I met John Fogerty in Chicago yesterday. He was finishing his lunch (I waited, obviously) and then introduced myself and thanked him for his amazing music and incredible talent. He was kind, gracious, self effacing and genuine. I could hear some of his conversation, too, and he continually praised other musicians he had played with. Pretty great guy as far as I could see.
tommy trucker I couldn't agree more, you simply don't flash pics when he's sitting there performing this with just his guitar. It was a moment that was ruined by bad judgement
If your heart isn’t lifted when hearing John play then you have no soul. Within 30 seconds I swear all the crap we have had to endure over the last three months just left me and let me breath again, thanks John 😊🇬🇧👍
I always found it amazing they never had a #1 hit, and yet we were all singing their stuff. The reason …? It was a time where there was so much great music being put out, they just sort of got lost in the shuffle. But,...…...great music never dies. We are still singing CCR songs.
My dad got me into CCR when I was really little. To this day, I believe that CCR was the greatest group that ever existed! Thank you, Mr. Fogerty! A true legend!
A simply angelic voice. Have seen him 12 times. He seems come to Boston every other year or so. Him and Kenny Arranoff. Then his Son came along. What a long Strange trip it’s been for John Fogerty. God Bless Him.
yet they never had a #1 song,,, go figure, shows how messed up the music industry is. they had a ton of amazing songs, when theres so many bands that are lucky to have 1 hit
I love you John Fogerty for your talent, genuine touch, and your humanity ❤. Thank you for bringing light and joy to the world. Your more amazing now than you've ever been. You are one of the greats!
Saw a few years ago in Tuscaloosa Alabama, they were perfect and it was a thrill for me and my family. Been listening to his music for over 50 years and it never gets old!
I was born 87, but I love the greatest hits of CCR since around 2000. I always wished I would have experienced this time with bands like CCR and the Stones :( They feel more natural and real than most of the music today.
he needed to get this performance out. i can only imagine how much he must love playing these songs, seeing everyone feel the music along with him. beautiful
When we lose John Fogerty it will be a sad day indeed. Thanks to my parents I grew up listening to this man in the 80s as they had all his albums (CCR's) and plenty of his 45s.
This man is a legend so glad I grew up around my uncles and my dad they listen to this and many other great bands CCR is a band from the cornerstone of my memory and he’s still got it!
Whoever decided that showing old pics and video that you can find anywhere whilst John Fogerty was playing live needs to have a change of job . That was appalling . Some people have not got a clue .
The photos were actually done by the person who reuploaded this segment. They do it to avoid copyright infringement from TeamCoco. The full unedited performance is actually on Teamcocos youtube page.
I just searched on Team Cocos channel, but the only video they have of John Fogerty is a snippet from this interview that doesn't include him singing this song.
I had a motorcycle crash too. Nothing too serious fortunately but I can feel you. Music has strong power and not everyone knows it. Sending my best wishes and support even if I don't know you. Hope you're doing better. Cheers :D

Awesome! Pure greatness! The people that wanted to show the pic clips instead of John playing should be fired! You just don’t hear music like that these days. 👍
Thank you, I am one of those, but don't like to talk about it much. Always liked Creedence and Fogerty, he is a vet from Northern California like me and of Irish heritage also like me. Can't figure out where he got his southern accent though :-)
Imagine if you had John as a best friend, and you're driving down the road and you ask him to sing you Down On The Corner, or Lodi or Run Through The Jungle? You wouldn't need a radio, you go the CCR right there in your car with you.
He plays the shit out of that guitar! Makes it give everything it's got. He plays it hard. I bet those strings have never been played that hard and that box has never had that much force pushed into it. A good guitar is like a good horse; it rises up to what is demanded of it
John Fogerty is a legend.
Legends
A fucking Legend.
A mother-fucking legend.
John fogerty
He sure is.
Imagine over 50 years later and his voice is still that good. Incredible!
A true guitar player always has a pick in their pocket!

True guitar players dont need one
And about 40 in the clothes dryer
@@bonvct So you must be able to shred on an electric pretty good using finger picking. I'd love to hear you sometime
You know a guitar 🎸 player who doesn’t have a pick in their pocket Mark Knopfler.
Damn! Dude’s in his mid 70s and his voice still sounds very clean and strong live. Kudos to him!
Jesse O'Reilly , he actually sounds better than he has in the best .
That is just my humble opinion of course , but then again what do I know . Sorry

What a shame John Fogerty playing live , and they show us pics !!!!!! ...Still wonderful
would have liked to watch him though ..

All he needed was a guitar and his voice, and bang! Wow!
yeah the few seconds they showed him was incredible to watch.
@hhhk20 nice lie lol
@hhhk20 Lol 😀😁😃! Your hearing is old & weak.
No auto-tune, no beats, just a man with his voice, a guitar, and his talent. Thank you, Mr. Fogerty, for filling my life with great music.
Great man, and still sings high and loud, love it. Been a fan for 45 years.
Peik Stenberg
Actually I'd say he's lost his ragged Edge which I thought he'd be able to keep
You'll be lucky if your edge is as ragged as this at 70 dude.
@@johnc1975 I think he meant he can't sing with his trademark distortion anymore. He can only sing clean now.

I do not care what they say, at 25 years old I love this music. Completely relaxed, there are no words to describe this ... Simply the best..
He's my favorite musician, I love Creedence Clearwater Revival!

without John Fogerty there is no CCR

U damn right.

This man has kept his voice in incredible condition. He’s a true legend.
Still sings it flawlessly, in the original key...genius.
A simply angelic voice. Have seen him 12 times. He seems come to Boston every other year or so. Him and Kenny Arranoff. Then his Son came along. What a long Strange trip it’s been for John Fogerty. God Bless Him.
It is very hard to belive that CCR never has a number one hit.Just goes to prove there is some stupid jerks in the rating booth..
Probably because they put classics on both sides of the single, splitting the play time. This tune was the B side to Travelin' Band for example.
5 number 2s though.
Jimmy Gilstrap But they songs are more remains that Many, Many number One.
What the fuck, for real
wtf? Thats news to me because they have a shit ton of hits IMO.
My dad had the greatest respect for this man. He would call him The Great John Fogerty. Love you, Dad.

"John Fogerty" should play the Superbowl !!!
Could you imagine a super bowl with John, ZZ Top and ACDC. Holy shit!
I'd like to see John Mayer just go bezerk. Imagine him just shredding his guitar to bits during the halftime show. I'd pay good money for that.
hando88c I'd watch that

No ccr should reunite and play at superbowl
The sounds that echo through my mind as I think of my childhood. This band is an integral part of our lives. We owe them for that.

Saw him in concert. He is among the best performers I have seen.
Just saw him at New Orleans Jazzfest this year and he was AWESOME!! LIVING LEGEND!
