I live here in Houston also, in my area I remember I ordered the Popeyes chicken sandwich like 6 months before all the hype. I guess my Popeyes was testing the market or something. I went back a couple weeks later and they weren’t selling it anymore. Then one day, boom! The chicken wars were on.
