Sales for Alka-seltzer have sky rocketed for every Disney Star Wars.
I came across an article revealing that for all its talk about equality and all that, The Acolyte is paying women involved in the show less money than the men. 💸
It's a disingenuous report though, those doing the same work are paid the same wage - it's the law in the UK and they can't get away with it. This is about women doing different work and getting a different hourly wage, low skilled jobs pay less than highly skilled ones.
Just 30% of the 695 employees were female across the entire workforce, although men outnumber women in the bottom and two middle hourly pay bands.
@@makcity7850 If that’s true then it’s another example of someone being misleading. I’ve heard before about people distorting statistics to give a distorted view of the issue (such as saying women doctors get paid less than men without mentioning that a lot of women are in fields that pay less period and a lot of men are in fields that pay more period), and it’s a shame because issues like this need to be presented without distortion so people can form fair opinions. I just thought it was funny that they tried so hard to appeal to a certain audience only to be accused of discrimination.
@@makcity7850 ahhhhh i see thnx
Let’s be real… Harvey Weinstein’s former personal assistant is HARDLY a champion of women.
I knew this review would be at least 5000 times better than any actual Disney Star Wars show!
Thank you!
Is there anything sadder than Disney Star Wars? Only drowning puppies, and there would have to be a lot of them.
Aaron, his name is Darth Juggalo!!! 😂🤣😂
Bahahaha!
My daughters watch Frozen all the freaking time. They fight with each other all the time too but I think they only watch it for the songs
Surprised they haven't mentioned that X-23 actress is in this series.
We get to Dafne Keen eventually .
Actually Jeki is a hybrid of human and another alien species, I think Generation Tech mentions this in 1 of his videos of who Jeki is and what species she is, Apparently the alien species that Jeki is from is suffering the same fate as Ki-Audi Mundi's species, extinction due to a conception problem of conceiving children.
EXCELLENT WORK. WES AND AARON SPARROW,
Nah I liked that episode with all the clone war flashbacks in Ahsoka, they were kinda weird but I liked that one. Baylon and shin were good and they did Ezra alright but the rest was boring and pretty dumb but I prefer Ahsoka to what we got in Kenobi.
lol Aarons opening statement there got me
Star wars tv shows rankings
1) the mandarloian 2) andor 3) the acyotle 4) ahsoka 5) obi Kenobi 6) book of boba Fett
The sisters should be the heart and soul of the show. It's fine if we like one and are rooting for her and as a twist it turns out we picked the wrong one and change our opinion. But neither of them are developed to the point that the audience has a reason to like either. They just seem to ruin each scene and pull us away from things that could be more interesting. I dread any scene I see them in.
Osha was a Padawan but chose to leave the Jedi order. I am guessing she is an unremarkable force user with little potential or the Jedi would have been eager to get her back. She believes her sister tried to kill her and in doing so killed herself and the entire coven including her mothers. She is accused of murder of a Jedi Master and through a dream vision finds out her sister is alive and committed the murder. She goes to confront her sister but when she has the chance to stun her decides to miss letting her get away. She then decides her sister is not her problem and wants to go back to her life. But no, Sol tells her her sister can become good again even though they keep us in the dark to whether she ever was good. She tries to convince Yord to kill her sister if Sol can't do it. She then prevents Sol from killing the Sith so she can let some space bugs try to kill him instead. She finally has a chance to confront her sister and find out her version of past events but instead tries to arrest her and gets knocked out. She is left at the mercy of the Sith that see's her tattoo, realizes her identity and that she might make a better acolyte. This and her inappropriate sexual advances towards young naïve Padawan Jeki leave me wondering is this the sister I'm supposed to like and root for? Mai's character is even less developed and her motivations change on a whim. So out of the two main characters we are left with no one we care about. These are the two main characters. Is this a battle of which sister is less cringe? Wow.
So most of the complaints I have heard about the 'Thread' is that Headland and the writers have stated they would be redefining the Force wholesale. Basically giving the serious implication that the Witches have the 'correct' interpretation of the Force
Spoiler.... they LOVE it 😂
Why do people fail to admit that Star Wars hasn't been good - or even Star Wars - for over a decade? People are so hungry for decent SW that they are willing to accept any tripe that Disney is willing to shovel out. Time to move on, people.
