soothing ... but you could go a little slower, not in a hurry you know...
Some of these are from the beginning of the podcast when I still read a little bit fast, we are 140+ episodes deep now so have slowed down a lot and got a better cadence, this was like first 10 episodes or something
You can slow it down. Go to the three dots on the top left side they will be a drop-down menu to slow it down. Hope this helps
Just go to settings and click playback speed and click 0.75x
The only down side is that you have to go back and restart the story LOL Between the reading and the rain, it doesn't take me long to drop off. Thanks so much :)

Found your channel by accident, listen to a lot of radio plays etc after lunch when i relax and sit quiet before afternoon tea, I had 'The Wizard of Oz' book when I was in junior school, always remember the differences from the classic Judy Garland & Margaret Hamilton 'Wizard of Oz' film i knew so well, with TV so awful now, your channel is very welcomed and have to say beautifully read.
