As someone who wears the same one and done shades as everyday looks all the time, the price makes sense to me. A $34 shadow that is amazing quality that I will wear each and every day would be a great thing for me to add to my collection. I’m not a palette person - I want my eye looks to have an impact but be simple at the same time, so I am definitely going to be swatching Rose Gold. The only thing that is holding me back is worry that it will have a ton of fallout.

These will be my first venture into their eyeshadow, mainly because I have been looking for that shade of taupy green forever. I also picked up the smokey quartz, as it seems super unique. Love the CT quads. Her eyeshadows give me such glamourous eyelooks without even trying. But $34 for a single shadow is a little tone deaf in the times we are living in with the inflation and everything I have to say.

These remind me of some of the Chantecaille shades, I need to try mine on again since it has been a while to see how they compare to these. I like the CT Rose Gold since it is less pink and looks beautiful. The Emerald Eyes shade by CT has a different look than the Chantecaille shade, which has a black tone .
These remind me so much of Glam Shop eyeshadows. Would love to see you try some of their taupe-y smokey shimmery eyeshadows. The only thing is paying for the shipping. But it is so worth it - especially when they have gorgeous shadows for only like $2-6/each. And the results are STUNNING. These CT are pretty but I feel Indie has been doing this already and in many more shades. And some even more shimmery and shiny.
Please, please, please try to dupe these! I will definitely pick up at least one for the packaging but I can't justify buying all three neutrals. Maybe super far off with this but I would also be specifically curious to see how smokey quartz compares to nutty from wet n' wild...

To me it looks like that Smokey quartz one you liked most appeared chunky and did not blend well… but the other ones are beautiful! There are brands that do the same thing for cheaper tho 😊
I was looking at smokey quartz too but when you applied it something in my mind went "that looks like Natasha Denona's... Orion from the mini Star palette" I might try and find the CT in store and compare but they look quite similar swatched ❤️

Here's my struggle: See how the taupe blends out into a warm tone at the edges? On me, that "warmth" reads orange. It happens with my Oyster Pearl as well. Is there a shadow that is that same taupe colour but doesn't blend out with warmth?
this is my constant struggle as well. the only shadow i ever had that was a nice, cool but still interesting taupe was discontinued (Cocoa by Origins). i've given up and just stick with more true greys, which are also nice.
Maybe try to conceal your eyes or use a pigmented eye primer? My eyes have a lot of orange to them naturally, it kinda looks like I'm wearing subtle orange eyeshadow when I'm without makeup haha. Using concealer or primer to cover pigmentation might help. Also try to stick to cool toned eyeshadows, preferably with some grey undertone.

I have a gorgeous green single eye shadow from Kiko that is spectacular, even more than this one from CT certainly and that comes in a beautiful packaging and does not cost a whole week´s grocery. Sorry but somethings from some brands are totally getting out of control, period.

Bobbi Brown charges $40 for her luxe single shadows. They came out about 8 years ago.