AWESOME! WES
Why?...you could've just...NOT watched it...
A viewer literally bought them both Disney+ for the month specifically because he wanted them to watch and review it.
One of our patrons demanded it! We’re all about customer service! 😐
Yes the Prequels had bad acting and dialogue. Hell even A New Hope had some.
But The Acolyte is way worse than them. And yeah Ahsoka wasn’t great but it was better than The Acolyte.
The Jedi doing martial art and fight scenes were pretty cool.
Asian Ezra Miller’s character’s name means Moon whereas Sol means sun.
There is a connection there.
My biggest issues with this series is all the lore breaking and contradictory moments. I know things get retconned but some things just shouldn't be changed. The Force is not the Thread, the Sith should've remained unknown or hidden, and Ki Al Mundi was not alive 100 years earlier, and a Jedi master shouldn't lose to basically a padawan who's not using a lightsaber
Nobody sense the disturbance in the force of all the jedi death bodies in that planet😂😂. The more you apply logic or previous stablish lore to this show the more you say just fk it.... the jedi morals are weird AF... smilo Ren killed like 10 jedi including two padawans or jedi knights but master squidgame let him go because he was unarmed?????? Did he not see what happened to Yord's neck😂😂 or Jecki?? It happened in front of him, and the most fk up Part is that osha tells master sol to not kill smilo but immediately uses Pip to make the moths try to kill smilo😂😂WTF
Ugh...so the good guys did something bad that makes someone want to get revenge? How original. Yup its the morally grey area that looks to even the ground between those who are supposed to be good and those who are bad. Sounds like what I thought I might hear. Some nuggets of good mixed in with a bunch of bad elements character and story wise. My justification in liking Rogue One can still stand as the only thing done that holds to most of what Star Wars is supposed to be. WTF20.
Dude... better than Ahsoka?
Episode 5? ok.
It's definitely the worst Star Wars I've watched. Writing was done by a teenager full of angst. The cinematography looks like a good fan film, not a 180$ million Disney production. It just screams whataboutisms. It's just boring and bad TV. That's it. That's all.
Lol
I will disagree this is worst worst-written “Disney” series of all time. Some lightsaber battles in the dark don't make a difference.
The Acolyte looks more like a real Show than the childish crap like Boba Fett. However, even then, it is a bad Show, full of plotholes bad dialogs and a lot of spite against the concept of Light and Darkness. This is the difference between the stupidity of the childish crap and this amorality tale.
GREAT THINKING CRITICAL DISNEY'S RUINED STAR 🌟 WARS DISASTER.
Why do either of you have e Disney plus or watch woke trash time to move on boys and find something good to watch for your own sanity and let these franchises die
Poor Aaron... Wes, I'm so sorry that you and Aaron need a hug from my Lego clone troopers! This show makes She-Hulk like Breaking Bad! At least Bad Batch and Clone Wars kinda of tried. Just look at the Super Mario Bros. Movie from last year that movie looks leagues better than this show!! I've seen pre-school shows with better writers. 🫂
People need to stop hate watching this, we’re going to keep getting more of this if you guys don’t stop watching.
Absolutely this! A view is a view. They all count!
I was told that there was no such thing as hate watch. 🤷♀️
It’s not about viewership or money. It’s about power. It’s about the message.
We would have watched if one of our generous patrons hadn’t bought us off. Blame Lane Kramer! 😂
Acolyte definitely paying for Ashoka's sins .
"The power of one... the power of two... the power of maannnyyyy....." is worse than anything in Ahsoka, and probably the single worst scene in all of Disney Star Wars, except maybe that Kid Leia chase in Kenobi. Absolutely embarrassing.
Episode 5 is best episode of this series yes but everything else is so boring and not interesting in my opinion.
That's the problem with the Jedi that Lucas created in the first place, making them monks instead of a knightly Camelot order. Or maybe he could have taken a page or 2 out of Japanese samurai history. How many adventures do monks have?
@@inkermoy well if you don’t count balders gate 3 from that game or any other fantasy game in general or in reality I have no idea.
@@TevyaSmolka Long ago I read a Star Wars comic that featured a (pre-Prequel canon) younger Obi-Wan hopping on a space transport and getting into an adventure. He was dressed more like RotJ Luke than a monk. He was dashing and jovial, a character you'd expect to get into adventures. I actually don't remember the story itself, but the imagery of what the Jedi were before they were decimated stuck with me.
