While watching, the accent was somehow until I realized it’s Ghanaian. And then I came to appreciate you guys more and more and more and this guy acting the king gosh, your talent is raw 🎉
Awesome to know this is happening here! We read Ola R. God's are not to blame as our textbook in Ghana. The Wise sayings are mind blowing! I remember " If you think to have heavy suspicion is wisdom, then your head is not well"
Indeed! The gods are not to blame. I have read the book many times but it never seems as I did today. Thanks a lot for the movie. This is sure inspiring!
Very well done! Watched this from Abuja, Nigeria. I'm helping a class of primary school kids interpret this story and your play helped a great deal. Congratulations!
Thank you very much. This is an outstanding performance. Watched and now have full understanding of the book. I read the book in 1982 for my final secondary school exam but didn't get the story clearly. God bless you children and bless the organisers.
Well done guys this is well presented. I am twice impressed recognising the fact that the casts are predominantly Ghanaians renouncing yoruba words well. Thanks ❤
Good mastery of the lines and top of the line acting especially in the final third - at the revelation of the curse. Brilliant directing (delivers on the nuances of Yoruba cultural instincts). The drumming is Yoruba, the dancing is Yoruba; but the general accent is not. Camerawork missed the subject at times but framed the action well. Dance choreography at new king's inauguration could've been more elaborate. The wardrobe / technology issue at Kábíyèsí's conflict with Adérọ́pò was a near-disaster. The troupe deserves a resounding round of applause. As Ọmọ O'òduà who taught the literature book in high school and staged it at various schools in the early '80s, I salute your effort. More information on the cast and crew in the video description for deserved credit please. Good job, Ghana!
"When the wood insect gathers sticks, on its own head it carries them." The gods never lie, never blame them for human frailties. When kids read this book and watch this play, they'll have a deeper understanding of the book.
Producer: please permit me to write this: This Story/Drama deserves a better presentation and acting. Whether as a stage play as it is written or can be developed into a proper Movie Production just as was done in the Novel "Things Fall Apart". Please represent thins Epic Literature piece better. Thank you.
I hope you are enjoying the lovely play/movie. Please subscribe, comment and click the like button. Thanks
