    Very proud of another lady doing this. Our farm in Ivory Coast with 3500 birds just started laying a month ago and dropping 40 crates of eggs per day. I am much younger than her and see myself doing it lifelong. It is a great activity.

      Congrats my sister, I’m myself starting a 1800 layer birds in Libreville but the sales person who is supposed to program to acquire the birds locally is playing hard to contact them. Which really a down side about our people. We are stuck at this stage, we can’t move forward until she decides to communicate with us. Very sad, no notions of good service to those who make up her salary.
      Q: How many eggs in a crate?

      @@mcdiorlafricain5076 the standard is 30 eggs per crates. Isn’t Libreville un Gabon? Try to get them from a surrounding country. We order ours from a company in Côte d’Ivoire and got it in like a month. We don’t go to a certain person.

    I am jealous! this is what I want to do! I can't wait to move to Africa and start my own farm! she is such an inspiration, and he is right! when the owners of big technology companies like bill gates, Larry Ellison owner of oracle, Ellon musk all are starting giant farms that should tell you how profitable farming is, farming generated 222 billion dollars worldwide alone in 2020 and that despite the pandemic! expert predicts that by 2035 farming worldwide especially farming in Africa may have surpassed the trillion mark, not billion trillions! that should be enough reasons to inspire you guys to go into farming as well.

    • @TheSENYO
      @TheSENYO  2 роки тому +2

      Very well researched and yes 👍🏿 many want to venture into farming but with careful consideration as well because it could be capital intensive and we still have land ownership issues in Ghana 🇬🇭. The same goes our leaders are reluctant to resolve some basic issues we have as a country. Ghana should never be facing land ownership issues in this day and age. But we still believing. We have to produce what we eat

    • @Suetvvlogs
      @Suetvvlogs 2 роки тому +2

      @@TheSENYO true, and let's be real here, the leaders are not reluctant, many of them move where the money goes, and sadly 95% of ghana's leaders and politics are corrupt! that's why they are losing a lot of diasporas, if they were not soo money hungry and try to scam diasporas at every turn many more diasporas would reconsider ghana as their possible relocating country, many of us are not rich! many of us, we are bringing in our hard-earned savings, in many cases, it's our retiring money that we are investing in businesses in ghana, only for us to see it being targeted by greedy ghana government officials! with shit like that happening it's no wonder many diasporas are looking for other countries to relocate to that is not ghana, if the government officials were not greedy a lot more diasporas would be moving there in including me! BUT because I know how they operate down there I decided to go somewhere else.

      I should have explained better. We visited Keta and on our way back to Accra I requested we pay the farm a quick visit. Video was not planned but that’s one of my most viewed videos. 4,500 birds at the time of video were about 10 weeks nit 10 months and not started laying yet. The brown birds to the other stretch and another pen, which was the first pen were the ones actively laying so about 5,500 birds were actively laying. I later learned great 👍🏿 info that led to the poultry farm and had wanted to go back to do an extensive video. They also had an organization for women empowerment visit their farm after they saw the video. Lots of work to do but one step at a time. They had started fish farming also. Great looking farm. What's the use of asking the same questions many times and shocked at the same answer repeated to you? I absolutely love hard working Africans and agriculture in general. If I could suggest, I prefer to see specialized farming. Do chickens alone or goats or fish or pigs. It's a common practice in our lovely African to jumble everything in one farm but not great at any one practice. Out in USA, EUROPE, Asia, people pick on type like cattle or chicken an perfect it over decades. I really wish our farmers could embrace specialized agriculture. The resources used to produce goats, pigs and fish could have been used to improve the infrastructure and production of the chicken farm but instead, it's used for other projects hindering the success of the chicken farm. Best of luck and great job.

      I did not realize I was asking same questions. The owner is a good friend of mine and very shy 🙈 so I did a walkthrough with her first then engaged the farm manager himself later. So it’s obvious I will ask same questions and thank God their answers whisper to me that she knows what’s going on in the farm and taking records as well.
      In regards to specialized farming; you are perfectly right but again some people want variety. If I go into Such business I personally will like to take on two or three projects so poultry, and goats 🐐 may be ideal for me. But you have a great point worthy of consideration. Thanks 😊

      @@TheSENYO Glad you clarified yourself. Great thing is you helped her in offering exposure.
      I am a rancher and I have cattle since 2003 in Africa and I am in USA. I have taken this long to horn in on cattle farming and I am just beginning to see a smooth running operation and Great yields too. I am considering expanding it from a few hundreds to thousands but it took long to master the trade. I would have long tired out or given up or never arrived such results if I had embraced many types of farming. You know, we have dreams and we can't accomplish them all. We just need to pick the best one.
      Farming is difficult and broad, we as Africans tend to chase the money/market on every type but forget to realize that you can be a builder/carpenter/electrician/doctor/lawyer and be good in all of them. Same in farming. It's better to pick one and dominate the region/country as the best than small here small there.
      I see chicken farmer in USA with 350,000 laying hens or 5000 reproducing cattle or 12000 pigs and it's family owned and operated. One family. Grand father started it then passed it to son then grandsons and so on. That's how wealth is built. We don't follow that in Africa and that is a major problem if we will one day be successful as a continent.
      I wish your friend could follow my advise but I doubt she would. With the current capacity and having partners, she is at the break out point but she is delaying that explosive phase by diversifying. She should "keep the main thing, the main thing". Very well understood. I also believe every business goes through phases
      Every phase requires proper assessment
      Planting grass to cover land will be ideal but also bear in mind that the grass will need to be mowed regularly and birds can’t stand noise of mower. It may cause panic. Also the business is growing and I can say they moving in right direction to maximize the land usage. It started with 1 pen housing about 2000 birds now they have two, housing 8,500 to 10,000 birds.
