- CIS Energy Research Director Aidan Morrison says the Coalition’s recent announcement of the potential locations for nuclear reactors was “very brave”.
“I think that takes quite a bit of courage to say these are the places where it might be because it gives rise to the possibility that people in those individual electorates don’t like it or activists that ship to those spaces to try and create the impression that it’s not wanted by the community,” he told Sky News host Steve Price.
“I think it’s a very bold move.”
A brave politician is what Australia needs - instead of wishy washy toss-pot.
The man has a pennis for a head you can't be serious.
brave. and stupid.
Vote the Big D for PM.
Dutton is a monarchist. The spinless coward grovels to a foreign king because he is too gutless to back Australia.
That's right he did such a wonderful job as Home affairs minister...I wouldn't let him look after my dog.
$100Bn for 7 reactors or one submarine? I know which deal I'd rather have.
With the costs of nuclear plants overseas, no way will you get 7 reactors for just $100b. That is why Dutton won't tell us what his nuclear plan will cost.
@@emperordalektardisI agree it probably would 100 billion for 1 or 2 its more expensive just to have one
@@emperordalektardisleast it will be reliable. Sick and tired of the scare mongers
@@emperordalektardis What tripe. Where is Labors costing > Still waiting, because they have NFI either. Dutton is "planning", where as Albo and Bowen fly by the seat of their pants on taxpayers money. Go Dutton.

About time Australia cut the life line to international multi millionaires. How long is tax dollar's going to be tipped down an enless pit.
What is the Labor costings for there renewable rollout? A
Probably a lot cheaper.
Don't bet on that ,Nuclear power is cheaper that unless wind and solar that will never work. End up like the phone system that is a mess.
Tonight's episode of 'Sky's Most Triggered' is about to start.
Who will be the next Lucille?
The squealing porker strikes again
France charges A$0.32 per kWh for electricity produced from mostly (70%) nuclear reactors.
Australia charges between $0.25 to $0.45 per kWh depending what state you live in.
So nuclear definitely is not expensive to produce per kWh.
quality analysis
Back during the early 1980s, forty years ago, T. Boone Pickens built a very large windmill turbine farm west of Abilene and east of Sweetwater in Texas along Interstate 20. During the early 1980s Texas Utilities (TXU) built Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station, the two nuclear power plants built adjacent to each other, a twin plant produces 3.5 Gigawatts of electricity near Glen Rose, Texas. Comanche Peak is still operational whereas the large windmill turbine farm has been recently demolished with the windmill blades lying on the ground in a dump. The windmill turbine blades have not been recycled or disposed of as yet...
Makes me laugh ….
Albo doesn’t even realise we have had a reactor in Sydney for over 60 years
Been dealing with waste
Been dealing with transport and other logistics and all under his nose with no problems
All his arguments are automatically null and void as this is what’s been happening…
Grow up Albo
The scary monster was near your house all you life and even you haven’t grown two heads !!!
(Unless the surgeon did really good work cutting it off)
WELL DUTTON YOU KEEP GOING FIGHTING FOR NUCLEAR I SEE THAT YOU GET MY VOTE BUT YOU MUST DO HARDER TO DROP LABOR FOR GOOD
Dutton is a monarchist. The spinless coward grovels to a foreign king because he is too gutless to back Australia.
Safe enough to power our new submarines its safe enough to power our country.
WITH NUCLEAR YOU ARE FIFTY YEARS BEHIND ! THAT IS WHAT WE DID; HERE IN EUROPE; IN THE 70 ,80 ; AND WE ARE TRYING TO GET RID OF IT !
THE FUTURE IS IN SUN AND WIND ENERGY; BOTH OF WHICH AUSTRALIA HAS A LOT OF AND A LOT OF UNUSED DESERT LAND TO LOCATE IT; TOO !
Then why my bills doubled 😂
Have you worked out how much petrol we need to burn to get workers out to middle of desert or 20Km out of ocean for the ocean windmills
@@philiprachtman1217 YOU BUILD THE PLANT ONCE AND GET ENERGY FOR DECADES ! FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH BUILDING THE NUCLEAR POWER STATION
WILL TAKE ON MATERIAL AND MOST IMPORTANT THE STORAGE OF THE USED MATERIAL !
Australia is a big country if you build the solar farm yo will also need to build a town for the workers and have them fly in out each week
@@philiprachtman1217 You would better build a nuclear pp far out in a desert as well, because of its danger ! Here in Austria; we were victims of the
Tschernobyl desaster and it was decided ;in a rferendum; NOT to operate the one Nuclear power plant, which was built on the demand of the almighty
Labour PM Kreisky in the seventies. The plant is now a memorial and shown to school classes as an example of human stupidity !
Pauline has more backbone than any other politician. We need a PM with the same.
Anyone that is serious about the environment should endorse nuclear power
So every state gets a nuclear reactor except Tasmania which is powered by renewable energy.🤨
Sky just about used up all the deflection stories, better bring Harry back.
Do you not know what a "deflection" is?
Who gave Dutton the permittion to declare nuclear sites. Did it come from Dutton, or the international nuclear regulating body.
How do you know when you have received a fatal dose of radiation ?
Will he use Bill Gates technology . You use his software 😅
Nuclear Power Stations - what is possible - The new power stations will be funded during the building and commissioning stages by the Taxpayer.
Once de-bugging is completed, and they are operational and profitable - The LNP can sell them at a discount to private investors.
Once the life is expired and the Nuclear Power Station needs to be decommissioned - an expensive loss making activity - the Taxpayer will most likely be required to stump up the decommissioning and fuel disposal costs. This is what is possible!
Dutton would be lucky to get even one or two nuclear power stations up in 20 years. They will never get 7. And the 1 or 2 they build will be shoddy due to i nexperience with nuclear. They will build new hugely polluting coal power stations to cover the failure with nuclear.
shhhh too much common sense
