Thanks for the video!! This is helpful,!! My automatic is a TH400, I am ordering the Mr. Gasket 7668, Shifter today from Amazon!! I t will replace a worn, and poorly installed column shifter out of a neewer pickup, (not the right Colum) The last shifter I did wa a B&M "T" Handle ratchet style shifter, (They are GREAT but 3 TIMES this cost!!) The Mr. gasket one should work great, as it's longer!! The truck is a 90's P-30 Chevy Step van, so there's LOTS of room, and the floor is dead flat everywhere :)
9:48 .. One time I was swapping a Chevy Square Body pickup, from automatic, to manual transmission! When i started cutting the Sheet metal (like this) ... It seemed a bit thick?? I cut a 1 1/2" long slot 1/8" wide in the top of the cast iron Transmission!! :( ( A BIG Muncie with Bull low first gear) .. I literally put Hot Glue in the newly cut groove, to keep dust and sand out (that's all had) , and left it! .. I was still working fine 10 years later! :) My friend was there helping at the time, and afterwards, he'd often tell the story ... how I just Hot Glue a transmission together if it's been damaged :)
