Currently, I'm running Drain Crown on Cinderace as the only healing it has is Feint (when upgraded). I will now admit that it could maybe use a buff, unless the devs expect us all to run this on Garchomp. Though, I'll also admit that I've already upgraded Drain Crown to grade 30 (which is what I typically like doing, as I get Item Enhancers quite a lot, either as rewards or through Aeos Tickets). On the other hand, My Rapid-Fire Scarf is only grade 5, as I initially thought the attack speed cap was going to interfere with its main effect, hence why I chose to upgrade Drain Crown first. Is that actually the case, though? No, I'm seriously asking. Does Rapid-Fire Scarf break the attack speed cap of a pokemon?
I use drain criwn weakness policy/focus band, attack weight, and potion on mamo. It adds a little bit of survivability in 1v1 or 1v2 fights that has saved me countless times.
I think that drain crown and rapid fire scarf were meant for mainly garchomp, decidueye and cinderace. There value has really gone up after the release of these items. I'm glad they finally buffed cinder.
Drain crown sounded really good on paper especially if you combined it with rapid fire scarf but 10% just isn't enough. I'm kinda glad that it wasn't broken though, healing items can be really annoying when they're over tuned. Also kinda just randomly thought of this but the drain crown is kind of the opposite of leftovers.
You’d think it would feel stronger. For reference, one of the stronger lifesteal items in league of legends is like 20%, and the average item that is lifesteal-based is usually 8-14%
I think that Duraladon with crit emblems, drain crown, rf scarf and scope lens really heals a sizeable amount. But tbh because we have like float stone you can just like run after hitting a dragon pulse after healing and and you can also use DTail to take a jump back. Its better to run back than heal. But it is visible on Dura
It truly does feel like drain crown was made for garchomp, while it may not be amazing on other mons anything that helps garchomp is certainly welcome in my books, our chompy boy is finally good!
@@aitorchul2262 Yeah like what people need to realize is it's more efficient to kill faster than it is to sustain. Garchomp already has enough sustain to win a 1v1 or to heal off creeps after skirmishes, his bigger issue is killing people fast enough before they disengage.
Aegislash seems like it would be a pretty decent pokemon to have Drain Crown on. It lets you heal in Sword Form while dealing damage, and it could between dying or not as a lot of the time you barely have any health once you get to shield form so it could be a bit useful with extra healing.
I've been doing great with drain crown, scope, attack weight, and crit emblems. Getting large groups of pokemon w/ fast 2k crits is actually very good for his sustain.
As a sword main, I think what I'm noticing is that I'm getting more healing by having larger attack than drain crown. Or more sustain from focus band in terms of overall healing in the game versus drain crown.
i was curious about this!! im a sword main as well and only just recently realized it could be good, but after hearing the stats in this vid it discourages me sm
For those who want to know in shield form I haven't seen it clearly but it doesn't heal on DMG to multiple enemies it might be a bug so in sword mode you get 100-200 heal per boosted and normal attacks sometimes don't proc drain crown while the shield form gives 30-50 more healing over the natural 600-1000 passive heal
I’m not an Aegi main, but I tried Aegi with Drain Crown today and preferred Focus Band way more instead. I used Rapid Fire Scarf, Scope Lens, and Focus Band 😅
Decidueye with Drain Crown feels nice especially with the fact that it’s basic attacks already have lifesteal and stacks well when you’re positioned properly and against multiple enemies like the Altaria and Swablus. I’ve recovered more than half of my health just farming the birds, and that’s without Razor Leaf too.
Yes!! I was about to comment that if your HP is low, instead of returning to base to heal, drain crown lets keep farming and healing while also leveling up. I still like other items better personally but I see the utility of drain crown.
@@adamaragon1350 I see it like this : on scope lens the additional 12 % critical damage are so useful you really see a difference and for me it’s the same thing on azu even with the original healing with aqua tail
@@samichukwins2696 I'm speaking only of drain crown which is what I replied to. The "extra healing" from drown crown will not reach 10k. A focus band gives more than 10k typically. Focus beats drain
The thing about drain crown is that lifesteal scales off the attack stat, so replacing drain crown for more attack will increase healing on top of a higher damage output, i tried running it or razor leaf decidueye then replaced it for other attack items and srsly didnt see a decrease in healing numbers
I believe Decidueye actually does benefit quite a bit from drain crown for one reason; popping razor leaf on a group of birds heals you pretty much back to full from 0 health. This is really important for a character with middling mobility like decidueye as you don't have to go to base nearly as often in the middle/late game phases. If drain crown becomes much more powerful I could see this being super viable
I think it works well too, I love playing jungle with it but you really need a tank or supporter with you to get really good value in team fights. Decid is too squishy :/ I’ve had better luck with a full atk build.
