- In today's video we're Decorating For Christmas in my Living Room, and sharing Living Room Holiday Decor Ideas that have a Traditional Christmas Style! I've been having so much fun Styling Christmas Decor for 2023, and trying to achieve a high end (Pottery Barn) type of look, but on a more reasonable budget. For this Family Room I challenged myself to reuse a lot of Christmas Decorations that I've had for years, which made this look so fun and nostalgic to create!

For the picture you are drawing a blank on/hitting your creative limit. An easy affordable way to incorporate it into your decor is wrap it in gift-wrap that matches your decor and a velvet ribbon and a large bow

Growing up, My mom would wrap all the pictures on the wall in our living room to look like presents. She could never figure out what to do and came up with that. So now I have to wrap at least one picture in my house for Christmas. That picture in yours, would be the perfect size to wrap and give that wall a statement!

I like neutral decor too 😊 last year I did creams, brass, gold, silver, and pops of red! It was so pretty 🤗 but I’m loving the nostalgia of these reds & greens this year

For the picture you didn't know what to do with in your family room, I think it would look pretty with Santa on his sleigh with the reindeer flying through the sky ("and to all a good night" type of scene). But as silhouette like you did with the bats on the picture in your front room during halloween.

Amanda from This Crazy Life covered a picture with brown paper and painted a cute Christmas village on it with white paint. It was beautiful.

Something I do that my great grandma started when they didn't have much money for decorations was they would wrap the pictures in wrapping paper. Brown paper packages tied up with string like the song. And I personally add colorful string or fun themed paper for whatever I might do that year. But a golden snowflake on a white background with the same bow and stems on top would be gorgeous!

I think that painting would look beautiful with some draped rustic bells on it. Like so the bells hang down 1/3 way to fill in some of the empty space on the picture but still show it off. And the bells will match the tone/color of the painting, so it won't detract from the art, but just look more Christmassy.

Oh Megan, your hair looks so pretty curled, & you are glowing & beautiful! I love the village on the tv mantle. It's so beautiful. Now I want a village. I do have 2 small pieces. They're white. I have lights around them. But I want more! For your pic wrap it in white tissue paper & a gold or red bow. Or any wrapping paper. I think that would work. I used to have little tiny packages wrapped, empty boxes around the small trees etc. Thanks for all the ideas. I love your excitement & thrill of it all. I would suggest going to Hobby Lobby ~~ they have another Susan Comish Santa canvas wall art piece (at least in the stores here) that would definitely pair nicely with the one in your dining room, and then swap that out for the holiday season with the picture hanging above your couch. I have the Santa picture in our bedroom and I absolutely love it!! If my memory serves me correctly, the canvas piece that I bought was originally $59.99 and then 50% off, so in the mid $30 price range once you factor in tax. And I believe it is about 25 inches square.

@@lovinglifeasmegan They are sold out of it online, but when I went to one of our local stores this afternoon I think they had about 8 of them in stock. It has the most beautiful frame and such rich colors. The Santa Claus in this particular canvas piece has a mouse in one of his pockets. It is so stinking adorable. We use wrapping paper and wrap our canvases just the front and decorate it like a package- it covers them and you can choose paper that matches with your theme and it is inexpensive - but your greenery and bow were great too!!
How do you wrap just the front without damaging it? Painters tape? Sticky tack? What do you use lol?
