Hey travellers! Thanks for stopping by. We only had a day to explore Bonaire, so let me know what I should add to my itinerary if I get back to Bonaire!
Rincon, Bonaire donkey sanctuary, natural bridge, native Indian cave markings, Goto meer ( lake full of flamingos) and great for a picnic
Bike rentals, the coast up to Karpata is breathtaking. Hiking Washington-Slagbaai
Lovely place, lovely people. They appreciate it when we visitors say "BONE-AIR" so as not to offend. Best vacation I ever had.
It's a beautiful place.
3:00 is actually Sorobon Beach, famous for learning how to windsurf
Enjoy your vacay and tamsak host👍
thanks!
Bonaire is on my list.I’ve heard it’s beautiful and less crowded than the neighboring islands. The windsurfers were cool! So many of them! I, like you, would fall over and over again! I can’t even paddle board. I love how colorful the buildings are!
Yes it was far less busy than Aruba and Curacao. It's a very colourful island too.
I agree. It is always important to learn the history of a place you are exploring. OMG I would love to be on the water right now! I love a nice quick tour when you are only somewhere for a short time period. That is great that there were plenty of tours lined up right outside of the cruise ship so you didn't have to look far. Looks like a cool place to visit! Thanks for sharing!
You saw the south of Bonaire Beautiful and colorful Next time go North It's completely opposite but equally as beautiful and colorful If you enjoy the beach and nature you should take the water taxi to the small island And of course snorkeling is a big recommendation Hopi you visit again soon :)
Naomi Assistant where is a good place to snorkel?
Wow beautiful beaches.. thank you for touring around.. perfect for summer vacation..
Looks like a great stop for a cruise. We'd love to see the salt flats from above and up close as well as the flamingos. Also the windsurfing seems like a fun activity to do on the island there but it seems like a very difficult activity and requires a lot of prior skills and knowledge. Glad you were able to get some salt from there and enjoy the city center and local market!
This looks like such a fab island! The salt flats and save hunts are good suggestions for destination stops - we agree that it's important to take time to learning about the history of a place. Lac Bay Beach and the bar nd grill looks awesome too and we would happily spend all day there :)
If I every make it to Bonair I know now a little bit about this Island thanks to you guys.
Another beautiful video 😍
Bonaire looks like such a beautiful island to explore. The beach pub and restaurants look amazing and love that its all on the beach, we could definitely chill there for a good while. we have never tried windsurfing, but would love to give it a go here. The town looks so fun with plenty to keep you busy. ONE LOVE
Lac Bay Bar and Grill looks like a great hangout. I too cannot handle hot sun for too long! Neither can my husband...haha. I would love hanging out at the beach to watch all the windsurfers. Souvenirs are totally my thing! Bonair salt would be a lovely and useful thing to pick up. The salt flats and the slave huts are a must visit, it is important for visitors to learn the history behind the salt trade on the island.
Very Nice views Amazing Lot thanks to showing it dear New Friend 👍💞 Big like
Wow, you certainly packed in a full day on the island. It looked very relaxed and a fun place to visit. I guess the islanders rely on the huge cruise ships for their livelihood. Love local markets. Nice video, enjoyed the excursions. 👍 🎥 🌷 🙋♀️
You always do such a great job with the advice you give on the places in your videos. Well done. Bonaire looks so nice.
Thanks so much!
Wind surfing sounds like fun. I just learned paddle boarding so wind surfing would be a cool one to learn also. Pink salt, interesting. Thanks for sharing about the slave huts. It is good to learn about lessons of the past. Safe travels!
What a great video of this island. Those Bonaire beaches look stunning - plus I would love to try windsurfing!
