There was a huge part of the seventies devoted to coming together. Check out Sly and the Family Stone, Everyday People for example....

Written and released in 1957 by Dale Hawkins. My particular favorite song of CCR is BORN ON THE BAYOU. Back in the 50s and 60s there was so much competition--and with no auto tune or other enhancers a group or individual had to be really talented. There was such a variety of music then.

There is a longer version that has about another 5 minutes to it. It's even better. This is the AM radio version that couldn't play any song over 7 minutes and change. The FM stations, where the "stoners" listened to their music, played all of the long versions of different songs all of the time.

I have loved this song off of their first album forever but ace, I've got to tell you. I really was engaged with your commentary on this in your thoughts and while I can completely relate to that age, and partially because you Illustrated it so well, I really appreciate the fact that you think about all this stuff and you decided to be super straightforward and I respect the hell out of it.
And I have said this before, you would have been right at home in the seventies and in the 80s. You really would have. I know you would totally love it.

Loved your take on the difference between your generations music & my generation from 60s, 70s. You nailed it 👍

This is NOT the whole song! This is the shortened AM radio version, or 45 RPM single. The album version is much longer (FM radio version) and has a great ending, not the stupid fadeout. You cheated yourself! Always check the timing on songs of this era. - there is often 2 versions designated for different airplay destinations. Always pick the extended version.

The music from the 60s through the90s brought us together and it was soooooo good, it took you other places to get us away from our hard times. Music was our therapy. All CCR songs are 🔥. The posituve emotions stayed afterwards too.

First, the reason for the flowering of widespread creativity in the 60s was due to the fact that my generation was the most materially blessed in human history, and therefore had the LEISURE TIME to work at various artistic pursuits. Yesterdays' music came from all the diverse regions of the US before the countries' culture became homogenized by corporate monoliths. Most of the Boomers grew up playing outside, doing hard work, and going to church and Sunday school. Not so with todays' generation. It is also true that the pervasive romanticism in music, and in the nation as a whole, was destroyed by the "sexual revolution" of that era. You are wiggy and funny, I really enjoy you letting it all hang out in your reactions, as far as CCR, you need to buy their greatest hits CD and get a decent component stereo system to get quality sound. Great job!!!!!!! Check out the "Apocalypse Now" version of this number.

My Grandpa in early 70's would look at me and say your generation this or that or your hanging out with those hippies again. I told myself I would never sound like that but now late 50's I look out the window, at news etc and sound like that ) Yes things change in how folks act or music changes but I miss growing up discovering folk and rock from neighbors, friends and older kids. Hey have you heard this? You may want to try it out...

"Born on the Bayou," "I put a spell on you," and " Suzy Q" are easily CCR's top 3 songs of them all.
