I think best way to explain his style is an afro fusion with reggae and the most essential part is the addition of his native sound and language... There are popular houses of worship called the prayer house (teke wari) were they sing songs mostly that sounds like his they call them Spirit songs hence you hear him say 'teme' (spirit). The women in his songs Moses are legendary Prayer song leads, okrika ijaw is his native town. He has talked about it in some of his interviews.
