Anyone who stirs his coffee with a wrench is ok by me.
That one got me too! Ha
Picked up off and returned to the gravel yard no less. Classic…..
Indeed. Says all we need to know about Mark. 🎉🎉
Stirs his coffee with a wrench laying on the ground and stirs his paint with chop stix. What a mess!
Guy is a superhero
Just wonderful. Let me tell you something folks...you are not an engineer, until you have stired your freshly poured coffee with a spanner from the floor. This is the official initiation.
Engineers that I know aren't ones who get dirty and they overcomplicate everything
And you're REALLY an engineer when you stir with a slightly rusted spanner off the ground.
Take offense to this as I dont drink coffe.
I thought you made a huge mistake when you bought that boat. Very happy to be wrong. Good job. Can't wait to see it sailing.
same here. but he put work into it.
@@ysesq Only time will tell, if that holds up
Same here…
And recruited a huge amount of help?
@@Forakus do you follow The Sailing Brothers? I don’t disagree with your point. This is not a sailing channel. Equally, two great sailors, who had never left the UK and did deliveries for Asda… to fund buying a cheap boat… now sailing their (cheap) cool old boat half way round the world… that is also amazing to watch and seriously inspiring.
I watched Mark do his first boat and his wife leave him. Been a channel of some drama.
Mahi is looking so, so good. What a transformation. Look forwards to every episode. Brilliant series.
Good to see you relaxed a little now that the splash goal was met. You must feel like you’ve just been let out of jail, lol. So happy for you and we’re all very proud of the way you have responded to a major challenge so far. Wishing you continued success on the mast and rigging goals.
Were you able to paint the area where the boat was resting? There's those spots where the boat is resting on something else but that doesn't show being treated.
they give you time to paint those bits when they lift. You can see the other wharram owner painting his when he was lifted first.
Bye the way, the colours are amazing. Loving it 👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪
The colors and paint job came out looking great!
You’re evolving into a REAL salty dog my guy! Proud of you! The boat is a beaut! You sail on sailor!
PS: thanks for the tunes… again! You keep it real w/tunage
You needed another month on the hard to get those beams done and a few other little jobs. At least you can stay there. Hopefully the yard will help with a few bits to keep you going.
Very nice to see the boat going into the water again! You're making great progress, very impressive =D
you made so much progress!!! I'm really impressed, I was one of the ones saying don't get the boat, well you did an amazing job young fella
WARNING, please don't put any drinkable stuffs near the chemical liquids to avoid wrong drinking and or get contamination. 6:25
Nice progress anyway :)) Keep up the good work.
Finish uncompleted jobs before going on to the next project. Mahi hulls looks beautiful with her paint scheme.
My Gosh you did a great job! The boat is really looking beautiful!
Well done, Mark, you can visually see the love your giving her. I'm sure your Wharram will be stunning when you set sail.
I wonder if that spider was comparing the tape stickiness to his own; or just getting high off the glue.
I remember when I first watched you and your old friend "fixing up" the old boat. I said to myself, "No way this channel will go anywhere. Here you are with 100,000 subs and working hard. Good on you. Keep working hard, we will keep watching.
🤗
I hope you are conscious that there are more than 100,00 of us excited to get this back in the water. This is awesome!,,
🤗🤗🤗
Mark ..... I gotta say
I'M DAMN IMPRESSED with how far you've come and how much you've learned this summer.
Keep it up brother , I am DAMN PROUD of you young man.

Always get chopsticks with your Chinese dinners - I've fixed dozens of things with those beauties!
Keep going Mark
Your doing an amazing job 👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪
How exciting..!! Back in the water and on to the next phase. You are a machine, Mark..!! Well done.
Cheers

The first UA-cam splash I’ve seen where the captain doesn’t run around manically checking through hulls and bilges! I like your choices, MAHI is going to be an adventure to dreams. Well done mark.
How long to you reckon it took you to antifoul your monohull? I know that it had bilge keels to do as well, but it gives an idea of the relative displacements and sizes of the boats.
Nice progress as usual. You've still got good weather which is an added bonus.
It felt like longer 😂
Mark she is butiful painting and looks nice in the water
Make you olso a cabin on the beams ?
And we have SPLASH DOWN 👏👏👏👏
Great update 2x👍
The reason Boats are white mostly is because they are in the sun most of the time, dark colors like solar panels absorb heat and probably will cause unnecessary repair later from the heat they absorb..
Also (as I’m sure you know) white also stays better looking longer. Is easy to touch up without looking patchy. And is easier to see than a darker colour on a dark sea. White maybe a bit unimaginative but I stick with white now… it’s a practical choice not a creative one.