No that's not drain crown. He does that healing anyway. He has natural lifesteal on basic attacks WITHOUT drain crown. The amount you lifesteal is based on how much damage you do. So the more damage you do the more he heals by default therefore you want to maximise damage to heal the most with decidueye. Scope lens/muscle band/attack weight is the best. Or if you don't wanna stack focus band is way better.
@@SenpaiTorpidDOW It is, just not only drain crown since the effects stack on top of the damage boost from drain crown. Its noticeably faster, especially with max attack speed where it just becomes completely nuts.
I’ve been using drain crown/muscle band/scope lens on azumarill. Aqua tail basics do massive damage, and despite what you’re saying, it does in fact seem like drain crown itself heals a lot on top of the crit damage and muscle band
I absolutely adore drain crown on duraludon, it feels so good to out heal the damage people throw at me, I’ve survived so many fights purely on the healing or been able to take on multiple enemies at the same time because of the healing
Drain Crown is definitely a trap. It's incredibly low value unless you're specifically trying to abuse it on a Pokémon like Garchomp. Let's look at Scizor, who's a popular pick with this item for some reason. Shoutout to Scizor's boosted attack not even dealing increased damage compared to its basic attack and it's even more baffling that so many people are looking at this combination. But don't worry, I've already done the math for you. At level 11, it learns Bullet Punch+, giving us these numbers... 735 Healed w/ Weakness Policy(0 stacks) 740 Healed w/ Drain Crown 34 Healed per basic attack w/ Drain Crown At first glance, you might think this makes Drain Crown look better as a survivability item, but it's not. *Simply wearing Weakness Policy gives 210 HP base stat compared to Drain Crown's 120 HP, which means Drain Crown must heal at least 90 HP to make up the difference.* Scizor must land 3(!) basic attacks in addition to Bullet Punch+ to even compete with a Weakness Policy AT ZERO STACKS. And don't get me started on Weakness Policy WITH stacks. +3% Attack per stack is obviously much higher than Drain Crown's flat +3. tl;dr: Drain Crown isn't just bad on Pokémon that aren't built for it like Scizor and Trevenant, it's completely outclassed. It's literally worse at helping you survive than a Weakness Policy that doesn't have any ability text. Please just run Focus Band if you want more survivability~
aegislash is actually something i felt drain crown nice on, while it might not be noticeable at first i feel it gives you a bit more survivability especially after while you wait to recharge your boosted attacks with wide guard/iron head
I think drain crown works well with snorlax. He’s actually the first mon I tried with drain crown. Since (My) Day 1 I’ve loved Flailax, and that’s never gonna stop. Having that little bit of extra sustainability at low health goes a long way for Flailax, which is why I like it on him. I acknowledge that some other items may be better for him, such as Focus Band, or even aeos cookie, but I still think that is pretty good on him. Another mon I could see doing very well with it (havent tried it yet) is Outrage Dragonite. It feels very similar to Garchomp and Flailax and should work similarly, however it just doesn’t get talked about much.
Drain crown does work with Zeraora Spark which does help a little because it counts as a basic attack but drain crown just really mostly work on range attackers. Melee attackers are prone to CC which reduces the value. If you are not attacking, you are not healing.
I think Azumarill with aqua tail is great with drain crown purely because you're just adding to the lifesteal of the move, pretty unkillable against more than one target where Azumarill usually gets taken advantage of
Yeah it adds more healing but just go back to the math... you need to do 100k damage just to recover 10k. In my opinion investing a held item for very low recovery just isn't worth it
@@Michael-lu7xp yeah, the totally isnt good, but, What the item is useful for is that life that heals you within the combat period, it can make you survive
I feel like muscle band is just better than crown if you want damage, and if you want heal just take the focus band. This item definitely needs a buff.
I used drain crown with greninja, i feel like although it helps greninja with sustain its not worth picking over something like attack weight or scope lens
I think people are sleeping on the fact that the drain crown could really benefit defenders like mamoswine to stay alive and possibly serve as more of a brawler. love ur vids
@@sonofben9766 exactly I feel like most ppl are walking past the fact that even if they did alot of damage, high damage games are around 100k+, you'd only recover 10k the whole game, it's just not useful rn with any mon
@@Dan-xj6oy I have tested DC on mamo a few games. I typically run Aeos Cookie/Focus Band/Muscle Band. I replaced FB at first and I found I just had too much hp for the miniscule hp DC was restoring that I wished I had FB back. Next few games I did exactly that. Goodbye big beefy Aeos Cookie, hello a little more sustainability. I ended up feeling like I dying way faster than I was used to but when I had a support with it, total game changer. I run mostly soloQ tho, I've gone back to my OG build, but am currently seeing how Attack Scarf is replacing MB (so far not a fan)
@@Dan-xj6oy Its useful for those that already have decent life steal to stack with, so basically just Decidueye. Its ok with Garchomp and Azumarill but nothing you'd feel like you can't live without. Defenders just have too much HP to notice, even on something like flail Snorlax where you'd think it'd at least help sustain your low-HP rampage a bit longer.