Yeah the windsurfing looked like a popular activity
Very informative and helpful infos esp. for me...my first time to hear about this island. I love the colored buildings and of course, the white sand beach
As always wonderful footage with good information. It was great to be shown around 🌈🙏👍
Thanks very much :)
@@TheAverageTourist you are welcome, keep safe 🌈👍🙏
What a beautiful island! Lac Bay looks amazing! Love how the bar and restaurant is on the beach sand. The beach is just beautiful and so is the city with the colourful buildings 🤩
I loved the island, can't wait to get back to the Caribbean.
Very informative and can’t wait to get a ship again 😁 loved the market and definitely loved the idea of a quick island tour to take in the highlights.
Me too! I want to cruise again
4 languages spoken on the Island?! That's awesome! Looks like a lovely island full of history! This video is very well edited and really informative, great job!! See you soon 😊👏💙
Thanks very much!
Windsurfing - must be a super exciting activity, I would love to try it! So many things to do, definitely worth to visits 🤩
I didn't try it - looked way too difficult for me lol
I love Bonaire! I have been there several times for scuba diving and konw this island very well! Thank you for sharing this island trip to refresh my memories! Big like! Greetings from Switzerland!
It's such a beautiful island - I heard scuba diving is very popular there but we didn't try it.
@@TheAverageTourist You have to try scuba diving there! The best part of Bonaire is underwater :-)
Another informative interesting tourguide Sarah! Those clear beaches wow! Would definetly wanna book a trip here after seeing this and do an island tour too. Thanks for the lovely tour 🤩
Thanks so much!
Very nice video about top things to do in Bonaire. It brings back many good memories of my visits to this beautiful island. The water there is very clear and has an amazing turquoise color, great for diving.
nice video thanks for sharing
This is great! So detailed and informational. Thanks for sharing this with us! This is somewhere I would lovely to visit in the future. It is definitely important to hear the history. Again thanks for sharing it with us.
Happy to share! Glad you enjoyed it. I can't wait to get back to the Caribbean!
thank you for the respectful manner you handled the slave huts, as ADOS (American descendant of slaves) I truly appreciate, the island looks amazing
Looks wonderful, so many great ideas in your video. Top of my list would be windsurfing in those clear waters! thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Thanks very much! There is a lot to see and do there 👌
wow Bonaire is absolutely so beautiful and very much reflected to the history and its legacy, I loved the sea and river vibes you put there :)
Bonaire is a beautiful island I would love to go back one day, thanks for watching!
@@TheAverageTourist anytime Friend 😊

Thanks guys!! Appreciate it :)
Wow this is so cool, I haven’t been to this place...enjoyed so much
Thanks!
Great tour! Looks like you made the most of your time there!
thanks! we tried our best.
What a great informative guide to Bonaire. I went to Aruba a couple of years ago and didn't make it to Bonaire or Curacao. Will need to make it happen as soon as it's safe to travel internationally.
Yes definitely need to try Bonaire and Curacao
Very nicely covered and explained ! Hope to see more of your videos. Good editing too 😊 👍
Thank you very much!
I like your vlog, very well documented and good quality of video. Keep up the good work with the vlog ✌️
Thanks very much!
LK 15. Thanks for sharing. Nice video.
thanks!
What an incredible place! Sounds like there are a lot of activities on the bay, that's very awesome! This video makes me miss Caribbeans so much! Local Markets are very nice too!
I am missing the Caribbean too!
The coastal drive looks beautiful! 🌊 loved the little beach shack too, those loungers out the front with a nice cold drink would be perfect🍹👌🏼
The windsurfing looked great but we’re with you, it always looks so difficult to do! 😅
Awesome that you got some salt after visiting all the salt flats😊
It's a great island - yes, had to get the salt since it was "famous" 😂
Bravo :) Amazing new video !! Thanks again for the travel :)
Thanks very much!
@@TheAverageTourist thanks 🙏 a lot miss
I am new here and watched your video for the first time. I enjoyed watching it very much that I would want to watch more. So I sub. Fully watched. Keep up your great work.
Thank you for the support!
Bonaire is gorgeous!