@@inkermoy ooh that sounds fun
You're right, it's not the worst, because it's not even Star Wars, even as Disney's redefined it. It hits like a Turkish knock off.
Hey now, I like Turkish Star Wars! And it’s entertaining! Not necessarily in the intentional way…
For the amount of money spent on this travesty, the shame is that the script-writing, the direction, the CG work, lighting, background music, blocking and lack of acting are all horrifically terrible. Rebel Moon levels of cringe with absolutely no soul to the show. Ed Wood and Traumaville movies had more creativity and soul than Disney LucasFilm has had. It’s a real shame that yet another IP is getting poisoned and obliterated.
You know they had a great time when the guy is drinking _in the thumbnail._
I drank through the watch, too.
I'm Sorry, Jecki, or whatever her name is, should not have beaten Mai. Mai Beat a Jedi Master in hand-to-hand combat but lost to a Padawan in hand-to-hand combat.
Also Smylo Ren who turned out to be Asian Ezra Miller was hanging from a tree, was able to cut himself down from the tree, change clothes because he had to get his helmet and cloak from his bag, run so fast that he beat Mai to the Jedi MAster Wookie's hut, Kille the JEDI MASTER WOOKIE before Mai Arrives, Leave before Mai arrives (Which he doesn't make any sense because he wanted to kill her).
After killing the JEDI MASTER WOOKIE, he has run all the way to where the Jedi are, Kill all of the Trained Jedi, Chase after OSHA, Fight JEDI MASTER SOL and he has to do all of this Before Mai finds the wookei and Fight and loses to the Padawan Jecki.
Now after he did all of this Crazy sht in seconds, he leaves JEDI MASTER SOL to fight a Teenage Padawan, and the Padawan puts up a Better fight than 5 or 6 Trained Jedi and a JEDI MASTER WOOKIE who he beat in Seconds. But he struggled with a TEENAGE PADAWAN. Now he struggled with a Padawan but Broke the neck of the Black Trained Jedi it took him seconds but he struggled with the TEENAGE PADAWAN! After finally Killing his strongest opponent the TEENAGE PADAWN, and after he snaps the neck of the Traind Jedi who couldn't sneak up on him and spit on him. OSHA an untrained Civilian who is no longer connected to the force is able to attach a light to the TRAINED SITH'S Back and duck his LIGHT SABER SLASH EASILY! But the trained Black Jedi couldn't even sneak up on him and pinch him he broke his neck in seconds but the Engineer attached a light and ducked his Light Saber Slash!
This show make so much sense that was the best episode ever! FCK THIS SHOW!
They saw, they watched, they lived...so that is something.
They killed jecki in tge 5th episode! I think sparrow might be right about tge expensive makeup
I feel like with the acolyte they should’ve made it more like breaking bad
I'm sorry
Palpie didn't create Anakin. Even the writer of the story, where this idea came from didn't intend to imply this.
The only thing cool about this show was the introduction of cortosis metal in the latest episode.
GREAT THINKING CRITICAL DISNEY'S STAR 🌟 WARS THE ACOLYTE EPISODE ONE & FIVE REVIEW BOTH WES AND AARON SPARROW EXCELLENT
Thanks Brandon!
So now I have to watch the fifth episode? Cripes!
I have to side with Wes about The Acolyte having worse acting and dialog (and direction) than any of the prequels. In fact those two little girls make Jake Lloyd look like DeNiro and they make Hayden Christiansen look like Olivier.
Oh well, here goes another hour of life I'll never get back...
Don’t do it! We did it so you don’t have to!
Episode 5 is perfectly fine.
Clownfish thought it was mid too. So a bad to mid show isn’t going to entice those of us who has checked out to come back.
Time to start drug testing your guests!
Maybe I’m just completely numb at this point.
I gave up after episode 3. Hopefully watching this review it may change my mind. 😂
Don’t blame US if you decide to go back!
@@SparrowAaron it was a great review and it didn't change my mind
Wes so do you intend to do a review of X-Men 97? Great. I hope that you enjoy the best Marvel animation ever.
Working through it now!
@@SparrowAaron Nice.
