Coming back to this moment people keep saying Jason said he would never be with Carly again. The reason he said it was because how much it hurt him. The reason it hurt so much was because how much he loved her. People act like he was just sleeping with her but they loved each other. They loved each other so much that they both had to put it away. They are bringing it out again 20 years later lets see how it plays out. My only fear is Jason will get hurt again. I think he was too afraid to admit how much he actually loved Carly but now he can.
Carly will always belong with Sonny. Jason has always been loyal, he thought his bestfriend was dead, it took months before he started to fall in love with her again, then when Sonny came back he backed away because he knew that CarSon belong together and knowing his bestfriend was alive he wouldn't betray him and be with Carly. Carly wanted her husbandz the love of her life, she would have never married Jason if she knew he was alive and not dead.
So she's held him captive like a Stockholm syndrome victim for 20 years. While she interfered in every relationship he has ever had. Meanwhile she slept her way with every Port Charles man over the age of 12. AJ, Sonny, Zander, Alcazar, Jax, Johnny Zachara and Franco while she kept him as her part time eunuch. Ah, the cherry on the top let's not forget his twin Drew. 🙄 Jason doesn't need another chance with Carly he need some time in Shadybrooks and some hard sessions with Kevin Collins. He actually abandoned his kids for Carly 🤢
Every time I watch this scene I get something new about the Jason Carly relationship. He was in love with her but he couldn't handled being hurt by her so that door closed. I don't think he ever did that with any other woman - not Ronin, not Liz, not Sam. Carly is his truest love because he loved and trusted her BUT he knew that she could break him.

They did not break up because they didn't love each other. Jason had asked her to marry him. It was for Jake's sake. When Michael was shot in the head, Carly realized the danger she put her own kids in and she apologized to Elizabeth.

Jason and Carly got married though recently because they thought Sonny was dead, brought together by their grief and to consolidate power, but we will see how this plays out. He was going to tell Carly he was falling in love with her but found her in Sonny’s shirt, then he got angry and realized that he didn’t want Carly to wreck him, like Robin did. So his romantic feelings for her were gone and sealed once Sonny told him she was pregnant. They should be even because Sonny gave him Sam while pregnant. Jason and Carly got married though recently because they thought Sonny was dead, brought together by their grief and to consolidate power, but we will see how this plays out. If old feelings come back.

No, Sam did not sleep with Ric to hurt Jason. She had just come off of a terrible fight with Alexis where she called Sam trash among other things. It was Alexis she was trying to hurt, not Jason. But you could say Jason slept with Liz to hurt Sam because he saw Sam and Ric together.
