When you see so many people, may of them medium to poor skier ( including an irresponsible adult with a learning child) it CANNOT be a black run where there is very few people. A DIFFICULT BLACK slope is a slope where if you fall you go down all the way to the bottom (if groomed and / or icy).
If you gonna say something like this about that it’s not a big deal. Then Please take the right point to enter the ‘wall’ ;) you did enter on the most left side of te wall. And that is the chicken line ;) the next time enter on the far right, and not just after it’s ben prepared. If it’s then just easy. Then i will hear it
Obertauern is a great resort, suits beginner to intermediate, there isn't much in the way of really scary black stuff there, but I enjoyed i think three trips there about fifteen or so years ago. It's a high resort and is open and skiable for at least four or five months of the year if not longer if the season starts early. I have been here in the first and second weeks of April and the snow conditions were still spectacular. The Après Ski is also on point here, great party town if you want that, the Austrians are about the closest in Europe to us Brits with their binge drinking habits, lol. My friends even got married here and we tied it all up in a skiing holiday, that was an epic week.
Saudan Couloir (Couloir Extreme), Blackcomb Mountain, BC These can be accessed from the top of the 7th heaven chair just past the Horstman's hut. The average slope angle is 42° from top to bottom but if you opt to enter from the roped entrance at the top your first turns will be on 49°.J
This track was filmed in good conditions. I was today there when it looked like it wasn't groomed at all for season. It looked way more terrorizing then any other black track i ever was on
Not trolling or anything but is it just me or are you among those people lacking the skills to actually be descending slopes like this? Your shadow tells a story you know. No offense
Obviously it's only going to be so hard with such nice conditions (relative to something like moguls and storm), but people here saying "easy" as though an action camera parallel to the gradient doesn't make literally any run look trivially easy. It's a 100% gradient, a very steep official run by nearly all standards, even if the title might be hyperbole, which I'm in no position to really say as I've not done the run personally
Nice video, well shot, but.... WHY must you overlay that insipid and maddeningly repetitious "music"? It adds nothing, and makes it harder to hear the natural sounds of skis on snow. Sure, I can turn off the sound, but then I lose your narrative. PLEASE consider not using such noise when you make such interesting videos.
that's the chicken way to ride there, real deal is the moguls to the left of the bottom part. never found it terrorizing though, great slope in fresh snow when it is not groomed.
Dude it is infamous from back in the 80s and 90s when they couldn‘t get the snow groomers up there because of the steep parts and you literally fell out of the lift and into hip-high completely icy bumps! They changed the piste a lot because of people constantly overestimating their skills and getting hurt, there wasn‘t any way around the steep parts back then.
It's a nice cruising run, with absolutely gorgeous views. Never got the chance to ski in Europe, dang it. Most of the black runs in the States and Canada are more heavily moguled.
How to trust such a video? It's long time, but I remember running that slope some years ago and the full track was similar to the one in Switzerland shown here, with big moguls and really steep close to the chair. I can remember it was easier to go off tracks on the left of the chair than on the track. This here was just a joke. Good prepared track and when the small part with moguls arrived, he took the deviation to avoid them. I'm not a fan of comparing different tracks, because it depends of the conditions, but for sure this is one of the most challenging tracks I have ever riden.
thx. the reputation usually comes from bad snow x high moguls… but it‘s just a black piste. The more experienced skiers go off piste skiers left from the chair, directing to the village. (mind avalanche danger and cliffs!)

yeah its not if you just sliding down all the way to the path and then down the very right side of the slope. Just go straigt down on the left side and you are way more in trouble my friend. but yeah, if seen steeper slopes
That`s it???? :-DDDDDD There is one and it`s the only one piste in Europe that is orange. Orange is harder than black. It´s called the "Schweizer Wand" in les Portes du Soleil. That`s hard!!!!
Boring, nothing impressive, there are many long and steeper runs in the Alps. Try Tignes/ Val d'Isère, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Chamonix in Savoie have runs over 2000 meters drop for instance; and this is only on the vertical drop criteria
I'd love to ride that with a minimum amount of 18 inches of powder, top to bottom,no facets,no surface hoar,no wind blown,no nothing but still wearing my avalanche transceiver and BCA FLOAT 32 BACKPACK at 15°f.
@@Lord1814 well you were lucky with good snow. On my last trip I had the G2 either icy but groomed or with lots of powder snow and all moguls. Also as another person stated you did not take the diretissima through the lower wall which is the steepest part. They icy conditions were kinda scary and the deep snow moguls were really hard on the quads. Still found the Streif to be harder to ride. But G2 is not easy.

I stay on my end there. Where is the black run that terrifies all skiers? Did we seen it?
The most terrifyin in this video is the musik))))
@@Miroslav189 No its the beginning of the video XD

Heh,what a black slope?ordinary current line...

so what about skiing on the hard LEFT side ? over the bumps?

