- This is a quick side by side comparison of Essilor Transitions Signature Gen 8 and Essilor Transitions Xtractive New Generation.
My Signature Gen 8 has Essilor Crizal Drive lens which is great for night driving and also people with severe astigmatism. While the Xtractive New Generation is great for sunny days and for people with eyes sensitive to light and sunlight.

darkness on sig gen gen 8 and xtractive is almost the same , plus i like the sig gen 8 more as it is more clear indoors , di sya halatang photochromic which is what i like , xtractive variant has dis yellowish tint even indoors na ayaw ko , well its a matter of personal preference

Just bought the gen8 today for £80 and £240 for Oakley glasses. The xtractive would cost £40 more than the gen8. I went with the gen8 because i work at night and sleep all day in the morning. Plus the additonal £40 is already out of my budget.

Just minimal light scratches from daily use. It is scratch resistant because I don’t use microfiber cloth to clean them, just my shirt 😅

Sir sa ideal vision din ako. Gen 8 din yung sa akin pero crizal drive. Bat gnon super mahal inabot ng crizal drive with gen 8.

How can I tell the difference between a Gen 8 lens and an XTRActive lens? I bought some new designer frames and XTRActive progressive lenses. The total was appprox. $1,500.00 Outrageous! The invoice doesn't indicate which Transitions lenses were used. All it says is "Trans".
I just have this feeling that they used Gen 8 instead of XTRActive but I can't prove it. I was also supposed to be given a "Certificate of Authenticity" which comes with each Transitions lens. I have sent the optical shop at least 3 emails and they are ignoring me. I can't walk in the store and accuse them of something unless I can prove it.
Any ideas?
Hi, the Xtractive lens have a noticeable yellowish tint, which the gen8 doesn’t have.

hello sir. I just bought my tramsition lens gen 8 airwear grey, nasa 475 grade ko and astigmatism 1.0, napansin ko lang sobrang kapal ng lens ko and di nila ako binigyan ng authenticity card like you said na merong binigay sayo. Thanks sir sana mag reply ka po.
Hi sorry late reply. Makapal po talaga yung standard lens. Meron sila manipis mas mahal nga lang. Pwede nyo i demand yung authenticity card. Dapat meron kayo nun.

What do you mean by mirror/flash po? In-house lens lang same day. Essilor brand about a week or so

Yes pinaka mura actually sa ideal. I tried several local eye clinics mas mahal. Mas direct yata si Ideal sa Essilor. No problem 🙏🏻
Sir, if i may ask, ano kulay ng light reflection sa xtractive lenses? I am also currently using gen8 with crizal drive and napansin ko medyo may pagka violet pink yung light reflection parehas sayo. Also, kamusta yung hint of tint when indoors? Informative video btw. Thanks!
Yung Xtractive sir parang wala ako napapansin unlike sa Crizal drive na minsan parang sagabal ung pink reflection. Pag nakasanayan mo ung Xtractive sir parang ayaw mo na syang tanggalin. Ung tint nya indoors mas sensitive talaga kaysa sa gen8. Parang sumusunod din kasi sya sa temperature. Pero di sya nag dadark sa loob ng sasakyan ko, maybe because 99% uv resistant ung tint ko

It does and doesn’t. Depends on the quality and strength of the film or tint of your car.

Yes mismong Ideal Vision ako nag pagawa and may authenticity cards ako verified ng mismong Essilor Transitions. Pag regular client ka bibigyan ka nila ng good deal. Mahal talaga sa iba sir

Depends on the temperature and amount of sunlight that enters inside
Yes, I live in a warmer area and there is a tint even when indoors.

It only works if you don’t have a decent tint. I have a ceramic tint installed on my windows and they don’t activate inside.
