I liked this very much. Such interesting examples of the worlds best shoe patina artists. It is very much an Art, and I see no one walking away anything other than one of the worlds best. Congratulations to the winner, I know a lot of thought and consideration went into choosing the top competitor. Bravo, and thanks to Bespoke for allowing us to be a part of the interviews, and privy to a bit of insight into the Craft. Thank you very much for such great content! ❤
Ah, what a transcendent experience it is to witness the divine spectacle of such magnum opus in the realm of shoe patina. The sheer elegance and finesse displayed here is nothing short of a masterclass in craftsmanship. It's as though each brushstroke whispers secrets of artistry long forgotten by mere mortals. Truly, this is not just a show-it is an epic saga of leather and polish that leaves one both dazzled and humbled. A standing ovation is in order for this magisterial display of sartorial brilliance. One can only dream of attaining such splendor in their own humble wardrobe.
No... but in future years, I want to try to coordinate a raffle where they are given away ahead of time! Each winner would be able to specify their shoe size prior ot the patina contest.
It was an utter delight, truly an exquisite pleasure, to partake in the viewing of Kirby Allison's latest opus, the 2024 World Championship in Shoe Patina. The sheer sophistication and meticulous attention to detail exhibited in this most elevated of pursuits was nothing short of awe-inspiring. One couldn't help but be thoroughly enchanted by the confluence of craftsmanship and artistry on display. A veritable feast for the eyes and, dare I say, a most edifying experience for those of us with a penchant for the finer things in life.
Get the patinas to the schools m8, it's not a school canteena anymore it's a school patina. Make your shie canvas your next meal and feed the kids leather
I think Albert and Morgane's were close, but I was more drawn to the blue shoe. Albert had a deeper, high gloss look while Morgane's was a bit less gloss and full of action/motion. One could imagine her shoe being worn and drawing ones eyes as a person wears it. Still really close to me.
Kirby at first I thought you were a bit of a nerd doing cos play but now I honestly think you're one of the most interesting people on UA-cam, giving airtime to all these wonderful niche artisans. I commissioned a bespoke suit and bought a few pairs of dress shoes because of you. Derek guy and Simon Crompton do a different style of content to you and have also been informative but your way of doing this has a level of humility to it that I think is unique. Good for you, big fan now.
I read somewhere, on a vendor's site, that you should NOT put Saphir Renovateur on a "museum brown" shoe because it will take the patina off. Can anyone confirm?
@@aaronjames3512 Just got an email from Toni Llobera at TLB Mallorca asking me to please not use Renovator on my new museum calf brown shoes. Only cream and wax he says.
Let's keep it classy, old chap! A bit more bedazzle in our appreciation for the fine craftsmanship at hand, don't you think? This sort of shade should neither be a tradition nor the act of a true gentleman, as the term rightly prescribes. Let's give credit where credit's due and honor the artisans’ work as it deserves.
I disagree, especially for the Scandinavian guy and the winner... The Asian French guy may have issues with the color pallette he chose but still had great technique and skill...

I disagree, I think the overall aesthetic and skill on the reddish brown and blue one was best...
How to make shoes look bad in under 30 minutes...
There's no need for such negativity. I would softly, but firmly ask you to refrain.