I’m a garchomp main, as soon as this item came out I did the math and realized that the healing would be abismal, and was no better is practice. I think the very best Pokémon this Pokémon work on are the ranged attackers who are squishier and deal damage.
And what about Dragonite with Outrage ? It seems pretty solid to me with Dragon Dance or even Extreme Speed to get the bulk ! With extra boosted auto attack and the stun, you heal a lot I'm interested to know your opinion about it (Is this comment works for Urshifu giveaway?)
Drain Crown on DD/Outrage Dragonite is a great combo. Works best when outnumbered. And pairs great with RFS. Dragonite just starts swinging haymakers at a high rate
Outrage Dnite I think is one of few cases where it makes reasonable sense to run Drain Crown since he hyperscales durability from his Multiscale passive and has a lot of lockdown from RFS Boosted Electrics. You still have to weigh that against running other damage items though which is generally the biggest problem with Drain Crown.
@@A2ZOMG It is a hard choice. It's definitely the number 3 on my DD/Out Drago, but when getting so many hits per sec along with the crit chances, it can really save ya. But it's definitely the #3..
@@HeretikErik Yeah especially if you're running Scope Lens, crits with Drain Crown often can make up for defensive items. It's the kind of build where you benefit an especially huge amount if you can get defensive supports to shield you from burst damage. I personally play Espeed to double down a bit on the durability side with X attack to further boost my all-in/objective shred.
@@A2ZOMG Definitely. And with each hit, Outrage and DD cooldown. And the longer fight, the faster and harder the swings become. And with the movement of DD to cross up and dodge attacks, it just meshes well.
I tried drain clown on aegi after I saw a video of the great Phil yoummus using it on it and i think it helped me quite a bit as its bosted basic deals a lot of dmg but still i think I will recommend using another item over for drain crown for everymon. It works best on chompy boy and aside from chomp and azu(aqua tail) no one takes benefit of the item that much but i will rather run other item like a weakness or focus over crown.
There are a handful of builds that I think Drain Crown holds a legitimate spot in and the ones I don’t hear talked about as much are Flail Snorlax and Outrage Dragonite. These brawl type characters do so much damage with their basics and rely on the healing they receive from them to stay well enough alive. Much like Garchomp, the extra healing from Draining Crown can be pivotal as it dives on top of a squishy mon to attempt to out damage them. My honorable mention for this item is Flash Cannon Duraludon. A lot of people don’t realize just how much Flash Cannon can do with its piercing boosted auto attacks and that it’s second move always prepares a booster immediately. My favorite combo is using Flash Cannon with Stealth Rocks to get 3 additional boosted autos in a row and those autos hitting at 1-1.5k per auto will out trade any squishy mon and a lot of bruisers as well. With the piercing auto and specific positioning, you can out trade entire teams with Draining Crown. With that being said, for Duraludon, Draining Crown is just facing too much competition. Staple items for this Pokémon are Muscle Band and Scope Lens, so Draining crown is trying to win a single flex spot over the likes of Razor Claw which also works very well for this build, Attack Weight, and the other new item Rapid Fire Scarf. Snorlax and Dragonite have a little more build flexibility to fit Draining Crown but Duraludon often cannot afford to run it over something else
I love that drain crown has made garchomp a bit stronger, although i totally agree it’s underwhelming compared to the rapid scarf. It’s been so fun to try it on all the different mons though. Thanks for another great vid as always
I've tried the Drain Crown a bit on Garchomp, who you said it'd probably be best with, but with its natural healing, you almost must as well get more damage, or an item to give you the chance to hit more, like Razor Claw. I thought DC was going to be OP at first but 10% does indeed seem a bit small to play much of a role when there are other excellent items to pick.
I think drain crown not made for squishy hitter like attacker(they die faster than they can heal, better use dmg item for faster kill). I think it specially made for all rounder, one that you don't mention is dragonite. I think Outrage-DD gonna be good with extra sustain it get from drain crown
Seeing lifesteal and items like drain crown get introduced to the game, makes me wonder if more anti-heal moves and/or items will be introduced sooner than later as well (especially if drain crown and leftovers get buffed to be quite usable items)
I think Zeraora with Volt Switch/Discharge works really well with the Drain Crown. Since he is a speedster he has one of the highest base attack stats and his passive increases it further when he takes damage. On top of that, he jumps in with Volt Switch and gets increased auto attack speed and wants sustain while using his Discharge(eww).
