Jagusah #56 who is playing RG was the starting LT before he got hurt in spring. Knapp played as a true freshman, and #79 is Tosh baker the 3rd string LT. ND needed Jagusah to play guard because the starting RG is now the Center, and the backup RG is Rocco Spindler #50 who hurt his left ankle.
Knapp replacement is Tosh Baker, 6'8” 320 lb 5th year guy with no athleticism. The injured guy Charles Jagusah, number 56, 6'7" 330 lbs (HS Wrestling State Champ) came back and was put in at guard to replace Rocco Spindeler.
Should be noted that Tosh Baker is a grad student that is showing up for the team. He has been injured all season with a serious shoulder injury that is going to need surgery.... he isnt going to the NFL and he knows it so he has forgone the surgery until the season is over in order to remain a possible backup when teammates go down.

ND! Number 56 is the Original tackle who at least was supposed to start. Hurt a peck or something was out for the year. Now he replaced the guard who went out the first half. These boys are resilient!
Yeah, he tore his peck before the season started.... really though we all know he is just a post season kinda guy (played a big role in our bowl game last year and now getting back in in the post season this year
Just got through the intro, so I apologize if this is mentioned, but ND’s emphasis on the middle eight is crazy. They had something like a 145-10 advantage over the season at one point into the Playoffs (check me on that, that’s off the top of my head).

Great stuff @thefilmguynetwork - sent your clips to tons of folks. Of note: the 2nd half LT (79) from Notre Dame in the game is a perennial backup. The guy who was supposed to start the season actually came in (56) as the reserve RG because the starting RG (50) got injured indefinitely when Riley Leonard went down (same play). That starting RG who went down was playing with a busted ankle against UGA and you pointed out he was slow on his feet in that film review. He got bodied on the play where Riley Leonard got hit because he has no push on his ankle.
#79 has been a starter in the past but there is a reason he was not starting this year. Knapp kinda came out of nowhere this fall to take the that LT spot once #56 got injured. Offensive line should be off the charts next year. Starting center also went down earlier this season. With Knapp playing so well at LT, Jaguasah #56 may be able to stay inside for next year.
We're full circle as Jagusah was injured as the opening camp LT. For OSU, ND depth chart shows Jagusah or Tosh Baker at LT (Knapped injured vs PSU) and Spindler at RG. Jagusah played admirably at RG coming in vs. PSU.
Correction: #56 was the starting LT, he got injured and Knapp came in. #79 is Tosh Baker, who’s a third stringer behind Knapp and #56. #56 came in to play guard in the game.
I'm a Irish fan and we better not play no damn man to man. Texas and Michigan gave Notre Dame the blue print to slow that passing game down. Marcus Freeman doesn't play ego ball and will do what he's gotta do to slow Ohio St offense down.
@TheFilmGuyNetwork I'll definitely be watching. Leonard Moore vs Jeremiah Smith will be fun to watch. Both are on multiple true freshman all american lists.
Yeah but you can't suddenly switch to a majority of zone coverage and change you're whole identity. You gotta pick your spots and mix things up. We'll probably still be a majority man to man team - especially if we can find some success affecting the QB early.
@KyleJonesDrJones I agree, but I do think they will do less man coverage. Ohio St have 2 1st round draft picks at wr. It would be one thing if Morrison wasn't hurt. But that's asking a lot for a true freshman and a sophomore lol
Former lacrosse player, football lover, and life long ND fan; what you said about Jordan Faison is absolutely correct. Lax players and WRs have to have soft hands. There’s a reason lacrosse players translate well to WRs, a lot of the same open field movements in lacrosse correlate to a WR route tree, being able to find the open grass against zone coverage and the twitch factor. You see a lot of WRs play Midfield in lacrosse and a lot of LBs play defense in lacrosse. Lot of cross over. Play lacrosse in the football offseason, it’ll benefit your game greatly.
number 79 for Notre Dame Tosh Baker was actually 3rd string to start the year, number 56 Charles Jagusah the right guard came in for injured starting right guard this game Rocco spindler, Jagusah was supposed to be the starting left tackle but tore his pec in the summer so Knapp started
Charles Jagusah (#56) who is playing RG was the starting LT coming into fall camp, but had a pec injury that sidelined him until the playoffs. Knapp stepped in as a true freshman and has been the LT for all or most of the season. Tosh Baker is #79 and had started some games at LT, but then Joe Alt (now with the Chargers) came in as a true freshman and had LT locked down for the past three years. Knapp has been solid in the run game but terrible in pass protection.

Love the vids. For comments at 45m mark and LT missing the block. Jagusah was originally set to be the LT as a red shirt freshman b4 he got injured b4 the beginning of the year. Due to concerns with senior Tosh, they decided to move a backup freshman guard over to LT who played most of the season. Bc of the 2 injuries against PSU on the sane play, they put Jagusah at guard and kept Tosh at LT bc that’s where he was most comfortable. That why the backup RT is an absolute stud and LT is pretty mediocre.
i think someone else already pointed it out but the backup LT was the 3rd string preseason. The guy that was supposed to be starting subbed in at right guard for us, 56 in 2nd half.
Tosh Baker is the new replacement 79. He was beat out by Charles Jag 56. Charles got injured and Knapp beat out Tosh Baker. Charles Jag will most likely start at Left Tackle next week. It all depends on Rocco Spindler and if he is healthy.
Great stuff. Just wanted to point out that ND lost their starting LT and RG in this game (both who started the season second string and injuries put them in the starting lineup, so we are talking about third string guys-the LT that came in to replace Knapp was NOT 1st string pre-season, the 1st string guy got injured in fall camp).
I learn something and have fun every time I watch a video from my man Brooks.....unfortunately I can only sub once....otherwise I would be subbing weekly or more.
79 is the third string from the start of the year. Number 54 is out for the natty with his injury from the psu game. 56 was the starter at the beginning of the year at LT, but got hurt, He filled in at rg this game as the starter there got hurt as well, but he’s gonna be back for next week. So it should be the usual ND o line we’ve seen all year but with 54 out at LT and 56 making his first start out there this year.
Wow, #79 / Baker was worse than I thought. I have to guess they’ll move #56 / Jagusah (the original starter at LT) back there - assuming Spindler is healthy.
yea especially how he pointed out their DE play like Sawyer and abused Baker. Jagusah got the physical tools to stand up against power rushers. I hope to see exactly what you said. Jagusah at LT and Spindler if he can't go Pendleton at RG.
