Prologue “Si può?… si può?”
I Pagliacci; R. Leoncavallo
Reginald Smith, Jr. Baritone
Welsh National Opera Orchestra
Michael Christie Conductor
Finally someone who knows what he is singing about and delivers the Prologue in a personal and natural way. Most either imitate, aren't really involved, have weird 'i am a baritone' mannerisms or 'look i am singing' posturing. So that is really really great! I do find the voice a tad laboured sounding at times, but hard to really 'judge' from a recording.
Rather touching, and there should also be an award for the most resplendent jacket!
What a beautiful bariton voice! perfecty knows when to use chest or head voice, has also a perfect control of low and high register.
Grear singer!
Too bad the anemic public's applause. He deserved an exoloiding ovation..
What the hell kind of applause was that?????? no one yelled so I will BRAVO BRAVISSIMO!!!!!!!!! having performed this aria myself many times I know how difficult it is
Lovely!
Would really love to see him do the role!
What a voice!!!
BRAVO ! BRAVO !
he reminds me to Leonard Warren , fantastic rendition
So beautifully sung😅.
This was awesome. Your voice reminds me of some of the old school great recordings of this aria. Total Leonard Warren vibes
Bravo
Fine singing. Ice cold applause, wonder why?
What a beautiful voice.
wonderful! but Why is there so little applause?
Excellent baritone in the Verdi tradition.