Besides garchomp, I think the best user of drain crown is aegislash, since it's basics hit for a extra percentage of the enemy's hp, which gives you a little burst of healing. But as you said, focus band heals you much more, so even when it's good it's also outclassed by other items
i think the issue with drain crown is that damage is so high, any of the characters who would want to use it get one shot before getting too much use out of it ontop of getting no benefit from the item if you're at full hp. it's mostly gonna make sure you're a bit more healthy after a fight you'd already win, rather than being the deciding factor of if you'd win. if they want the item to be better they can turn life steal into one of it's stats, and make the effect a shield for excess healing. yes basically bloodthirster from league, (or an assault vest you generate by doing damage, for those who don't play league) but it's a good item that'd give squishier characters a bit of a buffer, especially if they stacked the shield on wild pokemon before a skirmish, they could keep upping the shield until it got broken. once it's broken it'd be healing. either max hp scaling on the shield, or a flat amount, it also has the benefit of not just shutting down burst characters like absol who is supposed to one shot someone like decidueye and cinderace unless he whiffs or gets outplayed pretty hard. but allows them to trade and sustain better.
I think drain crown work really well with Duraludon & dragon build. I use crown, scarf & muscle/scope with full heal. Duraludon constantly does basic attack, whether to shred objectives or to attack enemies. When a close range pokemon (e.g. Tsareena) gets on top of you, it gives you a bit more survivability. Focus can heal a lot, but the cool down is way too long in comparison to crown, which constantly keep on healing. Lately I've been playing a lot of Duraludon with thia build.
Love the content Spragels!! I used Drain Crown some with Garchomp but essentially switched it out after a little while. As someone who mained defenders for so long, I'm stoked that Garchomp is on an upswing!
I feel like Charizard and Dragonite could be alright with drain crown because I remember something about Char losing its true dmg which would allow drain to proc more, but I'm also pretty sure they both have some form of natural life steal so idk
I have found drain crown and rapid scarf kind of nice on dragonite actually. The faster boosted attacks with dragon dance is kind of nutty. Dragonite also has some lifesteal, so try it out :p
I could see Drain Crown working on Tsareena where you run it on a Triple Axel build with Rapid Fire Scarf to throw as much damage as possible out thanks to basic attacks.
ive been using drain crown for my decidueye and it seems to help a little bit when paired with the scarf, i tend to last a bit longer in battles. i agree that it's very hyper-specific for garchomp but i think it's possible the item can get indirectly buffed through the release of more basic-attack focused pokemon in the future
I think drain crown works.pretty well on Dragonite, specially i play extreme speed outrage Dragonite, and Drain crown, focus and muscle band improves the build a lot
I think crustle could actually pair pretty well with the drain crown. You can get some huge basic attack damage with the crit build and the healing can help you stay alive longer.
I feel like it COULD be okay with Dragapult since that Pokémon’s kit basically revolves around primarily basic attacks but with how bad it seems to be across the board and we can’t actually properly test it yet, it remains to be seen.
In a way, it heals you as much as shell bell does but for physical attacks rather than special attacks. No one ever equips shell bell for the healing, maybe for the cool-down reduction and special attack stat.
I am really enjoying the crown on Garchomp. To run out from battle and heal to full on the nearest swarm of birds is great. Also in hopes of winning I'd say crown on a mamoswine could be a real way to play, he can output insane damage and take use of extra heals as the team tank.
I think zeraora is good with drain crown. Spark deals nice damage and heals you with basic attack 15%. With razor claw you do more damage and of course more healing. Put drain crown on zera you got 25% healing and do more damage because of attack stat. Edit: i tested it and its crazy amount of healing. Third item miscle for more damage and more healing or weakness policy also more healing because of more damage if you get wp proc.
If they would add an additional effect on it like Haas Claws on MLBB it would be usable. With Haas Claws, once your HP goes on a certain threshold, the life steal percentage goes up a significant amount. Obviously they need to add a cooldown to make it not OP. In MLBB, once your HP drops to that certain level, you can easily life steal to full hp once the effect activates.
For me a decent pick for drain crown is pursuit absol as you have to hit your basic attack button for pursuit and since the second part of pursuit is technically an "attack-based basic attack" and it does alot of damage especially with a critical emblem build you'd be healing alot when you hit multiple enemies with one pursuit. Only problem is that you are very squishy so even if you land a pursuit you'd still get kod pretty easily
I havent tried it yet but Scizor is an auto attack spammer who already gets some recovery from his basic attacks and he does 2 basic attacks after using an ability. So although 10% isnt much, if you add it ON TOP of his base Lifesteal, i can see some potential there. At level 13 youre getting 25% back for every hit. This just allows you to stay alive until your next BPunch is up for your main recovery. Idk how good it would be and which item it replaces, but i can see some sleeping potential there. Maybe paired with the scarf for even faster auto attacks/even more recovery? Something like Crown/Scarf/Muscle or Focus band? Ill have to try but theres some interesting synergy here
Attack Weight, Muscle Band, Drain Crown (Used to be Weakness Policy) on Tyranitar has been doing me quite well. Increases survivability until becoming Godzilla, and then he/she has natural life steal (15% at level 13, which I have little to no trouble reaching in SoloQ) so it pairs well
With the burning scarf I'm hitting 180k damage in matches with cinder. I was considering trying the drain crown alongside it to see if it will help squishy bunny live a little longer in those tight team fights.
