I had the same error with 5S Max. The only difference is the number of screws and slightly changed layout of those plastic casings. Your guide helped me out, thanks a lot, man!
There’s nothing important lacking in your English. You clearly communicate what’s important step-by-step, better than most. Many who want to show solutions do it from the “inside” and most of us who need help are on the inside: “My roborok is malfunctioning and I get no useful information from it. So when I saw the start of your video I realize you stand beside me where the trouble is, not far ahead where it’s already solved. -> a really good user interface . So I’m very thankful.
May'22 - Mi Vacuum Totally works for me! It seems complicated but it isn't. Mine was an easier fix. The band fell off and I just reattached it back to the wheel. Thank you from Singapore.
Thank you so much for this. I thought mine was ruined. I only needed to take the turret cover off (the second set of screws) to discover a long hair tangled up in the drive belt. I pulled it out and it's as good as new.
Thank you, tried this and it worked! Not as difficult as I thought it would be. :) In my case, unbeknownst to me, the cleaning lady had been mopping the robot as well as the floor - this of course meant some detergent ended up getting inside the LIDAR rotating mechanism and then dried up, preventing the orange plastic thingy from spinning freely.
Awesome! First I thought, well that's too complicated for a quick fix but it was surprisingly easily. I not only repaired the S5max by removing something blocking the belt but I also feel more confident in tackling future technical problems. Thanks a lot! Your video saved me lots of money!! Got help with this video! Thank you very much! I had already swaped out the ladar unit, with error 1 at first place. Thought I have to spend another 100euros 2 year later... but this helped!
Thank you @TinC33! I was able to fix an error for mine roborock following the steps from the video. In my case there was a fingerprint on a laser and dust on a motor.
Unfortunately after two usages of robot it fails again with same problem. I opened it once again and used compressed air to do cleaning of sensor tower area. It's now working again. I spotted that when sensor is rotating it have some small inflexion maybe this is causing jamming of rotating parts. Do someone run for same problem?
Hey it worked :-D Turns out that when the roborock (S7) went under our Christmas tree, a pine needle fell into the lidar sensor and knocked the orange band off the wheel. Tweezered out the pine needle and put the band back on the wheel and we're good to go.
After watching this I first tried to just vacuum the tower itself with a handheld vacuum. It sucked out a tiny piece of styrofoam that got in there without any need for disassembly
Hello, thanks for the video, i have a roborock s7 maxv ultra with error 1 but laser is ok (i have tried it on another robot), have you had any similar problem, I wanted to understand if there was some test I could do before replacing the motherboard.
Thank you for this. I always to hesitate to tear into a device for fear I do more damage than good. However, my device quit after circa 40 days since it was delivered to me and the manufacturer referred me to the seller who referred me back to the manufacturer. Grrrrrr. Basically, if I didn't fix it, the entire purchase price would be wasted. I have a Roborok 8+ but it is similar enough to the model you repaired to make the video useful. I found nothing more obstructive than a single pet hair but removing that and spraying a bit of contact cleaner strategically made the difference. Frankly, I think this design is far too fragile for a vacuum. Hopefully Roborok will take note.
Thanks, i'm the guy who can open anything if it's broken i can't make more broken 😁 Yestourday i replace iPhone camera, open them for the first time, everything work well... You just need to bealive into yourself, and take photos, notes... During disaasembely.
Well made video! Thanks! My Xiaomi mijia 1s isn't following it's map anymore, making extra maps everywhere so I'm hoping it's just something with the lidar.
Thanks for the video. I've learned how to get to the laser sensor next time I'll be replacing the sensor - as cleaning & moving didn't help me. Firstly, the rotor moved (though slower than supposed to) but soon stopped, then the robot tried again with the same result and finished with 3rd attempt with error now even without sensor rotating. So, I guess I have to replace entire sensor.
@@TinC33 Yes, the rotor rotates smoothly (I've dissasembled the part with magnet to check it). So I ordered motor and let's see how it fares. Thanks for your advice.

very helpful for disassambly. There are cases however, where there is no mechanical block (laser head, belt, motor) and it is still not working. The motor works fine with 5V.
