I can't wait to play a match where someone builds a death star and everyone works together to stop it from firing. I would love to make temporary alliances as a feature of the game, so everyone can fight a common enemy while not worrying about them shooting eachother.

This game should be in development for another year or so. Galactic War is a joke, unit diversity is non-existent, it lags in places it... really shouldn't and it feels like an alpha still, generally speaking. One of the worst Total Annihilation style games I have ever played.

probably because we have tele nows and that shooting bots from a moon that constantly move around the planet would be less efficient i see it like that
thesuperpierre59 The advantage of Unit Cannon is that you don't need anything at the other point. For teleporter to work you need to have a teleporter at both places. They already said several times that they will eventually implement Unit Cannon and they will do many more improvements in other parts of the game. Just by the way I am a backer myself and I've been playing PA since Beta and it is honestly turning out to be quite a good game although it still has occasional glitches.
i agree with your points, but what is most important is optimization which the game still lacks.while the game is super friggin awesome, it just sucks when you are in a long game and suddenly everything starts to lag bc PC's can't keep up or the servers can't. Which leads us to the point that there still is no real offline-game, if i'm not mistaken
Products have actual "release dates" if you like it or not, stuff is going to be released. Its not like you cant patch a game. Ofcourse that sucks, but its just how the world works, release date has a important meaning, delay costs money and its not a trivial amount of money. As it is, the game delivers, if you really thought it would be "finished" at release you would be quite naive.
I get your points but the problem for me really is optimization. ofc patches are coming, but if you give a game golden status atleast make the parts fully playable that are already there. i can wait for unit cannons but i think it will put the game in a bad light when they release it in such state. (btw excuse my english)
Robert Oortwijn maybe you misinterpreted, "When it's done" is supposed to mean that not everything is set to be released at a certain time, not even at launch. They even stated that they will be adding things after launch.
Why are there no planet to planet artillery like forged alliance(haven't played it in a while correct me if Im wrong) and no energy shields(better if they add some may mess around with the balance)and what happen to the big units?what where they called?experamentals or something any way where are they?other wise solid game
SC FA has no "Planet to planet artillery" that's what moons and the annihilaser are for, and the devs stated that there will be NO energy shields in game. Also experimental units are for SC only. PA does not need them. If you want a SC FA like game go and get SC FA. PA is a different game entirely.

Was that actually the intial premise? Looking at the kickstarter's info the "Metal planets are wandering relics of wars long past, giant artificial battle stations that can be recycled or reactivated to bring a new level of destruction. Harness the lost knowledge and brute power of the ancients by repairing their installations. Then take over the control structures and rain destruction on your opponents." As you can see the laser cannon is what they meant from "rain destruction". I could be wrong and if you have a dev that says the metal planets were going to be metal anywhere then link me please.
Gorkounov I just thought that been as the game is a sequel of the best RTS ever made "Total Annihilation" In which being on a metal map beant that extractors could be built anywhere and everywhere that in Planetary annihilation the same would happen. Honestly I'd rather use a moon to destroy another planet rather than a laser cannon and use the metal planets for resources.

Can you guys make few types of nukes ? Like cheaper for one s that have small range and low damage , and very expensive for high range and high damage . And can you guys make a unit that can travel on lava? Like super hard lava ships?
if they actually make human resources they may or may not be able to style it as a prequel to PA, merely because you can say that mankind retook control of their machines, and fearful of what lay in the stars wanted to be sure none could assail them again, and you can have the current state of the galaxy be due to man attempting extermination of the old ones, you can go further and have a PA game in the future featuring the old ones or a variant of them as an enemy, along with other commanders, that would be an epic slugfest.
Overal the game was solid last time I tested it, it could still use some work in finer details but the majority of the game felt good. The AI pathing, especially naval needed a big workover the last time I tested it a few weeks ago. Because they changed from a 2d navigation map to a 3d voxel based one I later found out, and it still had some bugs. that said, i'm not sure if they were ready for launch. I could still walk on lava in lava maps for example, unless that was intentional.
If these are actual in-game graphics then I really like the visual style of this game. Edit: After checking out multiple examples of actual gameplay footage in a few 'Play' videos; while the game may be using the same models and assets as seen in the trailer, everything just looks a lot more appealing in the trailer imo because you don't really see those more cinematic and dynamic viewpoints when you are actually playing for the most part. Everything is usually zoomed out pretty far based on all the gameplay videos I've watched, so it basically looks like a totally different game. A kinda generic looking sci-fi real time strategy game, again imo. All the HUD/GUI stuff that's additionally overlaid on top during actual gameplay doesn't really help either. What you end up seeing in reality is usually a relatively simple looking planet, zoomed pretty far out, and a whole bunch of moving icons, indicators and other boring HUD/GUI stuff. What a pity :-(

Supcom 2, Unit Cannons, everyone hated the game, community dried up real fast. P.A. has factory mass production and stargates, interplanetary builders....who needs a unit cannon? most games are going to be won long before most people can build and power one anyway. PLUS ASTEROID COLLISIONS AND DEATH STARS
this is long out since oktober ... novus aterno from what i see plays also different ... so honestly i don´t see a reason to not get both ... you can always wait for discounts planetary annihilation is about playing with armies on spherical planets where you can be attacked and attack from any direction with the exception of from below a planets surface .... there wont be startrek/starwars or conflict: frontier wars spacebattles in the vanillagame .. PA rather uses "satalite"spacecraft novus aterno seems to be focused torwards spacefleetbattles ...
I love this game!!! But i miss more units and factions (two, at least) with different look (may be the same units, but with different styles). With that, this game would be perfect!