I'm still learning the ins and outs of the game, but I would think maybe Azmuriil would benefit well from it. Particularly with Aqua tail. Maybe fusing the healing of the attack with Drain Crown could create a nice regen boost?
Your friendly Neiborhood Buzzwole main here awkwardly chiming in- SO, from using only a level 20 drain crown on him I certainly notice a difference in the amount of healing he dose. Having it for the start of a standard game is super nice as it helps heal any damage done by wild Pokémon while also helping give you a small life buffer when in mid battle. I personally like using it on him along with leech life so I can get that nice healing balance. Although, it does not heal enough (at least the level 20 Drain crown) to keep me alive when fighting mono-e-mono with a Scizor.
2:30 This makes me wonder how much damage we do to wild pokemon and how it compares to how much we do to opponents (which is what we see as "damage done" in the results screen). I can imagine we probably do 2x the amount of damage to wild. So maybe a 100k damage game would be like 300k damage to all types of pokemon, But still, what matters is how much heal/sustain you can have in battle. To me it seems like focus band outclasses it and drain crown serves more like a leftovers type of item where it can save you some time from having to base by attacking wild pokemon. The benefit of this over leftovers is that you must be in combat to gain health rather than the opposite, which is what you want so you can constantly gain levels and unite move charge.
Prolly Cinder, you can artificially buff the Basic attack speed of every pokemon now so it makes it MORE viable but only if you go that way. It's highly dependent on whether or not you damage comes from abilities or those basic attacks
I tried out Drain Crown on Aqua Tail Azu and it felt pretty good. I compared the healing before and after I switched my Muscle Band out for the Drain Crown and it significantly increased (30k-40k to 50k-60k). But your video makes me reconsider the item. Indeed the math sounds horrible. I also can't decide ingame if I want to go Whirlpool instead of Aqua Tail, e.g. when Sableye is around. One benefit is, if I'm not totally mistaken, that the heal procs against wild Pokémon as well. But now I will test this item with a more critical view than before. Thanks for your video!
I think any damage-healing type item should be carefully implemented, since the only real healing reduction in game at the moment is delphox unite and kinda rocky helmet (since it reflect some damage receive to the attacker) Unless there was a conceivable way to stop healing, any mechanism that adds vampirism to attacks have the potential to break the game by making some mons simply immortal
i've played aegislash for a long time and it really needed a third actually good item along with focus band and weakness policy, and so far it works well with those to keep yourself alive
I love using drain crown on trevenant! The extra 10% along with hornleech and passive gives trev great sustain. I’ve gotten so many pentas/quads after I started using this item. 😊
Honestly? Outrage Dragonite with Rapid Fire Scarf, Muscle Band, and Drain Crown is a pretty nifty combo. I maaaaay swap Drain Crown for Scope Lens, but I’m not sure atm.
If they could add a defense item that would increase our defense everytime we use a Skill or basic attack, similar to Bruteforce Chestplate in MLBB. Haas Claws(similar to Drain Crown, but the lifesteal % would increase if your HP dropped a certain amount) and Bruteforce are both items I use when I use a basic attack dependent MM because Bruteforce not only increases your Defense every attack or basic attack but it increases your movement speed also so you could move while dealing damage
I think Cinderace, Greninja, Decidueye, and Duraludon as ADCs work well with Drain Crown. It helps them recover during a team-fight if they get poked or jumped on but escape, they just have to hit enemies whether it’s the players or farm. The problem is just that Drain Crown isn’t good enough to replace Muscle Band, Scope Lens, or Rapid-Fire Scarf. I was hoping to replace Muscle Band with Drain Crown since an ADC doesn’t need the 3% missing HP damage as much due to critical-hits hitting like a truck. That does raise the question of how Drain Crown exactly works. Does it affect additional damage from basic attacks and Boosted attacks? If that’s the case, Greninja might get a fair bit of recovery from its missing HP damage; Unite-DB website specifically noted for Greninja “calculated as auto attack damage and subject to auto attack effects”. And what about Garchomp from its 10% remaining HP damage during its Boosted? Also it’s a crime that Drain Crown doesn’t work on Tyranitar’s true damage. I was thinking between it and Focus Band it would get a lot more sustain. And I was using Rapid-Fire Scarf so it would basic attack a lot, which really helps Tyranitar’s Unite move too. For Tyranitar, I feel like its Unite move was always the shiny but impractical toy in its kit. It just doesn’t do enough damage before enemy players run away. With how clunky Tyranitar can feel, the Unite move was all the worse for me. So now I run Muscle Band, Rapid-Fire Scarf, Focus Band and X Attack though Full-Heal would probably be more optimal. It helps Larvitar’s and Pupitar’s clear speed and makes you hit harder during ganks. And the Unite move is so much easier to use. I recommend trying it Spragels.