I had one red boat… was a total pain to keep looking good.
mark now shes on the water , haul that beam back out and finish it off . never leave a job as important as that half done . finish one job completely before moving to the next one , and please please leave behind that saying it will do for now , you want it to do forever .
You needed to spill a third of your can of primer, in order to prove not to spread paint over a dirty surface?
Mark, the boat looks beautiful. Congrats on getting so much done.....focus on all the successful steps completed. The other things you hoped to complete before putting her in the water (finishing up the beam, etc...) can wait until the next time you take her out. Take a break or do the engine work...whatever suits your fancy. But spend a little time celebrating how far you have come (in all ways) over the past year. Well done Mate!!
🤗
The most satisfying job on a boat..........demasking after antifouling OOOOOHHHHH yeah.
Nice waterline believe me those odd waves and high points disappear as soon as she splashes. motors and mast is great but also get that accommodation winterized too for comfort.
Thanks for the videos very enjoyable I look forward to meeting you when you get to New Zealand.
I look forward to seeing your sailing adventures in this new vessel and I hope that that lady joins you on at least one voyage 👍
congratulations for all your courage and work . since you will soon decide on your platform design ,I share following thoughts : as offshore toilet alternative, especially for women , an asian style hole ,in the deck platform ,with lid and appropriate safety measures . 2 dark ,watertight containers ,fixed to the deck ,maybe with view protection and safety for asian toilet in mind . watertight containers strong enough to stamp with your feet in it . the rocking motions of not fully filled containers ,plus feet power will turn these watertight containers into a wash machine . a water collection surface leading into the containers during rainfall plus a water hose near toilet hole and containers will further facilitate washing of bum ( clean style for millions in Asia ,saving trees ,paper litter and storage volumes ,including use of bio soap) .
As just one of millions who got skin cancer ,I highly recommend a roof design ,done with sturdy solar panels . wishing you the very best .
Thanks!
Well done Mark👏💪👍😅👊..great to see all this hard work end now with 'isn't she lovely' back in the water. Enjoy the next weeks with some sailing around too..the weather is great now..(maybe using dingy for the motoring).
We can call you Mister Beam now. 😅 Nice job done Marc. 👍
I like that
That is great the more you know your boat the better and who better to teach you. That is the designer looking good
You! Can do this young man, press on with pride!
Awesome channel your catamaran looks fantastic love the choice of music and editing you and sailing parlay revival are my favourites
Amazing what a fresh coat of paint does to make a good lookin boat.
Whew... scary being rushed into the water without really being able to sort out the things on the ground... but hey - the paint job for one looks impeccable 🤩 excellent job there.
Agree, sexy AF watching that crisp line reveal . And really good looking colour pairing .
The paint job is fantastic.😊
Congratulations! Nice to see her in the water again... great job banging it out this summer.
Well done you made it in the water on time .
Mark, We really like the colours you have used, 55 years ago my Dad painted his Folkboat the same, you have brought back fond memories, Thanks…. John Ross, Ontario, Canada
I really like the second Mahi where the a is small. That looks more like you I think. The other one is to straight, to streamlined. The second is more playful and laid back !! Great work !
I agree!!
Very controversial 😂
@@WildlingSailing 🤣🤣🤣
Looking good mark.
She's looking great man. Dude that thing's going to be so fast compared to minky. It's going to rip your face off.
you can clean the build up off the sandpaper by running your sander and brushing the paper with a wire brush
Another brilliant week of hard work, it's clearly paying off Mark, keep going at the pace you're happy with. Congratulations on making it to splash day. 👌👌👌
Hey boy great job.
Mahi looks absolutely amazing💚
Hey, Mahi is looking very smart with this paintjob and the crisp waterlines, glad to see you back afloat!
Looking Good
Splashed in , keep going until the weather puts you off. Git er done!
I think that you should just leave those stickers on and name the boat Mahi Mahi!
so chuffed at what you've achieved ........great stuff mark
Best 2k you could ever spend,
Yeah! Wet keels! That's a lot of progress in a short time. Rigging, take what you can get as cheap as or for free, you can always rehash it later. You will need some extra motivation over the coming winter months, being able to make her sailable in the short term would be a good target to achieve. I'm sure there will be some that are getting rerigged over the winter at that yard and would donate their old rigging that will be good for a season or so.
They say replace the rigging every 10 years. An insurance company might say 7 years, especially for the main supportive rigging. Say you are going to take 10 years to go round the World it would be best to start from new. Most that comes off is because it old and past it's use by date. Might be OK for light summer coastal cruising but still risky. Best to get good stuff and don't under spec. Maybe select some good used items for emergencies. Quality shackles and blocks always worth picking up. This goes for anchor chain too. Not cheap so always a difficult decision.
@@delukxy Wharram boats are (of course) a bit different.