Awesome work guys
Thank you!
They should change the name to Star Wokes 😂
Star Wokes: The Lack of Whites
@@SparrowAaron lol
The two actresses playing the younger Osha and younger Mae look somewhat alike because they're actually sisters irl.
This was like watching that Simpsons episode where Lenny and Carl are swordfighting with glowing carbon rods and they're going back and forth "I say that Phantom Menace sucked more!" and "And I say that Attack of the Clones sucks more!"
HEY, Don't dis Filoni, he study under George Lucas incase you forgot, he knows what the fans want but it's Disney and Kennedy that have his hands tied even WITH his promotion, his hands are still tied and is doing everything can to TRY and fix it but still trying keep his job, for crying out loud he gave us Ahsoka when George Lucas was still in charge of LucasFilm and he adores Ahsoka, Answer this guys.
What would you do if had a choice? The choice between Keeping your Job and do whatever it takes to patch up what Kathleen Kennedy did to Star Wars or DO whatever the Hell you want and lose your job and lose ALL CHANCE to fix Star Wars?.
😂 Hearing “OSHA” really brought home for me that nobody in the writers’ room has ever worked a “real job.” It borders on satirical, so I half expected another character named “IRS.” The irony is that if they’d run the name selection through Microsoft’s AI Copilot (or maybe the pro version of ChatGPT, idk) it would’ve recommended against names like OSHA because of the connotation. So we have truly reached the point where, objectively, AI is capable of better writing than Disney.
Now, what I see of _The Acolyte_ are just the lowlights presented on videos-I quit watching Disney _Star Wars_ after _Last Jedi._
But the big thing that bugs me, is that the “Power of Many” cult feels so out of place-it feels like it belongs in an early to mid 70s Eurosleaze movie! Maybe they’ll shoehorn in _The Wicker Man,_ too!
The Star Wars New Republic omnibus volume 2 drops this week. The Thrawn trilogy and Dark Empire are included. Maybe Disney doesnt care, but if it sells out fast, maybe someone at disney woll be paying attention.
Honest review? Are you planning a dishonest review too.
HOT 🔥 GARBAGE THE ACOLYTE SERIES DISASTER
Damn I get not trusting Filoni at all now but Clone wars and rebels were great
SKIP KATHLEEN KENNEDY AND DAVE FILONI,
Rogue One only Disney stuff I liked. In the sense it was a war movie showing the history of things, but it wasn't strong on characters and the OP Vader scene made no sense. Or he was taking it easy playing with old Ben in that Death Star fight?
Not better than Rogue One no interest,
Everything after the OT made the force too powerful. It went from a spiritual, mind over matter kind of thing to a video game unlimited power-up. It got so ridiculous, even in the PT. Then they had to top in in every movie and tv show after. Remember, Yoda struggled lifting up that X-wing in Empire, and he was the most powerful Jedi. I actually thought that Rogue One scene showed a little restraint. Nowadays they would just have him force hold the Tantive IV or something.
@@kdkseven I have played Force Unleashed and the apprentice sith drags down a Star Destroyer in the most annoying mini game. Yup they made the force crazy OP.
@@PrivateCitizen84 That's _exactly_ what I was thinking of. Then they had Rey Palpatine do it. So ridiculous.
The mythologizing of George Lucas i do not get. Everything after the original trilogy is mid, at best, unwatchable at worst (which includes the prequel trilogy). And even there, Return of the Jedi is half cringe. George Lucas started losing his creative mojo sometime around 1980-81, after Raiders of the Lost Ark and Empire Strikes Back. I have zero interest in any Star Wars after the original trilogy, other than the video games, which are still pretty good.
Agreed, though I still love the hell out of ROTJ
At least George wanted to make Star Wars for the sake of Star Wars. Everything Disney has made has had an obvious agenda.
@@daishikaze3986 yeah I still love RotJ too. Those space battles still haven't been topped imo, and the speeder bikes... so cool. But the signs of what's to come are there.
@@Arassar yeah, George Lucas is a good person with good intentions- I like him- i just think he lost the plot and became more of a business person and less of an artist. The prequel trilogy could have been good if he had someone else write the script (based on his story of course) and direct the movies. As is, they're terrible.
Good to finally hear a balanced review. I'm tired of just shills and haters
We try to be fair
