Brilliant video - thank you ! I asked some hams this many years ago, they could tie the knots but couldnt explain them, i guess it just comes automatically, but its great to have them explained and use.
Thanks for the demo. Rather than use the taut line hitch l use the midshipman's hitch, which is similar but less likely to slip. Also, when tying the trucker's hitch I grasp all 3 cords and tie the locking hitch around all of them.
Very good video, all very good knots and I use one more that is called the butchers knot, a slip knot that butchers use to roll and tie a roast but I use it like the Cow hitch you use. I just received my 10 meter Spider beam, can’t wait to use it next week. 73. KV5P
Hello, thanks for watching! The mast is from the Spiderbeam company, they should ship worldwide. The yellow collar is designed by me and you can print it out for free on the 3D printer. The STL files are on my site at printables.com. Please check my other video for the link to the printables and for the mast review here: ua-cam.com/video/_-j_kbx0G10/v-deo.html HTH, have fun! 73! I made the first two knots and they are amazing. The harder you pull, the tighter they get. The sliding adjustment is so easy and yet secure !
Fascinating technology. I really needed this since I dropped out of the Scouts very quickly as a kid !
