Vehicle Quality has entered a death spiral, we had a Ford Maverick in our shop w/ < 2000mi on it w/ a rear wheel bearing issue - customer heard grinding / clicking noise. Bearing practically fell apart while we were working on it.
Something seems odd about this. The car would have to be driven off the transporter upon arrival to the dealership. A problem would have been immediately known. Was someone having fun and games with the car? Salesmen and lot boys are nothing but overgrown children at times.
Will never buy another Volkswagen Touareg. I purchased a used one for $3,800, everything worked as it should at the time. The transmission at 155k failed so I went to Aamco Transmissions, said they can replace it with a used transmission for $6,300 😮, mostly labor fees. I'm not getting caught up in that circle
Your first problem was going to AAmco for a transmission. I had some transmission lines replaced there and they failed twenty miles away. Wouldn’t warranty their work. Winchester Virginia. Should have took them to small claims court.
If nobody will touch it you need to get outside of where you are at because AAmco is a corporate scam. Maybe you lucked out and did the best you can but I have had dealings with them at multiple locations for thirty years and it was never a positive outcome. Find a mechanic that a reputable source recommended.
@dentalnovember that is the average price for the swap on my ride but I'm not paying it no matter how well the job is done, not worth it considering the going value of the ride itself. It's a 2006 Touareg V8
At 20 miles it may have been built and never filled with oil!! Internally probably destroyed!! VW may look back to Prep sheets to see if final drive oils are or are not checked...... .may be adding cautions to new car prep work!!
I jest had a 2017 Fusion 2.0 long block replaced. I asked about the break in period for the engine and was told there was no break in. Is that true? Thank you for what you do!
European cars are wonderful, but over the last several years, they've become very expensive and price on their parts is far more than their Japanese competitors. I see this on a weekly basis in our shop. VW is loosing its market share on cars to Japanese and Chinese vehicles. Too many customer being priced out of the market.
This is the reason why I still drive my 2005 acura tl with 226k miles on it. New cars are garbage.
Same with my 2012 TL shawd. Mine's at 190k miles
I have 2007 Civic Si with 293.7K. they don't make things like they used to...
Be sure to drain and fill your transmission fluid routinely.

I have a couple Atlas's in the repair lineup and they are making Christmas quite lucrative.
Bevel box=transfer case? Smart idea on VW part to replace everything and them to figure out the cause.
VW quality at its best
1400 for a CV axle?? Pricing….there’s the reason for the season.
25 miles?!?! Yikes lol
And they’ll probably sell that car at full price like nothing ever happened to it.

Not that we know of, our lot guys are all older and they don't do that stuff
I'm gonna run right out and buy one of those.
Nooooo.. I won't. Ever! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Good for another 20 miles ?
Amazing what they're trying to sell new. Have a better day.
Today's quality is not what it used to be
20 miles & with all those issues? QC needs to improve. At least its under warranty

@dentalnovember who do you suggest I take it to? Nobody else around here will touch it. I'm in middle Georgia