Drain crown on outrage dragonite Combined with multiscale, blue boosted healing, and some lifesteal it can make use of it similar to garchomp with the damage from his boosted autos If using dragon dance % attack increase, especially with scope lens crits and razor boosted autos on top of one of the higher attacks in the game all boosting your auto damage, I've found drain crown to make a consistent noticeable difference in fights. Is it enough to Trump focus band? I'm unsure quite yet and need more testing, but it's a really fun build so far
I originally thought trev would use drain crown well, but it really isn't basic attacking enough to take benefit AND it already has healing in its kit. Maybe duraludon could benefit if paired with some basic attack items even if you're sacrificing items for its damage
I finally got to masters yesterday. I run muscle, rapid, crown Decidueye and the thing I like about crown is I get the early sustain to try to punish stackers while my duo stacks usually making opponents late to bees and I can 1v1 objectives especially Regileki. Idk though, unlike everyone else I run SS not razor leaf so I can outrange Espeon, physical attackers, get picks and steal objectives.
Drain Crown feels really nice on Cinderace, especially when you put rapid fire scarf with it. The quick attacking and the healing you get from it make it less squishy, especially early game when Scorbunny and Raboot aren't incredible.
I feel like Drain Crown works pretty well on Aegislash. You do a bunch of basics and a ton of damage with them. I’ve also been trying it out on Azumaril (Aqua Tail) but it hasn’t been as useful as I’ve maybe wished it would be. Something I’ve been absolutely loving it on is Dragonite (Hyper Beam). Dragonite really benefits from basic attacks and I can really feel the scarf! However, something I’ve noticed is that I seem to be healing at least double the amount when attacking wild Pokémon compared to enemy Pokémon. It feels a bit bugged in my opinion and I hope they either fix it or there’s some sort of valid reason as to why the healing on enemy’s is almost nonexistent when it heal some insane amounts of of wild mons. I feel like the entire game in general is really buggy rn. Most of it seems to have happened after the recent Christmas update. Your “Favourite Pokémon” tab is completely false and ruined, the matchmaking is worse than ever, even to the point of having Masters match with Beginners, the profile sometimes bugging and as earlier mentioned Drain Crown seemingly being bugged. I’m having trouble playing UNITE at the moment even though it’s definitely one of my favourite games ever and having played every day since March. I sincerely hope they fix most of these problems in the next update but currently all we can do is hope.
I can see how it could in theory be good on Venusaur because you are auto-attacking a lot, especially with the Petal dance build. On your boosted, you'd get a stun, additional damage, and then on the other autos that do less damage you get healing.
Drain crown paired with a rapid fire scarf and muscle band on Machamp has been working well for me so far. His build already has life steal in the late game and it really shows in team fights around Rayquaza.
I like the drain crown on decidueye with razor leaf. Since decidueye is so squishy and its life steal is already high, the drain crown keeps you around long enough for the kill. Especially if there's more than 1 target.
I truly haven't noticed it's effects that much. I mostly just miss having more damage on pokemon like cinder, deci, or when I play char. My friend who plays Aegislash says he's been loving it though!
Pursuit Absol with Drain Crown could work (since Pursuit counts as a basic attack). You can heal alot of health with it (200-300 HP) due to the high crit damage and the resets, especially against tanks. However, Absol should focus on damage items instead anyway, so it would already be better to run the Rapid-Fire Scarf instead.
I’ve been using drain crown and rapid fire scarf on garchomp, I like the sustain of the natural lifesteal and drain crown but I haven’t played enough different items to know if I wanna keep the drain crown equipped
Duraludon works very well with the drain crown, however you still would want to run a different item for it to gain crit or faster attack speed. I think a unique option however is pokemon with no natural lifesteal, especially ones with big bursts. While not optimal I think a drain crown zoroark would be a unique concept to help with it's squishiness though it would lower it's damage a lot, but if you can get big groups with your first night slash hits you'd be able to ensure you get the final hit and don't die mid combo.
I think drain crown can work on Greedent with it’s high hp pool and a rapid fire scarf makes a ton of berries show up through boosted attacks. So you’re healing up while you’re brawling.
I think the drain crown was made for rapid strike Urshifu. The boosted attacks between surging strikes heal so much and play out very well to the playstyle "all time fighting" of Rapid strike build.
I disagree. Urshifu is already very tough early game and doesnt need the crown and then he kind of flattens out late game so the crown wouldn't really help. Just an opinion though I could be wrong
I think Cut & Feint attack Zoro with razor and drain might be cool. It could help with some slight healing between the cut resets and dashes, and could give him just a little more hp to survive a fight
I’ve been using drain crown on e speed outrage Dragonite as a defender stun build. With weakness policy and outrage shield, you last a lot longer than most opponents expect. I’ve having heaps of fun getting some surprising KO’s!
