From a metalhead: These lads are from a place called Mount Druitt in Western Sydney. West Syd has a reputation for violence even though it is not as bad as it used to be. But some part of it still have issues with crime. I don’t listen to a lot of drill when I listen to rap but these guys are just mad good and have great bars. They have had a lot of pressure put on them by the Cops and that’s why some of them wear masks (part of their parole or good behaviour bonds were to disassociate with ONEFOUR). They had an Aus tour shut down by the cops and they got arrested for breaking parole or the bonds. On the tour they played one show in New Zealand with a members brother rapping on behalf of all of them from what I understand. These rulings are stupid as fuck, one of them appealed it and was told he can go back to making music but constructing creativity as a part of a legal proceeding should never be on the table for a judge. It’s an outlet for every emotion and experience, dudes telling stories about what happens in West Syd man, that’s the reality of it.