Just use high-quality very-low-stretch Dyneema for the standing rigging.. (That type of Dyneema is *very* expensive, but it's also very good).
Gostei da trilha sonora. Um samba bem brasileiro. Sou brasileiro e também apaixonado por vela e construção naval. Te acompanho desde o primeiro vídeo. Vc é um garoto muito esforçado. Parabéns.
Great music!
Google trans: "I liked the soundtrack. A very Brazilian samba. I am Brazilian and also passionate about sailing and shipbuilding. I've been following you since the first video. You're a very hard-working kid. Congratulations."
Cheers mate, It’s Bossa Nova!! Very niiiice

Soppy, I know,,,But I'm your Mum,,,I'm allowed to do soppy! Soo looking forward to seeing you soon ish with the boxes,,🤞🌈🌻Mum🌻🌈🤞
One step at a time. Making progress, that's what counts.
Well done mate you've hard and yes I don't blame you, give yer self a treet. And get some bloody sleep you look nackerd.
Outstanding! Looks like a completely different boat. I was skeptical when you bought her, but your commitment and passion certainly proved my doubts wrong. Hope to see you out on the high seas!
Those hulls look super, Mark. Great work, and Congratulations on the launch !
Well done Mark. Good job👍👍
Boat videos are tha best
Good work! Great milestone. You have been working hard.
What a Week, I think maybe you could have put a short video up explaining so you had the editing time to work and we would have all understood. BUT, big step, back in the water well done.
I didnt notice, did you fill in the Dagger board holes ?
Yet another big WELL DONE
Great share, really com8ng along. Thanks for documenting the journey that's a huge commitment and investment.
Great Job. Sleeping on a sailboat in the yard sucks, in the water amazing!
congrats on getting back on the water!
Isn't she lovely!
Killin it man, from Chorley
Mark you made your boat look brand new on the outside it's looking nice. You put a lot of work into that boat and it's starting to pay off congratulations on a job well done. I know you still have more to go but at least it's floating. Can't wait to see your next video what you do next.
I’m looking forward to watching your journey xx
I see you crossed 100K - nice work! G'ver!
Mark.... get that beam finished. It is so close! Check that off your list! The boat is looking so pretty!
Congratulations on splashing your new masterpiece, achieved with pure hard work, determination and ingenuity. My favourite viewing every Saturday morning. Thought you were foolish buying that hulk, proved me, and many others wrong. Mani is now beautiful, stunning. I brought two big boats back, you are an inspiration to many now. And thanks for bringing it all to us.
Well done Mark ...another big step forward !!! 🐙🐋🐟
She's cleaning up nicely. Spot-on hull color.
What is the paint code for that teal colour I want it for orca please
It’s RAL 5021
Hi Mark. Jesus it must be great too be back in the Water. Your flying through the work. Nice job on the Anti Fouling. Keep it up bro. 😅 🇨🇮🇨🇮
Any launch you can walk away from is a good launch.
At last someone who knows boats are launched and not "splashed" !!!
I was wondering, how many layers of paint did you ad on the repaired polyester spots on the hull after using the primer and before applying antifouling? Because antifouling doesn't protect the polyester at all, it's only against barnacles. Normally your put 5 layers of paint on the blanc surface before applying antifouling.
You should not underestimate what you're achieving right now - not only are you providing entertainment for a lot of sad f*ckers like myself that are living vicariously through you, but you are also learning life skills that will set you in good stead for ever!!
Blue beard looks great too
Great work...! just keep going anything is possible keep focus.
Looks great Mark! You're about halfway done now. Keep working hard 💪
Woweeh, floating after those jobs done suits her well! Congratulations 👏
I worked in a boatyard for a while in the 90s. When we came to do the waterline on a boat, the boss would get out an old surveyor's theodolite and set up 30 metres or so away amidships and direct us as we applied the tape. Perfect job every time!
Today you would use a Lazer pointer or level and you could do it single handed... transfering to the hull inners by using a length of clear plastic pipe with water in.. matches the inner level to the sight line.. even across along stretch between hulls .
TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO IT RIGHT BEFORE YOU SAIL.
Awesome Mate good job cheers
Congratulations, she’s looking great.
Nice dog
she's looking good Mark 👍
Mark, your music and editing are first rate 🎉.
Congratulations !.....nice job so far. Nice job with the videos, I've enjoyed your well done series. You've been surrounded by good folks too.
A big step forewards, congratulations 👍👍
Eggcellent job! She looks great.
A good thing with this channel is that it verifies that even a 100% amateur with no experience with tools, materials and techniques also can get some results ... and it floats.
If you pull your tape OFF back against itself (and not 90 degrees from the surface), you'll end up with much cleaner edges. :)