Brilliant having lift towers in the middle of a steep slope, so that when skiers fall they slide into them.
Me as an Austrian have to say that there are much harder ones out there in Austria than that one :D
kitzbühel hust

Groomed….kinda boring
A little harder “blue” slope.
Not even remotely terrorizing lol
depepnds on your level of skiing but remember slopes dont look nearly as steep on video as in real life
Try LE TUNNEL in alpe d huez......
Try the Mur de Chavanette ... Avoriaz to Switzerland.
Try the Bear Tooth Headwall outside Red Lodge Montana if you want steep!
I was there in fres snow, skiing under the lift. It was amazing.
It is not terrifying ever, it is mostly good to go
grazie mille. Vi faro' vedere tante altre piste e comprensori !
thx. the reputation usually comes from bad snow x high moguls… but it‘s just a black piste. The more experienced skiers go off piste skiers left from the chair, directing to the village. (mind avalanche danger and cliffs!)
Oh it's looking good! I want to ski Gamsleiten 2!
When you get a chance go to Jackson Hole,WY

Bellissimo video 👍👏🙋♂️🌈💚
Nothing is better than DEEP AND STEEP !!!
The Streif is the most hardest in the World!
Gäbs Zakkas no
it depends on how you know how to ski and how fast you go down
No, only for race.
Thank you. Enjoyed the run.
Why are you wearing a tracksuit from 1981? lol
You should try the mur suisse in champéry or the tunnel at the alpe d'huez. After doing either of them, this will be simple to you
The Flypaper at Glencoe, Scotland, is short and a fair bit steeper than this, and definitely scary!
yeah its not if you just sliding down all the way to the path and then down the very right side of the slope. Just go straigt down on the left side and you are way more in trouble my friend. but yeah, if seen steeper slopes
Boy, is that what you call hard? Zzzz

NOT !
Nice green run.
Try out Chocken in Idrefjäll. Steepest black slope in Europe.
This doesn’t look hard... looks really fun.
not
try Les Tunnel in Huez just like others suggested :D
At Squaw Valley this would be a blue run.
GoPro hero 5
Hi, nice video. What brand is your helmet? I'd like to buy one
Salomon
Avoriaz Swiss Wall is mote frightening with very steep 1.5 meter moguls at the moment !! Try that if you dare !
Where he went down would be hard if it's icy,but if there is plenty of snow,no problem!
Looks beautiful and something I could possibly do with some more lessons and practice. Where in Austria would you recommend?
Looks like a normal intermediate run in the states
A little steep in places but not close to terrorizing. Easy for a strong intermediate.
Paul Cattaneo good for you....stay there then!!!
I thought the chamonix in france was the most gnarly of all?....
That was a steep groomer it looked fun and very easy.
Is this the wall?
No U Nope this is Austria
Do not Know this One but Face de Bellevarde in Val d’Isère, Grand Couloir in Courchevel or Cime Carron in Val Thorens are my top 3.
That is a burner run built to blaze at high speeds…..only problem is there are beginner skiers everywhere you have to dodge
No, the best and hardest "black slope" in Europe is CANALONE in Madesimo SO Italy. This is a large and smooth kindergarten... ;-)
??????
Terrorizing for a british, not for a french skier.
Try ”Väggen” (the Wall) in Sälen, Sweden.
That is a steep slope 👍🏻
the "the wall" in avoriaz is the hardest one i know. saw someone fall there for ~30 meter
I really don't know what people have with this slope.
#KirkwoodCA #TheWall is an actual wall.
Come to Scotland then I show you few black runs 😂
Scottland has ski slopes?

Wow I am scared of some red slopes
Song?
Nothing special.Chill slope!
I propose you HARAKIRI in Austria - Zillertal - 78% slope
From my experience it is not that Hard, but he bypassed the interesting part 🤣🤣
The S in Val d Isere
Hahaha…try grand couloir in courcheval on a icy day ….
standard nice downhill. CHeck the beginnign of Le Tunnel in Alpe d'Huez
Looks like a green run lol
Terrifying. This is ski extreme.

Ok. Meglio sciare a Febbio quindi...
I could ski that with one leg behind my back
Easy, its 45 degrees max. Thats half horizontal or half vertical. ;-)
I'd love to ride that with a minimum amount of 18 inches of powder, top to bottom,no facets,no surface hoar,no wind blown,no nothing but still wearing my avalanche transceiver and BCA FLOAT 32 BACKPACK at 15°f.
Grande Lord!!!!
Bullshit do you know the tunnel alpe d'huez
yes. Never been there, but i will try it soon
So you'll love skiing underwear preasure the best way to do it is to be in the 100 first riders after snowfall
Mah......
The Wall..😂 quello dei Pink Floyd.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Try the Pas de Chavanette in Avoriaz (F).... Way more hard than this one.
it's flat as a pancake with no moguls to speak of so what's the big deal? who cares if it's steep that's not a problem.
that's exactly what i wanted to display with this video
got it
