Haven’t seen much comments on how well made their masks were, and the costumes, both costumes and dancers are treasure of humanity
The mask is Made of Yaranza wood and can take as long as six days to carve, there are also persistent rumors that during the performance the dancer is separated from all that is happening around him Once he puts the mask on, it will no longer be him dancing, but the spirit that possesses his body.

What is interesting because I have already attended a similar dance in my village "the GOLI (this is the name of the mask)" is that it is the dancer who gives the rhythm. the goli and the zaouli are not dressed in the same way. The GOLI has a sheepskin on the back. Kiss from the Ivory Coast.

I have quit dance for many years now thinking i had lost all interest - but seeing Zaouli has inspired me to give it a shot and overcome the physical challenge. I have started training at it - I use it in combination with my soccer training and plenty of stretches . I look forward to getting results
