Been a huge fan since Ren introduced us to not only an amazing musician but an amazing individual. Reaching out to help others with addiction problems suicidal thoughts ect. Being so open and honest about your hardships in life. I have finally come to the conclusion I'm an addict. I always considered myself a functioning user. Kept a job, took care of my family, but I recently lost my job and I Can see this perfect storm of unfortunate event weighing so heavily on my my chest. With no way to pay my rent with the turmoil my wife and I are going through I don't even know how to approach her. Her faith in me already dwindled.... I need help but I don't know how or where to start... I'm not asking for money or anything like that.... I just feel lost and alone, more scared and just trying to breath seems like a task now, keeping all my self depreciating thoughts at bay an impossibility as they move to the front of my thoughts. I come from an age probably similar to yours that made showing your thoughts or emotions made you weak made you less of a man... I don't even know how to function is this state of mind.
Hey danrandell I hear how you’re struggling. I’m in a different struggle but I can relate to your comment. Don’t be down on yourself, if you are you will feel like a failure everyday and that will lead to the spiralling. You are hurting. Most people self medicate due to sone trauma, maybe you have had trauma and you need to begin your recovery with self compassion. Do at least listen to say Gabor Mate on trauma. I understand there is a whole generation (s) of men who were raised to be a big boy a little soldier, pull your socks up school of therapy. See a therapist a humanistic therapist. I know funds are low but there are not for profit agencies if you are in the uk. But if not I’m pretty confident that you could find someone in your country. Peace and light 🎈🎈🎈
