Kind of wish Discovery Channel had more of this. Wild Discovery was my childhood. Thanks to it, I had an appreciation of life outside of my little neck of the woods, and I was able to learn more and more about animals and nature from around the world, spawning a desire to learn more. Listening to that intro alone evokes nostalgia...
I always associate this show with staying at my grandparents house overnight, because my folks had to work and my grandpa would have this playing during the evenings on their 1982 zenith console tv. And their crappy cable company didn’t get Cartoon Network or Nick (but did get the Disney channel back when it cost extra) but I have great ol memories learning about animals as a kid. I think I even watched this show at home too. Too bad Discovery doesn’t show stuff like this much anymore. Starting around 2007 most cable channels really started to drift away to reality shows and re-running the same shows all day long.
@@chiaratorrisi7713 You should check out CuriosityStream, a new online service bu John Hendricks, the founder of Discovery. It basically IS the old channel.
@@bradyanderson6311 Guess it's been so long I have forgotten. There was a coke commercial that came out in 95' as well and I also thought that was early 90s. I'm on a nostalgia trip here.
I do wish that they would have fact checked more closely. The description of the Yellowstone eruption left out the movement of the continent over the hot spot and the previous calderas. The ash fall from Mount Saint Helens is described as soot, even though it was all finely divided rock. As sad as the story of the Modoc war is, it really has nothing to do with volcanoes, so I am not sure why it was included. Other than that, the program is quite informative.
The lava beds part of this show is from another valcano documentary I know cuz I remember cuz I’ve scene it before and the lava beds part was a little longer that this one only I don’t Renee what that documentary was called would anyone here know the name of that valcano documentary?
Yes! I've been looking forever for Wild Discovery episodes.
Marcosaur03 I haven't seen wild discord for a while

Kerian Halcyon+ Right on.
Kerian Halcyon I could not of said it better myself
Used to watch these with my family, intro music was always the bomb.
I made it a point to watch the show every night.
This is great! I've never seen a program showing all the major volcanoes in the U.S. before together with a brief history. Like!
I miss watching Wild Discovery.
MrScrevier20 me too😖

We know more from the universe then from our own planet. Not very clever..
Was it necessary to write this documentary in baby talk?
Joan Meijer maybe because it’s for children 🙄
Man, this is woeful, who wrote this mawkish crap?