I think part of the problem here is just the numbers, as you say, the number itself is very tiny, but compared to the overall numbers of health pokemon have, and the cadency at which you can autoattack, doesn’t pay off on squishy pokemon, never worth it, they will 100 to 0 u before drain crown starts to compensate for it
It sounds good on paper, but like you said it just doesn’t heal enough. It would obviously be better if they raised the healing % a bit. It just doesn’t seem like it’s good enough to replace any of the items that you are probably already using. I thought it might be good on something like Greninja, but I’ve been running Scope, Muscle, Amp so which of those do you replace? Since they are adding so many new items, these 2 then I think there are 4 more that were datamined, it would be great to have another item slot.
It feels like drain crown is only meant to be an added bonus to the rlly fast attackers and doesn't open up new ways of play. I've found it to work really well on scyther though, as it uses it's big basics after each move due to technician
I think the drain crown goes best on Decidueye Razor Leaf BUT it is still a bit of a let down. When you face multiples enemies it is a great way to stay alive a little bit longer especially if you also equip muscle band and Rapid-Fire Scarf. The problem is that Decidueye is painfully weak and so even if you have the possibility to gain a lot of HP, chances are that you will die the moment you are a little bit too close. You would also need to set up your boosted attacs and Scarf before entering the fight bring out the full potential which, to be fair, is not very frequent in the Sky Ruins arena where there is not a lot of big swarm of wild pokemon except for the alterias. The quick arenas are better for this kind of build. Plus, on a personnal note, Decidueye is best from afar with the spirit shucles when a good snipe can change the fight without risking your life. PS: Love your videos ! Great way to know a lot about the games and good builds when there is so much choices for each pokemon and so much to know ! Keep up the good work 🤩
I think Outrage Dragonite could be very strong with it. At least after the few test games I did. Thank you for explaining the item I really misunderstood it at first
I think Azumarill works well with drain crown. Because the moves whirlpool and aqua tail already do healing, so the drain crown is extra bits of healing on top of that while you’re already doing damage.
Giveaway info later in the vid. Will announce the winner on twitter twitter.com/spragels
Can you try if drain crown heals you more if you use trick with hoopa and with allies, since with trick you attack from your allies to
decidueye razor leaf worked so well with drain crown.
@@MyriaDonkey i won every game i played with it
I think that drain crown and rapid fire scarf were meant for mainly garchomp, decidueye and cinderace. There value has really gone up after the release of these items. I'm glad they finally buffed cinder.
imo cinder didnt need a buff. its damage and fire rate were grossly high as is
Cinder Main spotted 😭
as a decidueye main, rapid fire scarf makes razor leaf even better. so i appreciate it very much
@@helioizer3366 its not, just stay in lane
Drain crown sounded really good on paper especially if you combined it with rapid fire scarf but 10% just isn't enough. I'm kinda glad that it wasn't broken though, healing items can be really annoying when they're over tuned. Also kinda just randomly thought of this but the drain crown is kind of the opposite of leftovers.
I agree. I'd much more prefer the item be underpowered and they buff it later than being ridiculously op and them not nerf it for 3 months
Maybe if they buffed it by 5% or 10% it'd be viable enough without being too broken
@@captaincriticize8050 only time will tell but I do hope it gets buffed it has alot of potential
It is not for chomp is not worth it you can go scope muscle and rapid fire scarf and destroy crown sucks

I’ve loved using Drain Crown on Aegislash, the little bit of sustain in Sword Form helps the fights last longer when switching from Shield Form.
Hello sword mains club, does Drain crown stack on Shield form healing? Im curious
I love playing aqua tail azu with the drain crown the extra healing is just so useful
Is it though? Even if you deal 90k damage that only heals you 9k.
@@adamaragon1350 wtf? Your just so wrong aqua tail azu already heals
@@adamaragon1350 I see it like this : on scope lens the additional 12 % critical damage are so useful you really see a difference and for me it’s the same thing on azu even with the original healing with aqua tail
@@adamaragon1350 heals less than that because not all damage is from only basic attacks
Decid is too squishy :/
I’ve had better luck with a full atk build.
@@SenpaiTorpidDOW
It is, just not only drain crown since the effects stack on top of the damage boost from drain crown.
735 Healed w/ Weakness Policy(0 stacks)
740 Healed w/ Drain Crown
34 Healed per basic attack w/ Drain Crown
At first glance, you might think this makes Drain Crown look better as a survivability item, but it's not.
Maybe duraludon’s flash cannon since it’s usually far away from harm in a good team and has time to heal up
I think drain crown works well with snorlax.
I used it for a bit on my flaillax, I feel like aeos cookie, rapid scarf, muscle band is the best I have found.
Decidueye is him if you use the drain crown / razor leaf, but you must use the spawns to your advantage.
