  • Monday will be a calm, quiet and cooler day before our storm chances return on Tuesday. Lows dropped into the 40s and 50s overnight, but Monday will warm up with a high in the upper 70s to low 80s. It will be brisk Monday morning, but we'll be in the 70s by 11 a.m. The day will be dry overall, but clouds will increase throughout the day and a few light showers are possible late Monday night. On Tuesday, grab your umbrella! There is an 80% chance for showers and storms, and rain looks likely on and off throughout the day with a few thunderstorms mixed in.
Areas south of the Triangle are under a Level 1 risk for severe weather on Tuesday, including parts of Moore, Hoke, Cumberland and Sampson counties. Highs will be cooler, in the low to mid 70s, with cloudy skies. The rain will stick around Wednesday, but it will be slightly hotter, with highs in the 80s. There is a Level 1 risk for severe weather in our eastern counties. Thursday will be mostly dry, then rain stays in the forecast Friday through Saturday.
Over the next five days, some areas could see more than 1.5 inches of rain. We could use the rain as there is a slight rainfall deficit at RDU and Fayetteville. After Tuesday, the humidity will also be higher for the rest of the week. Temperatures will be hot but not as hot as they have been, with highs in the low to mid 80s most of the week.