100% agree
Gio's Gelateria & Caffe` is a must visit!!
I'll have to go next time 👌
Wow I've never seen so many kite surfers in one place before. We would probably try it, but agree it looks hard, and I'm sure we'd be bad at it too. We've never been to Bonaire, but have been fortunate enough to try some of the salt that Jamie's mom picked up while visiting. It was really good! Glad to see you were able to get some too.
There were so many surfers it was insane - I thought for sure there would be a crash but we didn't see any while we were there. It's a great island, I'd love to go back.
We were here 3 to 4 years ago and place was teeming with iguana, lizards, birds and fish. I was shocked to come back to so much over development. You can see the impact. Few lizards and fish have been impacted. Sad. When driving you see construction site after construction site. Reason why St John's is so beautiful. 2/3rds of the island is park land. Aruba was not a place I was really looking forward to however I will say the beaches and the entire place was packed with lizards and sealife. Would be a real shame if Bonaire just turns into one big condo and housing complex
Love the beautiful pink water shots you got. When we were there the water didn't look so pink (I forgot the reason why)
Yes they said that sometimes it's not very pink... I can't remember the reason either though...
i love Bonaire... i want to visit this paradise island... God permits! Amen 🙏
🙌
I really enjoyed your video. Great channel. ⭐️⭐️
Greetings from Albania. 🇦🇱
Thanks very much :)
I would add Washington-Slagbaai National Park for great hiking (take a water- bottle) and also bike rentals ( the coast towards Karpata is beautiful and maybe 6 miles)
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
No mention of the GOLF CART rentals? Great tour on your own around the south route or north route....and a stop at SOROBON BEACH RESORT for lunch
Good info for next time 👌
You're welcome to Kenya.
Hi do you know where the Bonaire sign for the pictures is?
Bonaire is the name of the shop in Valencia so I was very surprised at first haha
Oh interesting!
What dates in February do you have. Any dates for one week or two. Thanks
Do you know if you can fly a drone over the salt flats? Shade is always appreciated on a Caribbean island! As a surfer (used to be, anyway), Wayne wants to try wind-surfing...but that looked like a crowded place to do it. Do you use a lot of salt in your cooking or eating?
I'm not sure about the drone - you might be able to do a small one but the wind is so strong there I think it would be very challenging. It was very crowded in the bay that day. I don't use it in everything, but I enjoy larger flaky salt - I pass if the only option is table salt.
It is almost always windy every time we try flying our drone, no matter where in the world we are! Yes, that "real" salt is enjoyable on a few things...
Does everybody take credit cards, or should I take a bunch of cash with? I’m going to be there a week. Not sure how much to bring. Are taxi’s easy to get at resorts? What do you usually tip? Sorry for all the questions. 😉
Me far from bonaire, not possible. Dutch built and ruled this island.
I need a "Dutch uncle" to take me there. 😉😉😛
I live in bonaire
Where do you park?
Thank you for sharing your video. I'm sure Bonaire has it's charm but it doesn't seem to be a very beautiful island.
Yes its a beautiful island very chill and relax
Are you able to walk up to the pink water? Seems like it’s prohibited
No you aren't supposed to walk into or up to the salt flats
@@TheAverageTourist ah, I figured as much. I’m going there in April and was curious. Thanks so much!
What was the yellow boundary at the beach? Is that normal? What an ugly beach. Did you mention the temperature? This island looked 100% tourist. Looked like any cruise ship port, everyone ready to take your money. I think you did a very good job of indirectly showing me why I will never go there, thanks.
The population consists of approximately 21 thousand people (not 18 thousand) :)
Woon je hier ik wel
is it a country to live in?
People live there year round
What a dope video thanks a lot. And Trust Me! baldr - no worries on spotify!
Thanks so much!
My onkel is on de wol
Little misleading, should be titled "One way to spend a day in Bonaire." Well, unless there is only one beach and two things to see beside the town.
lol i live there or should i say here