Zeraora could be a good candidate. He literally heals from basic attacks and from the crown
Ty
ive had a lot of fun with drain crown rapid outrage dragonite, its very fun and has kept me alive in situations i should not have
I would like to see a drain crown, shell bell, leftover build on eldegoss or blissey. The recovery is gonna be crazy
not gonna work good cause drain crown uses basic attacks not special attacks
@@blackhavoc0073 eldegoss's basic attack comes in physical catagory not special category, don't look at me it is what is is😶
Leftovers doesn’t help the healing because it scales off your special attack. Pollen puff is not passive healing it’s a special attack
Drain crown does work with Zeraora Spark which does help a little because it counts as a basic attack but drain crown just really mostly work on range attackers. Melee attackers are prone to CC which reduces the value. If you are not attacking, you are not healing.
I think Azumarill with aqua tail is great with drain crown purely because you're just adding to the lifesteal of the move, pretty unkillable against more than one target where Azumarill usually gets taken advantage of
Im use that build and in early im inmortal lol
Yeah it adds more healing but just go back to the math... you need to do 100k damage just to recover 10k. In my opinion investing a held item for very low recovery just isn't worth it
@@Michael-lu7xp yeah, the totally isnt good, but, What the item is useful for is that life that heals you within the combat period, it can make you survive
@@Mr.3nder yes your right there are scenarios where it's useful. I just mean there are probably items that you would get more value from

Definitely needs a buff. Hopefully it won't be ignored like rocky helmet
I used drain crown with greninja, i feel like although it helps greninja with sustain its not worth picking over something like attack weight or scope lens

Its useful for those that already have decent life steal to stack with, so basically just Decidueye.
I will say drain crown on Cinderace feels really good. He really needed a little more sustain.
And what about Dragonite with Outrage ? It seems pretty solid to me with Dragon Dance or even Extreme Speed to get the bulk ! With extra boosted auto attack and the stun, you heal a lot
I'm interested to know your opinion about it
(Is this comment works for Urshifu giveaway?)
My man gets it.
I think the crown works great with azumarrill and razor leaf decidueye

@@spragels Dang I thought I was gonna win for having the top comment... womp. Ggs.
Thinking that TTar ult changes its basic attacks to stomp, using it inside the enemy team could really help stay there, right? Haven't tested it yet
Been having success with outrage Dnite and Azumarill. Aqua Tail Pulse is insane with drain crown.
Lately I've been playing a lot of Duraludon with thia build.
can you make an emblem guide?
Absolutely 💯
I could see Drain Crown working on Tsareena where you run it on a Triple Axel build with Rapid Fire Scarf to throw as much damage as possible out thanks to basic attacks.
Drain crown is actually decent on aegislash bc of the %dmg attacks. Also snorlax at level 11 with Flail+ has more use now.
These are some of the pokemons I'm curious to try Draining Crown with: Dragonite, Aegislash and Buzzwolle
ive been using drain crown for my decidueye and it seems to help a little bit when paired with the scarf, i tend to last a bit longer in battles. i agree that it's very hyper-specific for garchomp but i think it's possible the item can get indirectly buffed through the release of more basic-attack focused pokemon in the future
Personally like it on Outrage Dragonite. Gives it just that little extra sustain it might need. But it's probably not the best you could choose
In a way, it heals you as much as shell bell does but for physical attacks rather than special attacks. No one ever equips shell bell for the healing, maybe for the cool-down reduction and special attack stat.
I think drain crown fits to Dragonite with an Outrage move. Dragonite can last longer in a brawl fight with drain crown.
The Pokémon that people aren't taking about that much with the ‘Drain Crown’ is Zoroark with the ‘Night Slash’ build. (I think so)
Your friendly Neiborhood Buzzwole main here awkwardly chiming in-
SO, from using only a level 20 drain crown on him I certainly notice a difference in the amount of healing he dose.
I think any damage-healing type item should be carefully implemented, since the only real healing reduction in game at the moment is delphox unite and kinda rocky helmet (since it reflect some damage receive to the attacker)
Unless there was a conceivable way to stop healing, any mechanism that adds vampirism to attacks have the potential to break the game by making some mons simply immortal
i've played aegislash for a long time and it really needed a third actually good item along with focus band and weakness policy, and so far it works well with those to keep yourself alive
Drain crown on outrage dragonite
Combined with multiscale, blue boosted healing, and some lifesteal it can make use of it similar to garchomp with the damage from his boosted autos
If using dragon dance % attack increase, especially with scope lens crits and razor boosted autos on top of one of the higher attacks in the game all boosting your auto damage, I've found drain crown to make a consistent noticeable difference in fights.
It's insane how much heal Decidueye gets from it. I'm surprised Deci isn't mentioned in the comments more often, I think he uses it really really well

I think the drain crown is okay on outrage Dragonite with the rapid scarf it's pretty silly to just run around slapping things!
